Additional rules: predict the score you think will apply at the end of the game. If the match lasts 90 minutes, your prediction will apply then. If the match lasts 120 minute due to extra time, your score will apply at the end of 120 minutes.

  Let's say all but three games end in regulation. Of the other three games, two go to penalties. To predict that, how many games to do I put for games going to ET: one or three?

All games going to penalties, by default go to extra time, so if you predict three you will get the bonus points. If two of those go to pens you would win those bonus points.

To cover a number of scenarios, I have opted to split those predictions and give different, non-sequential numbers.

So the predictions for games going to extra time and games going to penalties are mutually exclusive. Thanks for clearing that up because that's not at all what I was doing. I had 3 games going into ET, out of which 2 end up in shootouts. So I now had to change my 3 for ET to a 1. Looking at other people's predictions it looks like there are others like me who misunderstood how that's supposed to work. Brace for people being really confused when the scores come in. Complete shambles.

Not quite right Dale. The predictions can be variable...or not. It is your decision. In your example, the criteria is how many matches go to extra time, which is 3. You can predict a different number of games going to penalties if you wish, even a higher number than your prediction for matches going to extra time.

If you wish you can predict in a linear way - x number of games going to et, therefore a lower or equal numbers games going to penalties, or you can think a little more creatively.

    Shambles averted!

@Sons FC do games that go to penalties count in the extra time slot as well,  so for example …

How many matches will go to extra time - 3

How many matches will go to penalties - 2

Means that 3 games go past 90 minutes, not 5

Yes because you can't go to penalties without extra time.

In your example  you're right, it would be three games but you can predict the number of games going to penalties as a higher number than the number of games you predict going to extra time if you wish.

Cant complain, i had a good run and will take away the draw with England as a highlight of my time as mascot

Ive already lost interest in the Euros, let the diddy nations play for bragging rights by winning a 2nd rate piece of tin.

Qatar 2022 is where its at :D

    Perfect!

    Cut you, you bleed tartan.

  9. Well, the day after.

@bestbrother - McBB, first things first - you're sacked as unofficial mascot.

Secondly, the next lesson in being Scottish is that this is it - prepare yourself for live, die, repeat, ad cladem, ad nauseam, ad eternam.

Thirdly, as proud Scots we don't entertain any fanciful, incredulous or other outrageous notions that the Euros extend beyond the group stages.

The COVID years of football has seen so many ducks/runs broken...

    Liverpool win the league

    Leicester win the FA Cup

    Inter win Serie A

    Sporting win the Portuguese League

Leeds back in the Premier League

Im sure there are plenty more, but its the 'era' of going against the grain... Scotland are 1 win away from doing it. 1 win, sounds simple... is it?

    Believe :D

Ive yet to live through the misery, i dont intend to start now!

McBB - our good luck mascot - to see us through.

    Sweden 1-0 Slovakia (predicted 2-0) +1 point (15)

Well done laddie. I can see all that now. I had you down for one point for the Spain game. I will make the change tomorrow.

  12. As Jorg rightly says - today is the day.

Are we up for it - undoubtedly

Are we capable of doing it - undoubtedly

Can we score - getting a bit wobbly

Will we do it - a bit more shoogly

Will we support them all the way regardless - just look at TM's post over the years - Scotland till we die!

@Sons FC Pretty sure I should have 18 points instead of 14. Could you check the math?

I have had a look - you scored 10 in the first round and six in the second round so your score should be 16. Sorry for the two other points. I can't see how you got to 18 - can you let me know how you worked it out?

I will change the table once we agree on the figures.

I can confirm both that (1) you have the right scores up for me (7 and 5) and that (2) I will address an official complaint to the Lausanne Court of Arbitration for Sport for you fixing the weekend matches so almost none of us could get the right result!

This is outrageous. You mutinous, purulent, scurvy-ridden dog. We'll have you flogged round the forums for this - and no walkies!
