Also, Spain will think that 7/8 times out of 10, they beat Germany. But a Germany floating around in the tournament could knock out another big beast who Spain do worry about.

In that scenario they only go out if Costa Rica beat Germany because of their goal difference. Unless Germany hammer a truck load of course.

Well yes, but they'd have to lose by a lot or Germany would have to thump Costa Rica even harder than Spain did. Both... rather unlikely.

They would need to lose by about 5 or 6 goals, but yeh.

What a draw does really is keep Spain interested in that final game. They have to play properly and probably with a decent strength team. That helps Germany.

Other than Croatia-Belgium matchup, Argentina is the only favorite that could get eliminated, everything else is according to predictions.
