Who will score for England - This is flawed @Sons FC
If I predict a 23-0 win to England and list every squad member then I will get 5 points for each correct one?
Only if they score in the game!! But looking at the new table, I can deny you nothing - I have changed the wording slightly to accommodate your munificence!!

Come on lads, match day - get your predictions in. If you are confused by the bonuses ask @The Amazing Dale Watkins- he may be able to help out, or alternatively the old git @SouthCoastRedcan confuse everyone even further!

Let's say all but three games end in regulation. Of the other three games, two go to penalties. To predict that, how many games to do I put for games going to ET: one or three?
All games going to penalties, by default go to extra time, so if you predict three you will get the bonus points. If two of those go to pens you would win those bonus points.
To cover a number of scenarios, I have opted to split those predictions and give different, non-sequential numbers.

So the predictions for games going to extra time and games going to penalties are mutually exclusive. Thanks for clearing that up because that's not at all what I was doing. I had 3 games going into ET, out of which 2 end up in shootouts. So I now had to change my 3 for ET to a 1. Looking at other people's predictions it looks like there are others like me who misunderstood how that's supposed to work. Brace for people being really confused when the scores come in. Complete shambles.
Not quite right Dale. The predictions can be variable...or not. It is your decision. In your example, the criteria is how many matches go to extra time, which is 3. You can predict a different number of games going to penalties if you wish, even a higher number than your prediction for matches going to extra time.
If you wish you can predict in a linear way - x number of games going to et, therefore a lower or equal numbers games going to penalties, or you can think a little more creatively.
Shambles averted!

@Sons FC do games that go to penalties count in the extra time slot as well, so for example …
How many matches will go to extra time - 3
How many matches will go to penalties - 2
Means that 3 games go past 90 minutes, not 5
Yes because you can't go to penalties without extra time.
In your example you're right, it would be three games but you can predict the number of games going to penalties as a higher number than the number of games you predict going to extra time if you wish.

Sons, you've listed 2 games as going to penalties but have only 1 in your predictions.
Thanks Phnom. That's right though - it gives me two chances to get bonus points. It also allows for two penalties scored in normal time.

So to the final gladiatorial munera, that triumphant procession to the last 16 for some, that crowning glory to the memories of past wins and present victims and the promise of challenges and victories to come. For others a desperate, final vestige of the wretched and a valiant but forlorn hope as the final, brutal realisation of what is to come signals the end of this stage of the competition. In the fury of the modern panem et circenses, the baying crowd cheered their favourites as blow after blow was smote and a final coup de grace descended...and with that, Scotland were out.
The surprise scores continued though and very few people scored well from yesterday's matches. The Germany Hungary and the Portugal France games caught almost everyone out but some managed to predict the France game, although it attracted no naps. Nobody predicted Austria beating Ukraine, while almost everyone predicted the Belgian and Netherlands wins and almost all the naps were registered across these two games.
Generally the scoring was higher than in the previous round, with a few exceptions of course. There were an impressive seven naps, with Whoopy D nabbing his second of the tournament. Highest scorer of the round goes to DanielM with a hugely impressive 16 points - very well done to him, aided by his first nap. Darius and Orzelek both scored 15, with a nap each, while JJ, DJ and Phnompen all scored 14, with JJ and DJ doing so without a nap.
At the top, Hazzaj extends his lead by one point and now leads us poor, lesser life forms for a second week and very well done to him for maintaining his lead in such a fiercely contested competition - he is steaming ahead like an express train. JJ moves up one place to second and DJ makes a slight recovery by moving up one place to 3rd. Razzler is the biggest faller in the top ten as he moves down two places. I move up three places to fifth, while Phil drops one to 6th. Lucas and Phnompen look as if they are starting their moves on the leaders by moving up three places each, helped by both scoring their first nap. Pompey drops three places but retains his top ten position and rebs makes a move into the top ten by moving up three places.
Darius, Orzelek and Daniel scored very well and all scored naps, which take them all to the outer edges of the top 10. Darius moves up five places, Orzelek moves up an impressive 10 and Daniel reminds us again that he is both top scorer and highest mover, up a stupendous 17 (17!) places.
Their success is not so good for others. Craig drops out of the top ten, falling five places to 14th, Scott and Whoopy, despite his second nap, go backwards, Scott down three and Whoopy down two.
In mid table, there were mixed fortunes. GunmaN, moves up three places with a decent score of 12, Oriole benefits from a bit of points catch up from the last round when I miscalculated his score and moves up five places, while poor old Av3ry drops 12 places, after rising 17 places last round - bit of a rollercoaster there laddie. Timma (who increasingly looks as though the domestic double (division two and the FA cup predication competitions)) has tired him out, rises six places, while Henrick drops six and Trueblue falls five. The Golden Boy, aided by his first nap and a decent score rises an impressive 14 places - well done GB!
Very mixed scores in the lower end of mid-table, with Reddiablo dropping six, Wolfie rising one place, similar to Oche, the perennial last submitter! while Dale rises a very acceptable three places.
If Hazzaj is moving ahead like a steam train, the lower reaches is more Thomas the Tank Engine and some really did tank! CFuller drops a bruising 11 places, Jaggie not much better with a nine place plummet, McBB falls six and sees his adopted country crash out of the tournament, the old git, southcoastred drops three - it's the heat you know, he can't cope like he used to. Decapitated bucks the lower table trend by rising two places but it is all downhill for Muttley, Constantine and AM99 who all drop two places - it is going to be hard getting out of there guys.
In the relegation spots, Carambau drops one and VP and poor old Rob are unchanged rooted to the bottom.
Big comeback needed here guys!

Well, the day after.
@bestbrother - McBB, first things first - you're sacked as unofficial mascot.
Secondly, the next lesson in being Scottish is that this is it - prepare yourself for live, die, repeat, ad cladem, ad nauseam, ad eternam.
Thirdly, as proud Scots we don't entertain any fanciful, incredulous or other outrageous notions that the Euros extend beyond the group stages.

As Jorg rightly says - today is the day.
Are we up for it - undoubtedly
Are we capable of doing it - undoubtedly
Can we score - getting a bit wobbly
Will we do it - a bit more shoogly
Will we support them all the way regardless - just look at TM's post over the years - Scotland till we die!

I have had a look - you scored 10 in the first round and six in the second round so your score should be 16. Sorry for the two other points. I can't see how you got to 18 - can you let me know how you worked it out?
I will change the table once we agree on the figures.
