  1. Didn't feel quick at times I got very lucky with some moves (Milan especially) as in my head I planned 3 or 4 seasons at least per club till I got to the big 5 and then figured it would maybe be more like 2 seasons per club so it went quicker than I planned. I did enjoy later on in the save coming up against players I'd had elsewhere, I tried not to look at clubs once I left for fear of what the AI had done to them
  2. 2044 European Championship Groups Germany 3-4 France - what an opening game, we went 1-0 in the opening seconds then found ourselves 4-1 up just after HT. Only to then stop defending to allow 2 goals and then defended for our lives for the final 10 mins. Will be hard to top this game France 2-0 Czech Republic - comfortable win against a side we beat in the qualifiers to get here with a goal in the middle of each half to ease us through France 3-1 Croatia - our previous 2 games meant we had won the group so this was a totally rotated side and they did the job and kept our perfect run going 2nd round Quarter Finals Semi Finals Final Career Progress Season Club Competition Position Notes & Achievements 2021/22 Black Leopards Championship 5th Took over after 11 games down in 15th place 2022/23 Black Leopards Championship 1st Promotion. I never thought I'd ever be able to do this tbh so feel weirdly proud of myself Also because I know @vikeologist loves a best 11 here's mine: (all from my time in Europe because I fell in love with my time at 3 clubs here. Plus all player pics from the end of the save so some of these not at their peak) GK: Guillermo Reyes - Probably not the best keeper I had in the save but he was the most consistent. Signed for 4.4m as back up at Dortmund but became 1st choice as we finally dethroned Bayern RB: Marcao - the Brazilian right back was singed from Brentford while at Dortmund and was excellent, was also part of my Brazil team that won the Copa America CB: Thomas Polom - one of my fav players on this save. Scouted loads of international U21 sides and found him, singed for 8.5m and became a rock, turned down moves to other bigger sides to become my rock CB: Antonis Atsaves - was already at Liverpool when I took over and was by far the best defender I managed LB: Tobias Bachthaler - was my biggest signing for quite some time as I paid nearly 50m for him from Bayern, became a key player for my Liverpool side and was still playing for Germany in this past Euros DM: Juruel Meulens - Found this lad playing for Utrecht and cost me around 40m but was excellent in the DM role for my Liverpool side CM: Johnny Wesley - another Liverpool lad as he was at the club when I took over, couldn't get a game for us as ST but when played at CM he was a beast, so much so that he stayed there for 3 seasons and also played that role for my Brazil team CM: Florian Kuhne - was a big fan of this lad, scouted him for a season or 2 before finally getting him for Dortmund as a 21 year old. Was a star as we overtook Bayern and is still world class RW: Mateo Djermoune - Easily my fav player this save. Signed him for 2 sides (Liverpool and Dortmund) and also a key part of my France side. Was just a young player at Porto when my scouts found him and I kinda love him LW: Jean-Marc Labadie - only one from my current PSG side but he's been class. Was my 1st signing for the club and I also gave him a chance for France. In the French league he scores and assists for fun and scored in the Champions league final as well ST: Filippo Fiorito - this was tough as couple of lads come close but he was a goal machine for my Liverpool side. Was playing out wide when I took over but I moved him through the middle and he became the main man. Had a value of 200m at one point
  3. Season 2043/44 Review Supercup - Retained this in a scrappy game won in the 88th minute League - Dominated once again, not as many points as last season but with my focus on the Champions League I rotated a lot around those games to keep people fresh, I also really went into game management mode by killing games off if we were 2 goals up at around the 60 minute mark so we scored less goals as a result. No one could really touch us though and the title was never in doubt. Cup - Wanted to win this after missing out last season, we had easy run to the final and beat Lille 3-0 Champions League - This was my focus, a trophy that has eluded me in 14 seasons managing in Europe. I felt we were 2 or 3 seasons away from winning it but starting as 1st seeds was a massive advantage. Runners up in the group gave us Bayern which I thought was the end of the road, more so when they beat us 2-1 (despite us dominating them) at home. For an hour of the away leg we were 2nd best and then they scored and I thought that was it. However the goal was ruled out and we went up the other end and scored to level the tie. A quick fire double gave us a 3-0 win and put us through. A nervy tie against Atletico Madrid was won 1-0 with a goal from a former Real player gave us a semi against defending champions and my former team Dortmund. 