There's a guy on one of the FB groups has signed Joe Allen for Boreham Wood in the first season. Hopefully this isn't the start of a worrying development.

If he has signed Joe Allen for Boreham Wood, I am impressed. I can't do it in my save with them.

I think what we really need is for every single position on the pitch to have a "blank slate" role, like the Central Midfielder, where you can pick whatever mentality and PIs you like, and build the exact role you want.

I can do D (RL) Playing position but if i try to change it or select something else it doesn't change. then the coaches say i should give him some training

How do you scout this year? I've got the usual scouting but taken players in on trial but it doesn't show more stats?

When having a player on trial his attributes will be displayed in ranges to start with. The longer the player remains at your the more attributes will be revealed.

Just came here to say that I love the end of the season injury report. It's honestly refreshing and fantastic to have that information about how long a certain player has been injured for. Daniel Sturridge, in my save, was out for 55% of the season. Fantastic addition. Loving it. :applause:

So there have been apparently some changes to injuries sustained during a match. When a player gets a knock and that orange symbol, you can see what kind of injury it is.

However, there are also messages sometimes that a player "seems to have sustained a XXX injury" however WITHOUT an orange symbol. This message is also visibile on the screen where your assistant coach gives you match advice. I am yet to see a real injury develop out of that message, however.

So my question is: What is the difference between those two? Is the first one a "verified" injury message and the second one only a "suspected" injury message?

Love the beta but here are my two cents on what is annoying me so far:

- I always check the box "hide players/not at club" since I have so many players out on loan. This feature resets all the time and it is annoying to constantly re-do this procedure.

-I do not understand how to use the Development/Attribute changes tab. I cannot change what attributes to highlight. Is it linked to the training screen?

- Playing with Benfica, Porto have now won the league after 32 matches with 28-3-1 W-D-L. I beat them at home 1-0 and drew 0-0 away to them. I have a 25-5-2 W-D-L quota but it is not good enough to win the league. :-/ Are Porto having a one-off super season or is this an issue anyone else have experienced?

Anyone noticed players on loan are listed as being with their clubs until going into the club they are with. Playing Man Utd for the first time in what must be 20 years, I note Adnan Januzai is in blue, which must mean he is on loan. Open his profile up, & up top it says he is with Man Utd U21. press contract which confirms he is on loan with Dortmund. Activate Dortmund and see he is listed as their player on loan, & when I open his profile this time it says on top he is a player with Dortmund. Back key to profile, & he is now listed there. I would much rather it showed where they are on the squad screen or when you highlighted player, as at the moment it is quite confusing.

Was playing a friendly against Morecambe. As you can see from the stats, I mostly dominated the game, but the Possession stat seems a bit strange, ye? That's because from approximately minute 65, they had 100% possession(!) in the final Third. I had the highlights set to show Key only, so I didn't get to see their possession, only that they had 100%. As always, before the game is ended, you get to see the last 30 Seconds or so. Those Seconds were all spent With my keeper standing above the ball, not touching it. I think that's what happened from the 65th. minute.

I saved the game if someone wants to have a look, but don't know where to upload to share.

Yeah. They have not been great in my save either. I think people forget that just because it happens to them doesn't mean it happens to everyone!

Sure everyone's experience is different, but 76 games without a loss is worth at least a mention. I mean, has that ever happened IRL? If so, I'd love to know when.

The screen the other guy had was on classic/touch. You can right click to add columns.

Not on the quick sub screen you cant. All you can do is re-order the columns. And it resets by the next game anyway. Yes, it is classic mode, but the point stands.

Why does a strained wrist reduce the condition of my player to 61%?

That made me laugh :) Was the strain from training at home :D

You make a good point though as unless he is a goal keeper or your single long range throw in taker it shouldn't make any difference

Can any SI guys answer this question on training for me.

Say if i have a FB who is completely natural in the role i play do i just train him in his natural position or on the role he's already natural at?

Eg

Full Back (L) - Totally trained on each do i choose train him DL or Fullback?

I love the new Team Instructions window and how finally there's some feedback to show what mentalities do. I also love that Player Instructions show the instructions that are assigned due to the role (or was that there in 15? I don't remember ever seeing it).

I play in Vanarama North, and I feel like the football is much nicer to watch. I swear the first touch is much better? In FM15 most passes bounce 10ft off the receiver's feet.

I agree the blurring of backgrounds is hard to look at. Darkening them might be better. I can't think of any other complaints!

Is there any chance that tactic screen look will be changed? Most important thing in this game is not nice.

Would not be better that it is something like this, for example when players are not picked, to show shirts on tactic screen and when you click advanced button for example, we get bigger tactic screen with more details for every player ( this is just fm 2016 edited screenshot)

Ok, I said I wouldn't be buying FM16 due to being considerably underwhelmed by the announcement and disillusionment with issues in FM15. However, buy it I have and my early thoughts are below:

- Very polished game so far. I have found this beta far exceeds the state of FMs 14 & 15 at the same stage.

- Little things, such as the inability to increase Junior Coaching as soon as you arrive at a club, are great and far more realistic.

- I like the new negotiation screens with potential signings/renewing existing players contracts. Very good.

- Scorelines appear to be realistic too. I remember last year when some people had mental scores.

- Minor irritation. I have very specific search criteria setups for both Player Search & Staff Search. I can save the filter I go with no issues. BUT, just like in FM14 (but not FM15, when it was fixed), I cannot load this filter when I either change clubs or start a new game. A very minor irk, but as it was fixed in FM15, I am surprised it has returned.

