  1. Congrats @OlivierLthat's a very quick completion. Have added you to the HoF
  2. Didn't take long, few days after winning the league in China we have a new job in Mexico with Club America. They did not have a good season last year.
  3. Sorry, been out all day so only just seen this but yeah you're fine to use him.
  4. Henan Season 2025 Review - Chinese Premier League Transfers - most of our big deal were done at the end of last season but we did get the right back I spent 6 months chasing on summer deadline day. Squad - still too many foreigners but with 3 out of contract this summer that will change that, have managed to really lower the age of the squad by targeting Chinese players and we now have 8 players in the national squad all of whom are 23 or under League - finished 2nd last year and we needed to be better, but it was an odd season in that we won less, got less points and lost less than last season but managed to win the league, very strange, we had a spell over the June/July period where we only won 2 in 8 but the other 6 were all draws, we were playing teams off the park but couldn't finish our dinner. Was very annoying but then we clicked again after the summer and were fine for rest of season. Games we lost came as we rotated due to busy periods but on our day no one could really touch us this year as won the league for the first time in the clubs history FA Cup - won this last year and a rotated side lost at the first hurdle this year Champions League - the big one, no Chinese side had even made the final in this save so it was a big ask. Group stage was a breeze as we won every game, knockouts were a little tough as we lost to Sydney away but turned it around, in the semis Jeonbuk was a real battle, we were 2-0 up away from home before a 88th minute goal gave them a chance, 2nd leg were had a lot of tired legs as we battled for the league as well but looked to have done enough till we got a red card in the 85th minute, they scored on 88 mins and I tried to shut up shop but they almost won it with a couple of chances right at the death. We held on though. The final was more comfortable as we beat the winners of the previous 2 season 1-0 in both legs to become winners for the first time Super Cup - won this on pens after nearly throwing it away Key Players Leo Greiml - shocked he's still here as we spent the summer months fight European clubs off but he's class Thiago Almada - way too good for this level Ollie Watkins - our big signing this season as I wanted a reliable scorer, scored 26 all in, top scorer in both league and champions league despite going on a 12 game drought over the summer months (which might explain our poor run of form over that period as well) Career Overview Season Club Competition Position Notes & Achievements 2020/21 Cape Town Spurs Championship 1st Promotion 2021/22 SuperSport United Premiership 1st League Winners 2022/23 SuperSport United Premiership 1st League, cup and champions league winner. Time to move on again really, couple interesting looking jobs in the America's with Newells being relegated in Argentina and America being 12th in Mexico so have applied for both of those
  5. Sorry I've not checked the thread for a few days so didn't see your completion. Congrats. Have added you.
  6. Before watching the video my instinct was to probably say no, having watched it now I still think no. Which is odd as it's probably the best custom database I've seen but, unlike most custom databases, this one fundamentally changes the way the game is played in not only the US but also in North America. It's way more of a fantasy database than a custom one for me so for now I'm going to say it wouldn't be suitable here. Shame though as looks a lot of fun.
  7. Henan Season 2024 Review League - Really good season from us as we improved a lot this season. We started really well and it took till the 12th or so game before we even lost, 2nd half of the season we stuttered and started to be very up and down where we'd batter teams but then struggle the very next game (for example we only scored 3 goals in our final 5 or 6 away games) and even though we only finished 2 points off the title it felt like the title was gone a long time before the final game. Still though to get the highest points total not to win the league is little annoying but something to build on FA Cup - A nice run in this never playing a side above 7th in the run and played a mid table league 1 side in the final meant we were winners for the first time Transfers - focused mainly on young Chinese players and many of our deals are listed under last season, we got some good fees in as well Squad - improving, still needs some work, now we're in the Champions League and have moved on a few of the foreign players (and hope to shift a couple more this pre season) I will be looking to go bid with the area's I feel we're lacking this transfer window Key Players Leo Greimi - We really missed him during our rocky spell in the middle of the season as he was at the Euro's and then the Olympics - I really don't think I'll be able to keep him for the whole of this next season Thiago Almada - He's excellent but should really be dominating this level of teams, he's either amazing or awful which kinda mirrors our whole team Tong Zhi - My new favourite player, picked him up on a free last season and he's brilliant and only getting better Career Progress Season Club Competition Position Notes & Achievements 2020/21 Cape Town Spurs Championship 1st Promotion 2021/22 SuperSport United Premiership 1st League Winners 2022/23 SuperSport United Premiership 1st League, cup and champions league winner. 