Does anyone else have a problem making Maximised Borderless Windowed mode stay set?

Every time I reload FM16, it's going back to regular windowed mode, and I'm having to go back into the preferences screen to set it.

Not the end of the world, just a bit irritating.

I have to say this is the best Beta release of FM I've ever seen; and the lack of the usual annual hysteria on these hallowed pages seems to suggest many others agree. Well done all involved.

The star ratings for staff seem a bit confusing this year.

Someone has 5 grey stars

Other ppl have maybe 2 gold stars

Is their anywhere to see the entire ratings lists for me to make some sense of it all :)

Go to your squad screen, right click on a blank area in the line where it says 'position selected', 'age', 'morale', 'apps' etc. This will give you options to add columns into the squad view. If you look under coaching, you can add your coach's opinion on the players current and potential ability. Sort it how you like, and you'll have a full list of the star ratings for you to see. As an example, here's my current awful squad of sub-standard part time dustmen and painters....

General impression is that im having a bit of difficulty bringing players back in from injuries. They seem to get setback and suffer new injuries a little bit too often - even trying to bring on for 30 minutes or so often seems to result in an injury (and trying to get match fitness in reserves seems like I may as well just put them in a lion cage). It could just to be coincidence however

Are you talking about the star ratings for players or their roles? Nothing has been changed there. Just hover your mouse over the rating to get the tooltip.

Is is just my wrong impression or this year you aren't able to see the full attributes even if you set it in building the game? to me De-masking the attributes means that you can see the full list and the exact figure of each quality, while now I can see just a range (bar for my players). Is there anoter setting? in the previous years i remember it was different

Its hidden in "advanced options" - you have to click it to see the options

Has anyone been able to give a reason for accepting a transfer offer? I feel like I maybe have once or twice, but there have definitely been a handful of transfers where I haven't been able to.

Is it only supposed to happen when you accept from certain screens? I'm only talking about individual bids, not selecting multi from transfer centre

Can anyone clarify

If get staff meeting feedback about changing mentality for the next game (e.g. Attacking to Standard) and you click on it, does it change for one game or does it become your new tactic from then on.

Similarly, if you get told that the player you currently have at e.g. IWB is better as a FB and you click to effect the advice, does it apply for only when that player is in that spot or does it become your new tactic from then on

Does anyone else feel like you get too many news items saying you are interested in players you have scouted.

I fully agree there should be leaks leading to speculative stories but in my most recent click of continue I got 6 news items talking about me being interest in players I got scout reports from that day - and 3 of them were worded identically. I'm not even at a massive club

Any mod/SI thoughts on any of these?

Should be able to always do so when accepting a transfer.

In short

1 - I only get the option to give reasons it when rejecting loans

2 - I mean in the periodical staff meetings, sorry

3 - I get up to 9 per click of continue (when scouting queue it massively long). Should this be altered or am I just to blame for misusing scouting.

Started a game with FC Paris. Found my three loanees injured within the first two days of my save. First two received the same injury (weights room damage and 6-8 weeks out) and the last one a sports hernia (4 months). Bit harsh considering I'd been playing for the best part of 5 mins. I hadn't altered training intensities at this point but perhaps I'll lower them on my next save start. Not got far enough into it to make many other observations.

You've definitely got masking on ... you can't change mid game, it is in the advanced options upon starting a new game like in previous years.

thanks a lot, even if it's still unclear whether there's a double option in the initial settings...i've disable masking but i've still got range instead of exact figures...is there A FURTHER de-masking option???

No, only the one, are you sure you disabled it?, I would start a new game and just check to see if its checked or not.

No, I didn't think it was a bug, just the way the game is set up. I normally play full screen, but I actually quite like the way it starts in windowed mode, as I'm often on the net when the game is loading up, and its sometimes annoying when the full screen changes to the game, so I think it's a good addition, bug or not! But that's just me, I can appreciate how annoying it might be to others.

Yeah the Maximised borderless issue is a known one and should be fixed for release. Thanks.

I like the new fitness test thing before a game, however my AM said one of my strikers who had been injured had passed a fitness test and would be able to play with minimal risk for further injury, however he's still listed with an 'orange' injury icon next to him. It's probably just my years experience of never starting a player with that icon next to him, but is this right? I didn't start him, but one of my other strikers is knackered 70mins into this game, and he's the only available striker on the bench. I'm totally hardcoded not to play these players!

I had the same thing in my game, a striker went off with a facial injury in a game then saw a specialist about having a mask to let him play. I played him and there wasn't any complications.

If the physio says there will be minimal complications then it could be worth the risk having him as a sub if you're short handed.

I think we may have to become un-hardcoded to not play players when there's minimal risk.

Well, my initial annoyances at this game are slowly melting away, and I'm thoroughly enjoying my LLM save with Truro now. Been a rough start, but I'm paying more attention to specific player roles (now that its easier to see this in the tactics screen) and also the coaches feedback. Match day really does feel more immersive because of this. People moan about all the gimmicky new feaures, but the extra attention to detail on matchday is the biggest step forward for me in the game this year. Good work chaps.

