Surprised how little space there is between the crowd barriers and the procession here.  It's like a really slow Tour de France.

And this is why the coffin is travelling to London by air.

Just imagine the scenes trackside if it went by Royal Train. It was bad enough last time Flying Scotsman was out.

So in modern Britain it is now an arrestable offence to protest the divine right of the sovereign, apparently not because we are some authoritarian feudal throwback, but because its ‘disrespectful’ and ‘disruptive’ to protest while her cold dead corpse is being hauled around the country so people can gawp at the coffin. I don’t know what’s worse out of how casually reasonable freedom to protest is being cast aside or the dumb ass justifications being offered up to defend it.

Should be assault charges for the two Quisling scum that attacked him. What a sad time for Scotland recent days have been. Just by dying she's started to cleave the place in two again.

There must be parts of the Tory regime ****ing ecstatic the queen died in Scotland. Hopefully those views will prove to be just as short sighted as the American pro life lot (hopefully) has been for the voting trends in America.

This thread's gone a bit Covid lockdown thread recently.

"How dare this enforced mourning impinge on something I want to do!"

On the other hand, can't even book a shopping delivery slot for Monday. Shambles.

I do a zero hours delivery job for a local chemist just for pocket money (and to stop going mad just sitting around) and they want me to work Monday. Ridiculous :D

Prince Andrew is a creep, whether this video is taken out of context or not isn't really relevant.

My brother thinks he’s ok this is his exact words when I said what do you think to Prince andrew as I recall you saying he is innocent despite saying never sweats, never met this girl and paid £12 million to someone he never met

when he was younger he had a fling with a 17 year old girl. If it was in UK it would have been legal but In america if your a korman you can have loads of wives, if you’re 16 you can buy a sub machine gun but cannot buy a beer

the girl accepted money from Epstein but after his death she wanted more and the American legal system went along with her any other legal system in the world would have dismissed it. He was naive but not a pervert. So I’m implying he is just shows that. Judge people by what the media highlight. I am sure footballers who have lost their  reputation because girls report them for rape are guilty without trial

Going the right way though. Bring on the guillotine

The opinion of Charles is much worse than the Queen on recent polls. Given this poll was taken when the Queen was around things may look different. Not saying massive changes, but it will likely have an impact, particularly with the younger generations who are polling less favourably to the monarchy as a whole.

That is factually wrong. She was procured to have sex with him and was under 18. She was also likely groomed. Paying a person for sex below aged 18 and grooming are both illegal here in the UK

A lot of us like Tony have relatives or older family friends prone to saying ridiculously reactionary/conservative things. I have in the past, but I wouldn't post that particular bilge in here because a lot of the time it's said to wind up the 'liberal/socialist' relative more than solid conviction or anything else and there is no point in allowing more people to be wound up by proxy.

They didn't 'mention' a section 5 they actually arrested him.

If they've arrested him for his protest, he should be suing. If they've arrested him because he's kicked off with the people around him that's a different story. I'm willing to bet it's the former (because you know, virtually every public example of policing we've seen) but I do question why his two accounts differ.

My brother is different to me and annoys me at times. I got no problem people having different views it just annoys me how he lives in a different world
mps claim thousands he has no problem with that but if someone claims £20 for food during school holidays he has a problem with that. I say about mental health I said many famous people struggle it can happen to anyone he just scoffs at me and says go on 2 week holiday and you will feel better

I said to him I don’t mind the queen and princess Dianna but don’t like the rest really. Prince Edward he stays out the limelight and princess Ann and do a lot of work for charities so them two are ok he replied they are all ok and then said about Prince Andrew

I was thinking yesterday these people who want to make the world more environment friendly etc how many Range Rovers do they have and gas guzzlers 4 litre cars yesterday following the queens coffin obviously I didn’t ask my brother. Have to accept some people it’s like banging your head against the wall they won’t accept they are wrong and don’t judge on what’s right and what’s wrong they judge on who has the most money or which person is deemed to be more important

I thought it was just me 😂 that’s why I post things because I’m thinking how can he think totally different I can’t see anyone else thinking like he does but the fact you say there are is a bit worrying. My brother is 62 but shouldn’t matter you should still understand what’s right and wrong and what’s corrupt etc

Tony, you seem like a really nice bloke. But in all seriousness, give your brother a ****ing clip around the head. Everytime you mention something he's said, it's always mental.

Gets me down sometimes. I sometimes feel low but would no way confined in him. I’m not being funny doesn’t matter what colour someone is or what country they are from or what job they have we should all respect others and if they don’t show us respect don’t go down to their level just have as little interaction with them as possible. I can’t get my head round to how my brother thinks the way he does

back on topic sorry we got next Monday off too. I didn’t know until yesterday that King Charles knew princess Dianna from age of 16 after he had dated her sister.

lot of things I’m hearing to be fair that I didn’t know before regarding the royal family and the history etc

Andrew is a whopper but probably not the best idea to shout something around Royalists during his Grandmothers? funeral coffin procession. Just asking for trouble, we already know he is anyway

If he was just someone who'd stolen a bit of money, or had a bit of an affair, or said a few nasty things, I'd agree. For him - deserves reminding every moment of his life, particularly when out in public. What's respectable about having a sex offender follow your coffin?

In our trust - routine stuff is being moved where possible, simply due to the bank holiday, no admin staff, support workers, etc.

Urgent and critical appointments/surgery going ahead, as will any procedure that will breach 52 weeks.

No word for me yet but I'm not in a critical role so would expect the day off.

@ginnybob unless he's kicked off with the crowd then police are in a spot of bother. Not the same incident but a lawyer making a point in the video

It's a good point that police officers often don't actually know the law themselves.

Think we will see a lot more of this over the coming days. You would hope officers would be given clear direction as to what constitutes a breach...but I won't hold my breath.

From the one video I saw. Mr Shouty Man was only being a gobshite. From what I remember you cannot be arrested for just being a gobshite, unless you swear at the police, but he did put himself in danger of being dragged to the ground and worse happening to him.