8. 2023 - Henan Jianye - Chinese Super League Season Review League - Not really a great deal to say here, we took over with just 6 games to go with the team in 9th place, 4 wins a draw and a loss and we ended in 6th Champions League - Fell at the first hurdle long before we came here FA Cup - same as above. Out at first hurdle before we took over Squad - a lot, and I mean a lot, of work needed here. Have spent my time scouting young Chinese players and have many to target but they're all like 17/18 so won't be good enough to challenge for a couple of seasons, we have too many foreign players already so I need to move a couple on before I can think about bringing in any others. The talent here is not high and needs some attention. This could be a fun challenge. 9. Was out of work for nearly 3 months but have a new job in China with Henan
  10. ACON 2023 This job really did fall into my lap, taking over just 6 months before the nations cup started (that we were hosting) with a team that was just about peaking and where the young players (Diallo at Man Utd for example) had developed well so this was likely to be a short term run. Group Stage Ivory Coast 3-2 Tunisia - an early penalty and a goal just before the break had us looking good, they fought back 2nd half but we grabbed a 3rd and saw it out Ivory Coast 4-0 Angola - another early penalty (this is a theme) and 2 goals right on HT had us 3 up, 3 subs at the break and we added a 4th to rub it in Ivory Coast 4-2 Ethiopia - a completely rotated 11 saw us 2-0 after 20 mins. 2 quick subs and we were 2-2 by HT. A pen just after the break put us in front and we added a 4th to make us look better. Second Round (if applicable) Quarter Final (if applicable) Semi Final (if applicable) 3rd place game (if applicable) Final (if applicable) What's next This felt like South Korea in 2002 with all the calls we got. A penalty in every game bar the semi final feels weird and allowed Franck Kessie finish joint top scorer with 8 goals (6 pens) and taking over 6 months before feels as close to doing a @vikeologist as you can do in international management But that is Africa done now, in the quickest time I've ever done it. Feels weird but on to somewhere new soon I hope Career Overview Season Club Competition Position Notes & Achievements 2020/21 Cape Town Spurs Championship 1st Promotion 2021/22 SuperSport United Premiership 1st League Winners 2022/23 SuperSport United Premiership 1st League, cup and champions league winner. 11. Season 2022/23 Review - SuperSport United South Africa League - On paper it looks a easy win here seeing as we won 26 of the 30 games but thanks to fixture congestion we often had between 2 and 5 games in hand over sides around us so it was only in the final month or so we hit top spot and were able to pull away and secure the title. A lot of rotation was needed this season Champions League - A bit of a struggle here. Zamalek, who knocked us out of the confed cup last season, were hard to beat again in the group stage so we finished 2nd. We then faced Cape Town and this came in a run of 5 games against them in 6 games in 3 different comps. FM in the extreme here! Semi final was the winners from the past 2 seasons and we squeaked through thanks to me going very defensive in the final 10 mins as they really battered us. The final was tighter than I had hoped but we created lots and should have won by a bigger margin but a wins a win MTN8 - Made it to the semi finals. Again. Lost. Again. Telkom Cup - Made it to the semi finals. Again. Lost. Again. Started to fear semi finals were gonna kill me Nedbank Cup - We did our best to fall at the semi final again here as well. Went 1 down and missed a pen in our semi final against a side fighting relegation from the league below but our better players carried us through and again the final looked closer than it felt but was nice to win the cup Transfers - all of our ins are shown in last seasons page as I got our deals done nice and early. The outs were needed as I tried to lower the age of the squad Squad - was getting there in terms of young players Key Players Lyle Foster - what a loan signing he was. 43 goals in 44 games and he even missed 4 pens this season Haashim Domingo - started the season as a rotation option before becoming first choice after the world cup Iqraam Rayners - 20 goals again from the right wing Career Overview Season Club Competition Position Notes & Achievements 2020/21 Cape Town Spurs Championship 1st Promotion 2021/22 SuperSport United Premiership 1st League Winners 2022/23 SuperSport United Premiership 1st League, cup and champions league winner. Good timing as there is a cup of nations this summer (will update that in another post once I've played it) Now will be looking to move on, I really do love South Africa, such fun to build a good squad here but it's time to move on now. This is by far the quickest I've ever done Africa though which is sad to me.