My only bug bears right now are that the game appears to be slow a t times, much slower than last years. Iit also seems to be unable to look at the internet whilst playing. I'm not talking about anything demanding, just this website. It really lags.

I'm not sure that this is a bug, (hence why I am posting it in here), but I'm certainly not happy with it.

I have just played a game with a really poor kit clash. This really just shouldn't happen.

Red and white v White and red.

My own team in real life play in red with white sleeves (Stirling, although not for the last two seasons), and years ago our away kit was the opposite, so I've seen that happen in real life before, although it's not so common now. Most teams now have completely different colours on their away kits.

MATCH INFORMATION SCREEN

Is there any settings anywhere so that the match information panel during a match can be be made smaller ie one tab wide instead of two, or even more opaque so that I can read the other tabs during the highlights - as you will see from the attached screen shot the other tabs appear behind it and are unreadable when this panel is up.

I had to restart a couple of times to make sure i had it ticked - the option isnt overly obvious so its very easy to miss when you are starting a new game

Anyone made it in a year or two? How are transfer offers looking?

I'm getting a lot of offers that's basically around the player value, but much lower than asking price. Maybe it's because I'm at a relatively low rep club, I don't know.

In example Corchia is valued at £14.25m, asked to leave due to interest from Napoli. I told him I would accept a reasonable bid. Asking price was £25m. Min release clause £30m.

I get a non-negotiable offer from Leverkusen of £8m + appearance clauses taking it up to a total of £15m which I reject saying 'Offer too low'.

He get's upset and now is unhappy and complaining to team mates. Trying to explain to him the the offer was too low was futile.

Same thing happened with Idrissa Gueye. Asking price of £15m, got a non-negotiable offer of £6m (player value)

Amavi, absolutely does not want to sell him and he has not asked to leave. Asking price is £30m, player value is £6.25m. Just got a non-negotiable offer of £3.1m with clauses taking it up to £5.25m. Just trying to unsettle my players? It's working!

I'm guessing you are right, but that has never been an issue in previous games. I have played in the lower reaches of NI most years, although I don't come from there, & since the 2nd division was implemented in the game it always listed their appearances.

I agree; the depth of accuracy in FM has always been one of its standout points for me. Therefore it's a shame that this omission is in FM16.

It might be worth posting something in the Database and Research Errors section of the Bugs forum. If something has been omitted by mistake they could rectify it by release. Especially if you've seen all this info in past versions.

Player stat range after scouting/trials

I missed last year's FM, so apologies if this is not such a new addition to FM, but how long does it take for a player's stat range to be more accurate?

I've scouted a number of players for quite a few weeks now (in matches) and I've still got a range of 3-4 for all stats. I also had a striker on trial and still didn't get a definite value for any of his stats. Is this very dependent on the ability of your coaches and scouts, or does it just take longer by default now? I'm playing as lowly Loughgall FC, so it's not like I have the best coaching staff. I'm also not the most talented manager stat-wise.

I do sort of like things as they are. It seems more accurate as it should take a while to know a player's full ability. I'm just curious how long I can expect to wait before I know a player accurately. Will I even see stat ranges after he's signed? I expect I need to take gambles from time to time. That excites me for some reason, and mainly because it was far too easy to sign only quality players in past editions of FM.

They changed this during last year's lifecycle. When the game first came out, all you had to do was take a player on trial, and you'd see his full stats immediately. This made LLM a bit to easy with the gamble that is signing free agents. It was changed on one of the updates.

The more you scout a player, the more his stats will crystallise. It can take longer depending on the quality of your staff. However, once you sign him permanently, the full stats should appear. Makes LLM much more of a challenge.

4 months out is was i'm getting.

Aguero is the new Jovetic, out for 4 months gets fits, plays 40 mins, picks up an injury and out for 4 months again.

I note he is now down as being injury prone, i hope this doesn't render him useless.

Quick one on Aguero - his injury proneness hasn't changed from last year, and I think it's fair to say that he is unfortunately an injury prone player in reality.

Hi, i must report that i played 10 games in fm 2016 with liverpool...my tactic rules..in every game i have possession of ball, shots aprox. 3 times more than my opponent, but i won only 4 games, lose 4 and 2 draw..this is obviously bug because i was far better team in every game and have won only 4 time... 4 times lose 1-0. To much woodwork.

"Too much" needs to be properly defined by numbers. If you have a streak of games where the woodwork has been hit "too much" then please report it in the ME bugs forum with the relevant save or PKMs.

It's the same ME for the AI, how come their 'woodwork' wasn't too high? Post your tactic and let the community see if they can help. It can't be that great a tactic if you've not won six of the ten games you've played, no matter how much you perceive your team is dominating.

Only played a few pre season games but am loving it so far

My only gripes are the blurring when saving etc ( although saving does seem faster than last year (I wonder if this is part of the reason why?))

Also, on the home screen where I have the player stats widget selected, the little pictures are unnecessary and mean that I cant fit the 7 stats in without scrolling. Is there a way to remove these?
