Help me decide (I'm going for League One this year): Portsmouth, Lincoln, Bristol Rovers or Northampton?

Northampton are pretty bad, go for them. Portsmouth will be too easy

Alright I think i'm gonna narrow it down to Vitesse, Genk, Southampton, St. Gallen (my FIFA team) and Schalke. What do y'all think now?

Sorry for those suggesting PSV, I like the idea of having Götze there but for the rest the team seems rather drab to me. I dunno why.

Schalke are pretty terrible in real life right now so that might be cool.

Amine Harit and Suat Serdar are two very good players and you have the young Rabbi Matondo there.

Basically: a sleeping giant or a small team to build up?

Northampton definitely. The one time I went to England for a match was the Stevenage - Northampton fixture of 2 seasons ago and man, the fans from the away end were amazing. That'll always stick out to me, so of course i'm gonna suggest them.

Plymouth Argyle, never been in the top flight. You know it makes sense 👍

I like your logic , I'll give them a try

haha I just like my FM saves to be a challenge. One of my gripes with the game in the last few years is that it has got too easy. I usually impose rules on myself to try and make it difficult. Can't stand saves where I just win every match

Yeah Schalke is nowhere near a top 4 team at the moment, unless you flip the table upside down. Definitely an interesting rebuilding job, but considering their stature you probably got them up and running in a season or two in FM.

As I don't play in the lower leagues, I have only heard of Portsmouth but from the names I would take Bristol Rovers. Sounds the coolest.

Ajax is always a good save. Can get their bank balance to almost a billion over a decade, winning the league and getting through the group stages each season with ease. Its hard pushing on when selling your best players each window but if you focus on buying 4-5 U16 players each season there is always a depth to bring in

Sassuolo is an interesting option. They have some very good and talented players like Berardi, Locatelli, Boga, Caputo and so on.

But toppling Zebre sucks hahaha

Last couple versions of FM, I always play with Ajax and this year will be the same.

It's not always bad. I did a save in Italy on FM20 and they decided to sign loads of 30+ year olds which meant they quickly became a side only capable of top 4 at best.
