What's that? A new Wishlist Thread? What you would like to see in future FM versions.

Direct free kicks need a revamp imho. Please let us know what makes a good direct FK taker in the game, because atm direct FK's feel absolutely random regardless of attributes (free kicks, technique, finishing, composure etc) and my top 'specialists' usually score 0 in 5 years (opponents never score as well).

More variety of free kick styles possibly depending on new specific PPM's for set piece specialists: 'dry leaf', 'three fingers', straight powerful shot, curve powerful shot, soft curve shots over the wall, low shots, the Juninho/Pirlo style... basically more diversity (via new PPM) and more effectiveness for the few bona fide set piece specialists.

Please, for the love of god, change the extended highlights so it shows how set pieces come about instead of cutting straight to the corner or whatever. It's driving me crazy.

I have chance after chance, nothing in the highlights from the opposition and then it'll suddenly just cut to a set piece and them scoring or coming close. I've got no problem with them getting chances from it, I just want to see how they got the set piece in the first place. If every highlight preceding it shows me dominating the game and the opposition not even making it into my half, it's so frustrating for them to seemingly out of nowhere have a corner. Just let me see how it unfolded.

Why not rewind to show the build up before the set-piece & then allow the game to catch up to the "as-live" moment you started at?

Yeah, that's what I end up doing. I'm sure earlier versions of FM didn't do this, and there's definitely instances in this version where the build up is shown too. It's just really irritating to have to rewind the action to find out what happened.

Highlights got changed 2/3? versions ago.

What used to be extended is now comprehensive.

So will this be in FM17?

"The format of the 2016-17 EFL Trophy, which will include 15 Premier League academy sides, has been confirmed.

Clubs from both League One and League Two will play alongside the Category One academies, with Championship side Newcastle's academy team also included."

No one's going to be confirming features when FM17 hasn't been announced yet.

For what its worth, if I'm remembering rightly, the official confirmation of FM16 wasn't until September 2015.

If SI still hold a Football League license for FM17 then expect the new format for the FL Trophy to be included.

Yeah fair point, guess it was more a hopeful plea than a question that needed answering - least I posted it in the right thread :)

I want to be able to see what countries I'm missing scouting knowledge in for a continent to be "complete". Scrolling through all the nations on your scouting knowledge list trying to figure out which one isn't on there is very frustrating.

I would love it if there were an option to change some simple cosmetic aspects of players. I would like to be able to edit a couple of things using the player editor.

1. I love like to change hairstyle option of players in the match engine. We can already change the color of players, but I would also like to edit whether they have a mohawk. I like mohawks on my flair players :D

2. Regen hair/faces. I hate when an absolutely amazing regen is ruined by looking terrifying. I would like the option to change the face (not even manually, just by re-randomizing it) and hair. This would also be awesome to have players change hairstyles over the course of their careers. Maybe a crazy haircut in their teens, and a nice politician haircut by the time they are 36.

3. I would love to be able to change birth places. I like when I have a couple of regens that look similar and share a surname to make them brothers or family. It would be awesome to make it so they have the same birth place :D

These are all ridiculously little things, but I like my regens to look good so that I find myself more invested in their careers.

The bigger idea I have is for faces to age a little bit, or at least for faces to change maybe twice per career to make them look a little older as they reach the peak of their careers!

Cheers.

I think player's face do grow older with age. But why not allow regen players to change their hairstyles from time to time, changing from between several hairstyles according to their race. Maybe this idea has already been brought up?

1. More sponsor offers and choosing which one will be on your shirts.

2. More pictures in the background. And they should be better.

3. Money donations. Why wouldn't I donate 2M€ to my affiliated club if I want to see them in the first division. Until now, I've always been buying their worst player and releasing him on free just to give them money. Or at least, choosing how big will be amount of money you give them every year.

4. It's a little bit stupid that fans are devastated after almost every loss.

5. Make transfers and loans easier! I know that player will be more easily sold if he is wanted, but if I offer him to the clubs for 0€, it's stupid that nobody wants him. Same thing with loans.

6. I think that there should be huge database. I usually turn on only one league, and than, database size can be small (around 6000), medium (9000), and large (12000). I want bigger database without having to turn on more leagues, because I want at least 20000 players and staff distributed properly by continents.

7. In smaller leagues, prize money for final positions always stay the same, which is not ok in my opinion. I think "league budget" and some sponsors of league should give more or less money, depending on increasing/decreasing reputation of the leagues.

