  1. He is but not committed yet. Could see Madueke as a wildcard if he gets his move to Dortmund.
  2. Learned nothing from all the idiots arrested after implicating themselves storming the US capitol at the start of the year.
  3. That's our big problem, we're ending up with so much attacking depth that we're starting to lose a lot our dual nationals.
  4. Well let's think how wrong we were about this squad even last year. Could see a relative unknown spring up out of nowhere and get a call up.
  5. I'd send them all out on loan to clubs in Africa or the Caribbean, cultural exchange loans or something like that. Give them a chance to actually learn about other cultures and maybe teach them not to be racist scumbags.
  6. Fact he said they'd do it again in 2030 is reason enough for fifa to reject our bid outright.
  7. By the way Callum Hudson-Odoi has reportedly switched allegiance to Ghana. Can you blame him?
  8. There's an old episode of Mock the Week from 2014 on Dave, just after Germany won the World Cup and it had Hugh Dennis talking about our tournament: "If anyone's watching this in a few years time on Dave - we're still ****, aren't we?" I feel like Dave chose this episode on purpose.
  9. I say they go. And use the occasion to humiliate the government, challenge the government on their constant failures and do it all in front of the cameras.
  10. Get the feeling most of the squad will reject any invitation from No. 10 that comes their way.
  11. Definitely, but I'd give Southgate 2022. Squad is young enough that even if 2022 goes wrong we have plenty of time to rebuild, and one year isn't long enough for a new boss to stamp their style onto the team. If Potter can finally start seeing results with Brighton this season then he'll definitely be in the frame.
  12. We'll have to see what the next year provides for youngsters in midfield. Going to be a big season for Ollie Skipp and James Garner, for example. Both now out of their teens and need to start pushing for opportunities at the top level.
  13. Meanwhile the "comedian" Andrew Lawrence has been a racist knob on Twitter, leading to him deleting his account and every venue of his upcoming tour cancelling his shows. There are easier ways to retire from comedy than outing yourself as a scumbag.
  14. No but might not have even reached the final. I'm not going to make any guesses for who'll be in the 2022 squad because so much can change in 18 months and there are players we might not even know that could suddenly turn into world beaters. We should keep an eye on Dortmund's young English players and how Omar Richards does at Bayern, for example (because Bayern have clearly seen something in him that the rest of us haven't and it would be great if they can bring that out of him). I'm hoping Lille give Angel Gomes his chance to show what he can do after a decent season on loan in Portugal. This time next year we could move from Phillips and Rice to debating about how a midfield duo of Bellingham and Garner would work.
  15. Just remember that if this tournament were held in 2020 we probably would have had Eric Dier, Jesse Lingard and Callum Wilson in the squad instead of some of the names we had that only came good last season.
  16. One proposal I've seen is: League A: 12 automatic tournament qualifying spots (1st to 3rd each group) 4 playoff spots (4th place each group) League B: 8 automatic tournament qualifying spots (1st and 2nd each group) 6 playoff spots (3rd place each group and two best 4th place teams) League C: 4 automatic tournament qualifying spots (1st place each group) 4 playoff spots (2nd place each group) League D: 0 automatic tournament qualifying spots 2 playoff spots (1st place each group)
  17. The suggestion I would make is bringing in a coach who will get in Southgate's ear and challenge him to be braver with his decisions. He's got some great coaches on his team but none that will actually challenge his decisions and push him, filling in where Gareth is lacking. We've seen that he listens to his coaching staff but they all seem to have the same problem.
  18. What if Madueke comes good at Dortmund (if he gets the move there)? Set to be their Sancho replacement.
  19. My theory is that his knee injury was starting to play up once the adrenaline of runnign around had gone. Taking a pen in a cup final is bad enough without having to do it when your knee's gone.
  20. Yeah, even with the depth we have at our disposal now, we could yet have more names in the frame this season. If Skipp gets and takes his chance at Spurs he'll be in the frame. Greenwood has clearly been taking lessons from Cavani and has another few levels in him, could be frightening if things go right. Depending on what United do with de Gea, Henderson could get his chance at the top this season in goal. Hudson-Odoi is someone we know can do a job and maybe Tuchel can get the best out of him. Liverpool have a host of youngsters with bags of potential and Klopp isn't afraid to use them, e.g. Curtis Jones. Noni Madueke at PSV is also attracting a lot of attention, potentially being the next England talent to join the Dortmund machine.
  21. Think of it this way: Compare this squad with how it was this time last year. A lot of new faces, a few returning faces who were nowhere near the England squad last year but massively improved over the season. There's nothing to say we can't have even more bright young talents available next year. Some we may not know yet who are about to have their breakthrough seasons, some we do know who have still got bags of unrealised potential and another year of growing to do. Think how much better Foden, Bellingham and Sancho could be in 18 months' time. We can still have high hopes for a good run in 2022 and as long as Southgate also improves his flaws, there's cause for optimism.
  22. This is my issue as well. But as I've said, I'm just hoping he finally takes the hint that he needs to work on his in-game tactical changes, because playing for pens is suicide.