In short, I am chuffed I appear to have been wrong about doubting FM16 - I am loving it and am enjoying being hooked on FM once again. :thup:

More feedback in due course as I play more of my Career game.

On FM Classic (Touch) again, I'm a bit disappointed by the transfer deadline day news window, it's a step backwards from last year. Again, it's not a major issue, but it just looks a bit cheap in comparison. I'm playing in the Conference South in the full fat game, so there's no deadline there, so I can't compare.

By the way, a tip for those who don't like the tactics screen and who pick their team from the squad screen instead and who are frustrated at not being able to clearly see the roles and duties from that screen.

Go to tactics screen, it normally looks like this (this is on classic, but its the same on full fat mode)..

If you click on the little icon on the top right of the pitch itself, the screen opens up like this...

This gives you the look of the squad screen with all the functionality of the tactics screen. You can always click back if you ever need to see how your tactic looks on the pitch. Won't be for everyone, but I know a few people who pick their team from the main squad screen because they don't like the pitch view.

Just a quick question, are the social media setups (YouTube/Twitter...) disabled until release or am I being a bit stupid? They're currently grey'd out in my preferences screen.

I'm having the same issue, but others seem able to create video's for YouTube.

This bloke for example can upload videos to YouTube.

There's a difference between linking your game to social media - which you can't do just now until the official release - and being able to upload your game to YT which you can do with any half decent screen recording software. It just means at the moment you can't directly upload match highlights/goals etc from the game to YouTube, but you can still stream to Twitch or upload to YouTube using the relevant external software.

Yeah, and then when your crazy combination of player/team instructions doesn't work, you'd be the first to complain about there being a lack of documentation around how to set it up correctly.

Nice. Actually there are only two positions where they don't have this. AMR/L and S.

But seriously, you should be a mod, you're so measured and helpful.

Same here but it seems like the mods are trying to fob us off with a "benchmarking" problem. To be honest it seems like an issue with retina models and we're not getting an honest answer out of them. My MacBook Pro is 3 weeks old so there's no way it should be sounding like it's about to explode.

I've had problems with the Total War games due to poor optimisation, yet even these far more graphics-intensive games run with less of an issue. Funny how games will run smoother and far inferior Windows PCs due to Mac OS and developers not having a good relationship. I hope they are able to fix it as I can't deal with my Mac going so crazy, and certainly don't want it to cause any issues. Every aspect of the game runs quickly and smoothly, just the in-game engine sends it wild.

I remember Jimbo's post earlier in the thread about teams kits clashing in game. This clip came from a game in the division I'm managing in. I'm happy I didn't have to sit through all the highlights of this...

Has anyone used the "dont know if I'll be able to carry on in my job" ultimatum in a board request?

I just did and my chairman didn't even blink - he didn't give the individualized response to that of calling your bluff or giving you what you want, his answer just stayed the same as to the previous question but now with that option gone.

Need to test more to know if its a bug, anyone else used it?

there is something with the shortlisting tool...when trying to shortlist players on the basis of hidden attributes (as per the last year), two issues arisa: i) the hidden attribute filter comes and goes, i haven't spotted any rule on the basis of which it is available or not, it seems random; ii) even when the filter is available, it's broken, since (for example) when filtering players on the basis of 'current ability' it lists none, even at 2 CA...something maybe is wrong with such filter

I'm sorry if I post again this feedback/question, hope to know more About it

Ive just seen a 2 footed challenge only punished with a yellow card. Would this be a bug, or would you put it down to a refereeing mistake?

EDIT: The referee had a good game according to the match report getting a rating of 8.4

Hi all, firstly loving the new game. The match engine took me a few games to get into but now love how unlike in last years where game you had to wait until half time if your team just didn't perform to get any kind of positive response, the games now ebb and flow and I have to think on my feet to manage the game and counter the AI.

However I have 2 criticisms:

Why did you change the rail camera position? It was perfect before but now most angles are too close or too far away!

The second one is the new set piece area. The user interface seems completely unnecessarily over-complicated with loading and saving routines. I can get over that as I spend time on setting them all up however I have noticed one issue which I would love a mod to let me know if this is a bug or how it is supposed to work:

So when selecting defending free kick positions I don't want 4 men in a wall when the free kick 40 yards out so I have 2 in the form wall role, but now when the free kick is even 20-25 yards out I still only have 2 men in the wall and it is like a free shot for the opposition! Any thoughts?

Finally if I want a man on either post for short free kicks why cant I use this? I have them selected and I could easily tell the team to mark any men in the area who would not be offside. I know real life managers don't do this but I would like to be able to. Could you not make the new set piece set up area work where u can select positions based on the distance from goal by clicking on that pitch area?

What does everyone else think? Overall very happy I bought the beta this year!!

I may be in a minority here, but I really like the manager creator feature. The detail in 3D has come a long way and includes things like burger vans, stewards and even bottles of water by the goal. A visual representation of the manager was long overdue

I also welcome the addition of the new manager creator too. I'm still not keen on the team banners draped around the stadiums though, I think they look very poor. I'm hoping that this year the banners will be editable like ad boards etc.

Not really sure how to describe what happened here but I’ll try. A player picked up an injury in the 70th minute and nothing else happened till the end of the game, Southampton had 100% possession for 20 minutes.
