martinji
Germany vs US to play out a dull 0-0? I'll certainly be checking out the odds on that

Andrew_
Yeah, they'll just play out a draw. Why would one risk going out
JD nawrat
The lulz continues. Thought it was Eder for a sec Me too Would've been hilarious if it was.
aggressive minor
Two poor teams, Portugal look a shadow of any of their previous teams over the last 10 years. Great cross at the end...
kontermann
USA v Germany draw then. Yep. Football, bloody hell
JD nawrat
US were so close to qualifying there. Now there's a serious chance they won't do it (Ghana win, USA lose, USA are out). I still think they'll do it though. I think Ghana and Portugal will draw.
G-Man11
Not at all  You are making it sound like I'm an American or some megafan of them or something. I've just stated I've been impressed by them and think on the showing of their world cup so far, they're the best side in their group. I don't expect them to top their group and I'm sure Germany will beat them. You don't expect the side that have been easily the best in the group to finish top?
tony_cfc
Can't see them swinging that goal diff tbh.
av3ry
USA bottled it. All Bradley had to do was control the ball. Cost me money too, not happy.
JD nawrat
You don't expect the side that have been easily the best in the group to finish top? No because despite being the best side in the group, they've not faced the toughest side yet. noikeee
I wish Varela hadn't scored that, now we're in a black hole of virtually inexistent false hope similar to what England was the other day before the Italy-Costa Rica game.
football_master_94
That's a brilliant header from Varela, looking back at that goal. JD not letting go of the 'US best side in group' routine

aggressive minor
Can't see them swinging that goal diff tbh. They need to beat Ghana 2-0 and Germany to beat USA by a few. I think the absence of Pepe and Coentrao was really telling today. edit- ignore the 2-0 Ghana part, I was thinking Ghana had 4 points for some reason. PMLF
USA and Germany can just draw in the last game and both advance, I wonder if they will do that, it's very convenient for both.
georginho_juventusygr
Great game. USA got heartbreak, which is a part of life and which Klinsmann, as a great man, can understand. USA will certainly come back stronger. They played very well. I feel for Cristiano Ronaldo. Portugal stink. He's the only world-class player, but he did his best today for his country. Nani, too. ReggaeBwoy
Feel bad for USA. Hope Germany and USA get a draw so both go through. Can see Ghana wiping Portugal off the floor judging by their performance tonight. Anyway Ronaldo cheer up you moany, self-indulgent ****. You lot score a last minute equalizer and you just walk away and don't celebrate. Hate seeing things like that.

I'm sure America will want to win to top their group and I'm sure Germany will not want to lose. I don't think it'll be a high intensity game, but they won't 'settle' for anything. TM
Ronaldo probably knows they are out unless he can score 3 or 4 against Ghana think the US/Germany could be a really good game actually, wouldn't be surprised if it finishes a draw as Germany's defence is vulnerable

tony_cfc
Chasing a big score doesn't suit this Portugal team. They were at their best playing on the counter attack in that game in Sweden. Don't have the central striker to dominate and put teams on the back foot.

PMLF
Biscotto! Indeed! This concept is pretty common here too although it doesn't have a proper established name (we can say 'jogo de compadres' something like 'game of friends' though).

Ricky Riccardo
most undeserved draw I have seen, portugal outplayed by mls stars! here's hoping usa and germany all sit down for 90 minutes and don't move, that would be epic
JD nawrat
What if it is a draw? I don't understand your point? If it's a draw it's a draw - it suits both. But they won't play for the draw. Both sides will want to win.
