It's the Al Thumama Stadium, which you might remember from Senegal vs Netherlands on Day 2.

Spain

A bit like Germany for me, not first choice favourites or anything, but lots of talented players, never write them off. Reached the semis of the Euros and arguably were the better team against Italy in that match.

Costa Rica

Had their best ever World Cup in 2014, reaching the quarter finals. Not sure they have produced much fresh talent to repeat that feat though. Best known player possibly Keylor Navas, the goalkeeper.

Head to Head

This is the first time these teams have faced each other in a competitive game.

TV Coverage

Woodsy + Nev Souness Aluko. Commentary from Clive and Dixon.

Spirit of 2014

Costa Rica need some of this today.

"Keylor Navas: most overrated goalkeeper in world football."

- Lee Michael Dixon, 2018

This could be fun. :p

Predicted a 3-1 Spain win, but after recent results, and after seeing Rodri at centre-back... er, congratulations, Costa Rica! :D

Busquets can't tackle so surely he'll be in midfield. He'd be a total liability near the box with players running at him.

Total waste of Rodri's ability on and off the ball to have him in CB though.

Whichever one is DEF makes no sense though.

Spain's starting lineup consists of 3 washed up players past it, a DM playing as CB, two teenagers, two players who barely get minutes in meaningful games, one player who's just coming back from injury and Laporte.

12/1 for a Costa Rica win just before KO.