10 of their starting 11 was signed by me which is insane as I left the club 7 years ago but also shows how well I set them up. a 4-2 win away and a nervy 1-1 home draw gave us a final against Man Utd. Transfers - We spent big again but also invested in building for the future Squad - I kinda love this squad, up there with my NYRB and Dortmund squads for being "mine" only 3 players over the age of 25 now in the squad with 2 of them out the door this summer shows how much I have invested in young players. Think we have 4 wonderkids in our starting 11 most games too France Qualified for the Euros by winning every game in our group as I finally settled on a tactic and 95% of the squad Career Progress Season Club Competition Position Notes & Achievements 2021/22 Black Leopards Championship 5th Took over after 11 games down in 15th place 2022/23 Black Leopards Championship 1st Promotion. 4. PSG Season 22042/43 Review Super Cup - Our first game in charge was the super cup against Lyon. A good 3-0 win gave me confidence for the season League - We dominated this season, we won out first 10 games and only conceded 3 times, our first defeat in the league was game 19 in late Jan. No one came close. Most reading this is what you expect from PSG but this PSG isn't the one from the start of the game, the owners have moved on and they had only won 1 title in the last 7 seasons, Lyon are the dominate team here so winning this so easily came as a bit of a shock for me. Cup - This was a let down, comfortable early round wins before being knocked out away to Lyon. Champions League - not being champions meant we were 3rd seeds in the draw which gave us Real and Man City who were too strong for us, we ended 3rd so dropped to the Europa league Europa league - Had a really good run here, I wanted to win it just to give confidence to the players but Chelsea in the Semi finals were too strong, we battered them at home after losing the away leg 2-0 but just couldn't find a way through Transfers - I went into full Harry Redknapp mode here (probably why it took me so long to do this season) as I took over a aging squad, I shipped out as many old players as I could and tried to bring in better or at least those with potential. the work is far from done though so i expect another big turnover this summer. Squad - The issue here is that the squad I took over was the oldest in the league. We had 13 players aged 32 or older with another 2 or 3 coming in on free transfers before I started. We shipped many off but still had 8 left during the season. Most will be gone this summer either moving on or because they're retiring. The other issue with so many older players is that they were all on massive wages so the savings we'll make there this summer will allow me to splurge again in the transfer marker. We don't need much really, new keeper and some squad depth mainly. International After the World Cup a few international jobs came up as usual and I was offered roles with Holland, Spain, and France. As I was already PSG manager I felt France was the way to go. It's not been plain sailing here as for the first time in a while I've really struggled to find the right players to suit my system so used the nations league to try different systems and players out. It did not go well. We finished 3rd and lost all 3 games at home and needed a win away to Romania in the final group game to ensure we stayed up. Since then I've gone back to my routes and playing with the system that has won me everything in this save. We have the Euros next summer and it's the final international trophy left for me. Qualification is really just starting now so will update on that at the end of the next PSG season. 5. So yeah after Madrid I did resign in the hopes of starting a manager merry go round that would leave me a role in France. The first part went well in that it did cause a merry go round but sadly only in England and Germany So I had to wait out an entire season but finally got the PSG job. They're not the team we all know from the start, the owners have moved on and in fact Lyon have won 6 of the last 7 league titles and they've never won the Champions League so the plan is to make this my last role and build this club up to the top.
