Neither teams won their first game, can either of the XI's below pick up three points today?

History at the World Cup?

Croatia: Third place in 1998, finalists in 2018.

Canada: Yet to score a goal, second tournament after 1986.

History between the teams?

First ever head to head!

How did they get here?

Croatia - needed a late goal in their final game against Russia to win their group without needing to go through the playoffs.

Canada - won the CONCACAF round robin

Consequences?

Croatia win and Canada are out. Canada win and it's an ALL TO PLAY FOR final day with too many permutations for me to do now. Draw and both teams need to win on the final day to progress.

Venue: Khalifa International Stadium - I don't know the differences between any of the stadiums yet.

Hoping Canada have the same intensity as they did on Wednesday, presumably Perisic will score as he seems to in all major tournaments.

Croatia look a pale shadow of their old selves (even Modric, to a point) and might be vulnerable here.

Canada's wait for a first World Cup goal has been almost as long as a typical Rush album. After wasting 352 shots against Belgium, they need to create better chances - but can they finish them?

Yes, I think they can. I'm going for a score draw.

Should be an easy win because of multiple reasons.

Firstly, Croatia's second game in the groups is always the best.

Second, the team doesn't ever perform unless they have to.

Third, it's way easier to play against teams that want to press high than against defensive setups like Morocco had.

Fourth, saying you'll f-k up someone doesn't usually end well against teams that rely on motivation.

if Canada have learned to shoot since the first game, they've got a chance

Croatia have to turn up at some point but I've always thought they don't have a player who will put the chances away, could really do with a Suker or Mandzukic to finish chances off

Canada win it is then.

Martin Keown :D

"Could be a surprise package" today apparently, after they breezed through CONCACAF qualifying and then dominanted Belgium.

Come on though… it’s their first world cup goal :D. He kind of has a point.

Every World Cup team that isn't from western Europe, Argentina or Brazil is either a "surprise package" or should be "happy to be here".

This is the best side Canada have ever had, up against a Croatian group that are fading and looked totally ordinary last week.  It's only a "seismic shock" if you've taken the BBC's money to work as a pundit but then failed to do even the most basic research.

I know what you’re saying but even on paper, Croatia’s team is full of players playing in Europa/CL. Canada have quite a few nobodies. They do look like a really well coached side though.

Totally fading, but easily won a group against France and Denmark.

The issue of this team is Croatian Southgate playing some players who are past it and some others out of position. The man is probably the worst coach in the torunament, who had unbelievable luck in his career.

Still winning this, though.

Denmark were in Scotland's qualifying group. Were Croatia France and Denmark in the nation's League together?

He's taking about Nations League, which is an important competition now that Croatia topped their group

It's not an important comeptition, but look at the lineups that played and the effort shown. Best football and especially defense Croatia played in years, then he reverts to Lovern.

Anyhow, all I'm saying is that Rob is clueless.
Croatia is fading based on a bad performance against Morocco, but when England plays even worse against a way worse team, it's Sir Gareth's masterplan. Just ridiculous.

Canada's pressing is great and they have a ton of pace, but that defense and midfield looks so vunerable. First composed team dismantles them, easily. It's up to see if Croatia can get their sh*t together.