  12. Season 2021/22 Review - SuperSport United - South Africa So thanks to real life it's taken me best part of 2 weeks to finish this season, it's been a struggle to find time but fingers crossed from here I should be able to get a lot more done now. Going to have to if I want to get far in the next 3 months really. League - We dominated this season, hit top spot early and never really looked back, first Orlando Pirates and then Cape Town kept with us but we pulled away with 8 games to go and after a 2-0 win away at Cape Town we had a 13 point lead with 6 games left and cruised home. Record wins, goals and points as well just to rub it in. MTN 8 Cup - this was played early season and at the end I was very worried. The 5-5 with Sundowns was bad seeing as we were 4-1 up in the 90th minute! The two losses to Cape Town followed and it was bad. Team just took time to get used to my tactics was all Nedbank Cup - Awful in this. No idea how we lost in the 2nd round. We had 33 shots to their 8, they hit us on the counter in extra time as we pushed for the win. Telkom Cup - A semi final loss here as well in extra time to Orlando Pirates CAF Confederations Cup - Yet another semi final loss (feel like the OGS of this universe right now!) which was frustrating as aside from a 10 minute spell where Zamalek scored 3 goals we dominated them away from home and lost 3-1. We did beat them 3-2 at home but it wasn't enough Transfers - didn't really do much, just brought in some first team squad players and a couple young players Squad - a little older than I like so have started the process of lowering the age and targeting young players, made a little easier by winning the league Key Players Evans Rusike - 47 goals in 45 games, can't argue with that. 13 pens (he also missed 4 of them) so I don't expect this sort figure next season. I'd be open to selling at his age as well Iqraam Rayners - played mainly from the right (also as a striker when rotating Rusike) and 21 goals and 13 assists from there are great figures. In the odd games that Rusike doesn't score then Rayners usually will Kudakwashe Mahachi - The final part of our front 3, not as prolific but still hit double figures in both goals and assists Career Progress Season Club Competition Position Notes & Achievements 2020/21 Cape Town Spurs Championship 1st Promotion 2021/22 SuperSport United Premiership 1st League Winners Challenge Progress 1/10 top domestic – South Africa (SuperSport United 2022) 0/10 top domestic cups 0/5 club continental 0/1 club world championship 0/5 continental competitions 0/1 world tournaments So yeah like I say, took way longer than I'd have liked this season but should have some more regular updates from me going forward now.
  13. Yeah, also assuming our run to the cup semi final, beating 3 top sides along the way, maybe gave me a short term rep boost in order to get the job.
  14. This feels a little weird but at the end of each season I like to have a little look around at the jobs and this summer both SuperSprt United and Kaizer Chiefs jobs were open, me being me I applied for both, Chiefs didn't even let me interview but SuperSport did and then they offered me the job. Twice the wage budget and a transfer budget of nearly 500K (Cape Town was only 17K0 after they finished 3rd last season. I took it but feels a but soon?
  15. Season 2020/21 Review - Cape Town Spurs League - Going into the season I knew we were probably the best side in the league (partly why I wanted this job) and we were, we should have won the league more comfortably than we did but after a strong start we developed this annoying combination of not taking our chances and giving up easy goals - we actually underperformed our attacking xG and conceded more than we should have. We did win the league though and that was the target. Cup - this might be the toughest cup run I've ever had. We played (and beat) the current league and cup holders, the biggest side in the country and the league winners this season before losing to Orlando Pirates in the semi final. This run does give me hope we can compete after promotion though Transfers - pretty much all done before I took over. I brought no one in as we were overspending on wages already Finances - awful, even for this level. So bad that we couldn't offer any new contacts past the end of this season till they were in the final 3 months of their contracts, as a result we will be losing a lot of our best young players this summer which is bloody annoying Squad - small squad as that's what we had, plan was to bring on the young players but yeah. as said, we've lost a lot of them this summer so feels like a big rebuild is needed this year so we'll see how it goes Key Players Riyaad Norodien - wide man and long shot king. 12 goals and 9 assists Abendingo Mosiatlhaga - man on the other wing was also dangerous with 7 goals and 9 assists Thobani Mncwango - main man up top. 27 goals. Old though so will likely be replaced over the summer as have a couple good young forwards in the wings. Career Overview Season Club Competition Position Notes & Achievements 2020/21 Cape Town Spurs Championship 1st Promotion Challenge Progress 0/10 top domestic 0/10 top domestic cups 0/5 club continental 0/1 club world championship 0/5 continental competitions 0/1 world tournaments