  6. Real Madrid Season 2040/41 Review League - This is such a rare thing for me in this journey to take over the best side in the country, only other times it's happened has been back in the early days with Sundowns and then again with Salzburg, so taking over a Real side that had won the past 3 titles this wasn't as tough as it could have been. We lost my first game in charge before winning 23 of the next 24 games before we just kind of fell apart. I assume it was age catching up us, we had a very old squad, but after such a run we lost 3 of our last 12 while just about beating sides we should have been smashing but it was enough to secure the title with 3 games to go. Cup - Was a good run before a narrow win in the final Champions League - I'm starting to hate this competition now. I just can not do anything in the knock out stages. The Red Bull game was our only defeat in the cup and wa sone of those games where they had 3 shots and scored each one while we couldn have played for a week without scoring the goals we needed. SuperCup - Couple 1-0 wins at the turn of the year won us this and in fact was part 1 of our domestic treble Transfers - There's not a lot of money here and it's an old squad so all the transfers I made were in Jan and were all youngsters Squad - Like I say, it's an old squad and I think this was their last hurrah as it's going to require significant rebuilding this summer Career Progress Season Club Competition Position Notes & Achievements 2021/22 Black Leopards Championship 5th Took over after 11 games down in 15th place 2022/23 Black Leopards Championship 1st Promotion. I really don't know what to do now. I need the French league (and another cup) along with the Champions League so the sensible thing would be to stay here for another crack at it but the finances are so bad that I'm thinking of leaving and waiting for a job in France.
  7. Just catching up with the thread and seen this. Well done and have added you to the HoF
  8. Sorry for late reply, crazy day. Not to sure about this umm, maybe just post up your season by season transfer history so we can see there's no signings (probably best pop them in spoiler tags though so as not to take up the whole page) and also the Champions League run and league table of the seasons you won those?
  9. 2 seasons without a club job is over as Zinedine Zidane takes over at RB Leipzig and left a job open at Real Madrid. They've won the last 3 titles so pressure on. As usual it's an old team so I need to start rebuilding and do it while winning.
  10. Copa America 2040 Review - Brazil Group Stage Ecuador 0-1 Brazil - a nervy game saw us grab the win with a goal 10 minutes before HT Brazil 4-0 Costa Rica - the games come every 3 or so days in the group stage so every other game I rotated the starting 11 and the rotated side cruised here Brazil 7-0 Peru - first team smashed a very poor Peru side Brazil 3-0 Bolivia - our rotated team beat the hosts Columbia 1-1 Brazil - our main South American rivals here and we took an early lead and basically, no matter what I did, just tried to ride out the game and as a result Columbia battered us but it took them till the 87th minute to score. We held on to secure the group win over them Quarter Finals (If applicable) Semi Finals (If applicable) Final (If applicable) Aftermath After 4 years with Brazil I left and currently have no job at all as in the 2 years since I left AC Milan I have not found a single job. No top sides in France of Spain have changed managers but all the top clubs in England and Italy seem to have but they just seem to move between leagues annoyingly. We did come close a couple of times in Barcelona job was very insecure but then they won the Champions league. Man City job was open (and they not once but twice offered me an interview) and the PSG manager was favourite for it but in the end they appointed Arteta who had replaced me years ago at Dortmund. Euro's about to finish though so hoping that will free up a job somewhere. I still need to win the Euro's but think I may wait till after the World Cup in 2 years to get a European nation so i can focus on club football first. 13. AC Milan Season 2027/38 Review League - As previously said we took over after 14 games sitting in 6th but we were only 7 points off the top and only a point off of 4th which was the first target. We had 2 games before the winter break a win over Parma and a loss to Inter left me feeling like a lot of work was needed from us. As a result I decided that in jan I would make a start on rebuilding the squad which meant moving old players on and bringing in younger players to develop (my standard move really) we had a run of bottom half teams in Jan which meant we built some form and confidence but something wasn't clicking and then in Fen we had a game at Roma that changed everything. We lost 1-0 despite being the better side and for the first time I felt I needed to change our tactics. My best DM was also our best CB and