Baptista_8
Croatia could cause a few problems here - Modric to dominate the game I reckon. Can't see it myself. PMLF
Just ignore the opening ceremony, it will be just clichés and silly things anyway.
Rob1981
Can't be worse than Danny Boyle's pretentious shitfest for the Olympics. At least there is some sport afterwards, and you don't have to wait until the next day.
Rhino
Just ignore the opening ceremony, it will be just clichés and silly things anyway.Feom my experience of Brazilians, it will just be 2 hours of somebody sourly telling us how bad Brazil are and how rubbish the hosting is. PMLF
Feom my experience of Brazilians, it will just be 2 hours of somebody sourly telling us how bad Brazil are and how rubbish the hosting is. It won't be like that because it will be organized by FIFA and the government here, so they will pretend everything is perfect even though the other description is more accurate. CaptainPlanet
Actually can't tell if that's a wind up or not. Of course it isn't, it was widely regarding as a fantastic opening ceremony. I was brimming with nationalistic pride afterwards, plus, Mr Bean doing Chariots of Fire - HILARIOUS.
daylight
In fairness the olympic opening ceremonies are always worth watching and you can't really compare them to the World Cup opening ceremonies that are always a bit crap.

Razzler
Yeah, I am going to avoid the whole build up thing I think and just tune in 5/10 minutes before the kick-off. I generally cannot stand opening or closing ceremonies. No one really enjoys watching them. Fireworks don't excite me ... I'm a grown up and people dancing and forming various flags also doesn't do a lot
Andrew!
Got to agree with not wanting to watch the ceremony. I'll just switch it on a few minutes before kick-off.