  16. So after finally completing the youth challenge I am of course now setting my sight on my other white whale of FM challenges with this here challenge. My profile and away I go to find a job
  17. Haha yeah it's taken longer than I thought when I started trying it all those years ago The chances have improved yes
  18. Cheers guys. And yeah it's about bloody time I got in there Part of me fancies trying to win the world club cup as well but it's 3 or 4 seasons away
  19. South Shields 2045/46 Season Review - Premier League League - With us winning the league last year my main focus was the Champions League so for this I just wanted top 4. We started OK but both Norwich and Spurs started much better and were quickly away from us, we really struggled with injuries this season and my rotating probably didn't help but going into the new year we sat 3rd and were comfortable, we then lost our best wide players in Matthew Davies 38A to a hamstring injury and then a couple games later my current fave player (his personality is why) Andrew Gent 41A to a broken leg, neither would play again in the league but from the new year we went on a 15 game unbeaten run taking us top with 5 games to go (first time we went top all season) but with 2 games to go we lost 4-3 away to lowly Ipswich meaning we needed to better Norwich's result on the final day to secure back to back to back titles. They drew 0-0 at home to Arsenal while we beat Palace 1-0 and we were champions with the lowest point total ever Champions League - This was my target this season and we had a odd Group Stage where we won the first 3 games before losing the next 2 and drawing the 3rd all without scoring a goal. From there Porto were next and gave us a real battle. 0-0 at home and 1-0 win away put us through to play PSG. This is where I thought our run would end as they're much better than us, we found ourselves 1-0 down after 3 minutes in the first leg when we just turned up and battered them for the rest of the game and won 4-1. The return leg had me worried as we were 2-0 down after 11 minutes, we hang on till HT and I made 3 changes and changed the formation, we grabbed the away goal I wanted from a corner before they scored again, they then scored their 4th with 20 to go meaning we were heading to ET. 2 minutes later, we bundled in a goal from another corner and I shut up shop and killed the game off. Spurs in the semi finals were tough, we again found ourselves 1 down after 3 minutes but we turned it around after the break again to win 2-1 away from home, in the return leg we held them to a 1-1 draw to make our first final. We faced Schalke in said Final and injuries meant I had to rotate a bit and the final was hardly a classic but it was an ealry goal for us which was enough to win us our first ever champions league! FA Cup - a nice run here as aside from Leicester in the 3rd round we faced no other top flight side till Liverpool in the Final - we just didn't turn up on the day and the result should have been more comfortable for them League Cup - Leeds beat a rotated side. Can't make the final in every cup I guess Community Shield -Our first time in this and we had a comfortable win Transfers - a few out for cash but mainly loans as usual Finances - over 500m now Squad - The legends that they are. Couple notable guys I wanted to highlight, firstly our main man in goal Graham Hodges 39D the last 3 seasons where he's been first choice have been our best 3 seasons and having such a quality keeper is a massive help. Shout out to Mubarak Idowu 36C as well as I almost sold him in Jan to China for 30m but he turned it down, am glad he did as he broke back into the side in the 2nd half of the season and ended with 15 assists but the main man is Mark Campbell 31A who hit 20+ league goals for the first time in 5 seasons (and 31 in all comps) he's been the key man for so long now and has 283 goals in 554 league games for us now. Youth Intake - our best one for a while but still not great. Not that it matters now Ross Hugill 46A - attacking player, would work as the 10 when we play 4231 or wide left when we play 433 Marc Franks 46B - another decent looking CB Peter McDermott 46C - trained to be a winger at AMR Career Overview Season League Position Youth Recruitment Youth Coaching Notes & Achievements 2021/22 VNLN 5th Adequate Adequate First coaching badge 2022/23 VNLN 2nd Adequate Good Promoted via playoffs, FA Trophy runners up 2023/24 VNL 16th Average Excellent 2nd coaching badge 2024/25 VNL 12th Average Excellent 3rd coaching badge 2025/26 VNL 6th Average Excellent Promotion via playoffs 2026/27 League Two 1st Good Exceptional Promotion as champions 2027/28 League One 11th Good Exceptional 2028/29 League One 14th Good Exceptional 2029/30 League One 7th Good Exceptional 2030/31 League One 1st Good Exceptional Promoted as champions. 21. I'd also maybe add "load all players from nation" as well just to flesh out teams and leagues. Not sure how detailed the research is on players are in the Japanese lower leagues but the more real players you could get in the better really I think.
  22. Only need a little luck in a game or 2 fluke a Champions League - here's hoping it's this season. A nice one and done I can attest to this - it's a real grind