I couldn't find anyone in Jan to play the role so was trying out different players but no one really worked so I got rid of the DM, moved him to AMC and went from 433 to 4231 and well we just clicked (who knew putting your best players in their best roles instead of shoehorning them into your preferred set up would work?) In the final 12 games of the season we won 10 and drew 2 (including 2-2 with Inter when he had a 95th minute goal ruled out) which meant we overtook Inter at the top and won the league by 2 points. Champions League - Ironically we were in the same group as my previous side Dortmund but as Dortmund manager I had already won the group before moving. We beat Molde in my first game in charge to secure 2nd. Gave us Lyon (best side in France now PSG have new owners) a good home win before a narrow away loss saw us through. Man Utd next a good win at home before holding them 0-0 away put us in the semi finals. City smashed us. We didn't lay a glove on them and I hate them. They or Bayern have made the final every single season in this save and have played each other 4 times in the final alone. Champions League might be my white whale of this save now Cup - A nice routine run to the final where we beat Inter. the confidence from this saw us over the line in the league Transfers - as you can tell, in Jan I sold old players and started to bring in players for the next few years Squad - It's a work in process but ended up being enough to win the league (they were a squad that had finished 2nd in 4 of the previous 5 seasons so the quailty was always there) Career Overview Season Club Competition Position Notes & Achievements 2021/22 Black Leopards Championship 5th Took over after 11 games down in 15th place 2022/23 Black Leopards Championship 1st Promotion. Have the world cup this summer (my Brazil side will be aiming for the win) so hoping some jobs in france or Spain come up from that. Might just leave Milan now rather than wait though. We'll see.
  14. After winning the league and cup last season my plan was to stay with Dortmund to try and win the Champions League but with an eye on the job market and well in December a job I liked became open so off to Italy with AC Milan I go. We sat 6th after 14 games with just top 4 to aim for this year.

  16. Borussia Dortmund Season 2036/37 Season Review Super Cup - Start of the season that had me hoping this was our year and 2-0 up with 30 minutes to go I was ready to crown us champions! Bayern had other ideas and just steamrolled us 4-2. League - After the Super Cup I did think we were maybe a little way off still and our start in the league showed that as we early on threw away a 2 goal lead away at Leverkusen this time, just before the break Bayern turned up at our place and won 1-0 and we were 5 points clear and I signed a new 4 year deal as I felt we were still a little early in our cycle. In the opening 19 games in fact Bayern won 16 and drew 3 but then something strange happened as Bayern lost it. In the final 15 games they lost 5 times - as much as they had lost in the previous 2 season combined! Which meant we headed to Bayern with 3 games to go and won 2-1 to win the league for the first time since 2012!! 25 years of Bayern winning had come to an end Champions League - We won our group easily really and also dispatched Juventus while rotating the side a lot but then faced holders Barcelona a 1-0 home win and a 2-2 draw after extra time (after 115 mins we were out - 3 mins later we were through) set up a semi final with bayern. A 2-0 home win 3 days after we'd beat them to win the league had me comfortable, the away leg was...harsh. We held them off for 66 minutes but then we made it 1-1 on the night 2 mins later. 86 mins in and we're through, we give away a dumb penalty. 2-1 down still sees us through, we shut up and lock them out till the 5th minute of injury time (of 4 mins I'll add) extra time comes and right after our last sub we lose our RB to injury, down to 10 men we score again. 2 mins in to injury time of first half and they score again. Goes to pens. Both sides score their first 4 then they miss. With a chance to win we miss as well. 7th pen for them is a miss. This is our time now. We miss. They score their next 3, we score our next 2 before a 3rd miss and we're out. Champions league is becoming my holy grail now Cup - A tough run having to beat Bayern and Red Bull but we made it and the final was routine Transfers - I went big on 2 players this season as we're at the stage where we only needed minor tweaks to the squad Squad - fully my squad now. Only 5 players remain from me taking over and 2 will be going this summer. I like this side I really do In the summer I also took on the Brazil job we've played 8 games, winning 6and have now Qualified for Wold Cup Career Progress Season Club Competition Position Notes & Achievements 2021/22 Black Leopards Championship 5th Took over after 11 games down in 15th place 2022/23 Black Leopards Championship 1st Promotion. 