Think you're discrediting Pellegrini there. He did well when Malaga was cash-strapped and was Real Madrid manager where did a decent job. He's won the league already and doesn't have a "character" like Mourinho does. Definitely wont say not winning last season to a really (then)strong Chelsea side is underachieving. He'll definitely do a steady job here, but if Woodwood wants Mourinho then by all means.

That's a bit revisionist. He did a decent at Malaga when they were flush and spent over €75m (plus some high profile frees), then dropped off when it dried up. At Real he had Kaka, Xabi Alonso, Benzema and Ronaldo bought for him (which he claimed wasn't sufficient), was embarrassed in the del Rey, whimpered out of the CL against Lyon, and failed to win the league. At city he's largely tread water considering what he inherited, the resources available to him, and the state of the other top teams.

Ultimately flatters to deceive with big money clubs. Obviously impressed at Villarreal but that's all a touch Moyes.

Donald Love and Joel Pereira added to the Europa League squad on the B list. Regan Poole is on the A list.

bet that's got the rest of the teams shaking in their boots :D

all jokes aside lets hope they benefit from the experience, from what I have seen of u21 its not all doom and gloom , at least 3 look real quality

Tbh, I'm not sure setting up cautiously is a bad thing away to Chelsea. It's when we do it at home to the likes of West Brom and Newcastle that is the problem. Yes we need to attack but we need to not be gung ho.

Tough to give that up but well played. DLP Mike and Free Roll Mata seem to make a big difference.

CBJ is so inexperienced and Blind is just not up to it at the death bc he isn't a CB! Just watch Blind on the goal and try not to cringe. Awful.

BSD ridiculous again. MoM.

Up until 1-0 we dominated most of that game. Knew when Depay messed up that chance when we should have been in for a second they would go up the other end and score. Individual mistake from CBJ.

1 point is usually a good point at the bridge but not when its a poor Chelsea and everyone bar City above us has won. It looks like top 4 wont happen this season. 6 points behind 4th.

Gah, that's frustrating.

Great start to the game, keeping up that attacking guile we pulled from nowhere against Stoke. Similarly to Stoke though we looked pretty lucky to not concede on a few occasions. de Gea such a ninja-cat at times.

Schneiderlin passing the ball back to Smalling whilst he's lying on the ground :D Great idea. Also, Depay comes on and completely ****s a really promising attack. If the ball on became anything less than easy just hold it up ffs.

This feels like a loss.

They were there for the taking. Sad to see CBJ make such a mistake, but lets hope he learns from it at least.

Top 4 looks very difficult right now. City probably in "worst" form, but can't see them dropping out. The only way we can force ourselves into the CL next season is a long row of wins. At least we've played better the last few matches, so maybe not entirely impossible, but it feels like we're out of it. 2 big points dropped.

Moyes and LvG have led United into a new era.... you have a five team battle for 5th and Europa League qualification to look forward to!

Damn. :(

Feels like a loss that. Have no idea why Blind didn't just stay with Costa instead of rushing out like he did to try and get to the ball. If he stays with Costa, chances are we don't concede that.

Knew as soon as Depay gave the ball away that they would score on the counter. The thought went through my mind when he first came on. Really, really frustrating. He has no confidence whatsoever at this point, needs to really get his head down and sort himself out because he's flopped big time so far. Doubt Lingard would have messed up like that. The pass to Morgan was late and so casual, just an half hearted attempt and then to add to it he doesn't even rush back to help defend his mistake.

Can't be too hard on CBJ for playing Costa on as he is only 19 and thrust into the first team due to injuries and I guess it was just a lack of concentration at the end of a game. Memphis and then Blind more at fault imo.

We pretty much carried on from the previous two games which was nice to see, Chelsea had a few chances too and with better finishing they'd have taken the lead. DDG MOTM for me. God knows where we would be if it wasn't for him this season.

In hindsight we shouldn't have taken off Fellaini for Morgan, after that sub we just sat back and invited pressure.

Top four pretty much gone now I reckon, we had to win today and didn't. Hard to see us getting in now, best chance of CL football next season is by winning the EL. I'd say that should take precedence over the league now.

Leicester aren't going to finish outside the top four, can't see Spurs slipping out either, we could pip one of City or Arsenal to it but I doubt it, they all play each other next weekend and we've got Sunderland away, which should be a straightforward win but you never know with this season. If we can win that one and hope Leicester and Spurs win their games then it closes the gap and we still have Leicester and Arsenal to play at OT and City and Spurs away. You never know but it's looking unlikely.