17. Borussia Dortmund 2035/36 Season Review Honestly this was in equal measure one of the most fun and also frustrating seasons I've managed in quite some time Supercup - This was a worrying sign, Bayern smashed us here. They scored 2 goals by HT and then had a man sent off right after the break and not only could we still not lay a love on them they scored 3 goals while a man down. This game though caused me to have rethink about my tactics in these games as playing like I do against everyone else just sees me get battered so I needed to come up with a different tactic for these games. Not just Bayern but also the bigger sides in the Champions League League - Nearly beat Dortmunds best points total ever, joint best ever total for wins, took 4 points off of Bayern, won every single home game over the season. Still finished 8 points behind Bayern. I hate them, they are a monster and I must beat them. Due to some issues in the transfer window we started the season a little disjointed, we lost 3 games (all by 4 goals) and our title challenge was over by November really, however we only lost once after November and in fact in the 2nd half of the season we only dropped points in 3 games which gives me hope for next season. We don't need to add much over the summer so should have a very settled side going into next year Cup - this annoyed me, we came into this game with 7 straight wins without conceding a single goal, I rotated against a side in the league below and we paid the price. We should have done much better Champions league - a great here as we won our group despite me using back ups really as I tried to work on a new tactic for the bigger games it worked as we won the group, our reward was Man utd who ran us very close but extra was enough to see us through, we brushed past Inter before a semi final with another side I now dislike Man City. They beat us in my previous 2 seasons here at Dortmund and they won the title both times. A good draw away at City in the first leg gave me hope and we were the better side in the 2nd leg hitting the post 2 or 3 times but a Foden free kick and a late Haaland goal broke our hearts as City knock us out for the 3rd year running. This time they lost the final to a Xavi managed Barcelona. Transfers - As said earlier I had a rough summer in the transfer market. I missed out on several players I had spent a year or so finding and scouting (bloody English clubs and their money) so I had a rethink and then basically done a Bayern in signing the best young players in the league as well as a couple I found elsewhere. meaning we start most games now with 6 or 7 actual wonderkids and my hope is that they grow as a group Squad - as you can see it's now pretty young squad (2nd youngest with an average of 23) and everyone gets game time. Still 1 or 2 area's to target this summer and a couple older players I would move on for the right price but the team is ehading in the right direction. At least I hope so. Like I say, I need to beat Bayern. This is the toughest and yet most fun challenge in this save so far for me. I fear I may have to leave and return one day as Bayern manager to win here in Germany but I don't want that, I want to do it with this Dortmund squad I'm starting to really love managing. In terms of international jobs (this was first season in a few years I've not also had a international role) I still need the Euro's and Copa America - both of which happen this summer so I'll keep an eye for any decent jobs but may wait a couple years for after the world cup instead so I can focus on the job at Dortmund.
  18. Gold Cup 2035 - Mexico Going into this tournament I really didn't know what to expect from us. I took over after winning the World Cup with England and in the year here we had no competitive games just friendlies which meant I never really was able to play or even really work out my strongest team. As a result we only won 4 of the 8 games I managed (losing 3) leading into this. I felt confident we'd reach the semis at least but a lot of it was just hoping the team I had settled on was my best and that I wouldn't regret dropping a couple of the older players in favour of playing some talented youngsters - as is my way Group Stage - These were pretty straight forward really beating Guadeloupe 7-0 and Suriname 4-0 meant we qualified from the group with a game to spare. In the final group game I rested my entire 11 with the quarter finals a few days later, after an early scare we beat El Salvador 4-2 to win the group Quarter Finals (if applicable) Semi Finals (if applicable) Final (if applicable) What's Next? I've left Mexico now as I really do need to focus on Dortmund for a bit, and need a season with no international management for a bit. End of this season there is a Copa America as well as a Euro's so I may go for a job, if an interesting one appears, but for now it's time to focus on club football as I ret and work out how to break this Bayern side down.