Probably somebody already gave this ideas, i just registered here. :)

Following on from my question here (http://community.sigames.com/showthread.php/460861-A-question-on-play-with-first-team-tactics), I'd like to see the option to tell U21/U18 squads to "play with the first team's tactics" extended to include the three first-team tactics being trained rather then just the currently selected one. As I stated in my question, if I rotate between a 4-1-4-1, 4-4-1-1, and 4-4-2, I'd like the respective team manager to play one of those best suited to the players he has available, rather than shoehorning a midfielder in to a second striker slot if I happened to play 4-4-2 in my previous game. I'd also rather not turn the option off and leave it entirely to his choice, that usually ends up with them playing a 4-1-2-3.

Good day to all!

Completely agree with ghandour7! We are doing our dream jobs, earning money that most of us will never earn, so let us make something with it! First of all, give us the ability to buy our own club with our earnings. Then we can manage our team without the stupidity of the board.

Thanks

As I'm currently doing a scoring goalkeeper challenge, I have noticed that after a significant amount of time (I'm in 2023, Brazil and Argentina leagues loaded) virtually no keeper with high attributes for free kicks and penalties has been generated by the game (the exception was a good keeper with 14/11/10 attributes for free kicks/penalties/eccentricity created at my club, then again these attributes are just slightly above average and not elite).

Now I understand it's not the most common type of keeper, but south american countries (Brazil, Argentina, Colombia) tend to have a tradition of eccentric goal scoring keepers. Aside from past legends like Chilavert, Higuita and recently retired Rogerio Ceni, current goalkeepers who take penalties and free kicks for their clubs include Johnny Vegas (Peru), Marcio, Tiago Campagnaro (Brazil), Sebastian Saja, Cristian Lucchetti, Diego Rodriguez (Argentina), and I'm sure there might be a few less known others.

What I suggest is having south american countries like Brazil, Argentina, Colombia, Paraguay, Peru hard coded to produce the occasional goalkeeper with well above average attributes (around 15) for penalties, free kicks and eccentricity because atm it's just not happening.

Hello all!

So I just recieved an offer for a player whom I really like IRL, but dont use as much ingame due to better players for his position. Now, I know he is a spirited young fellow, and I'd like to keep him, but also keep him happy. At the same time, a move from the Danish League to Premier League may be too good to pass up for him. This got me thinking.

I'd absolutely love to have a conversation with this player. Something along the lines of "I'd like to keep you, but Everton has made an offer for you, how do you feel about this?" with some alternatives like "You have been sparking interest lately, most recently from Everton, would you be willing to stay on for a season to buy me time to find a suitable replacement?" etc. you know, the usual stuff. But with a twist.

The twist being I'd love to see info like current happiness, concerns, future dreams etc. listed on the page, so I can make an educated decission instead of just blinding saying no to this deal, risking an unhappy player.

First I would like to say that you have done some amazing work, especially with the ME that can no longer be gamed easily like in previous iterations. The animations could do with a little work though, the players frequently look like they are icescating and oftentimes perform impossible actions like diving headers where they manage to steer the ball at 90 degree angles away from the ball and players trajectory. Another issue that bothers me in the games is when the closest player to the ball chooses to leave it and run in the opposite direction.

I feel that the "easiest" place to really improve (make it more difficult) the experience is in the squadbuilding and management abilities of the AI. Currently the AI still makes baffling decisions with regards to its players and staff. Starting players with 50% condition, hiring coaches with terrible stats, buying players with unsuitable abilities for the style of football they play and so on...

Strengthening these areas will make longer saves harder and more rewarding.

One change I'd like to see is more realistic contract extension negotiations. Obviously the money you earn is ultimately irrelevant, but it detracts from the realism of the game when I take a team through multiple promotions and win the league/champions league, but the board still refuse to pay me much than they did when I first took over, especially when other clubs want to hire me and are offering a lot of money.

I think interactions with players could be improved. For instance, a few times I've had players come to me in the midst of a bad run and ask for a new contract and a big pay rise - it would be nice to be able to criticise the timing of the demand.

Players also don't seem to have much of a relationship with each other. In real life players often don't really get on and this can affect the team's chemistry, but in-game players only seem able to like/dislike you, not each other.

Also, when it comes to games spanning many years, I often wish the game was rather more detailed in terms of the stats it collects across your career. A breakdown of your record across different competitions, against different managers, against different clubs (currently you can see a club's record against another club, but not your own record against them) etc.

Finally, unless I'm missing something, you can only see a club's past meetings against another club when you have an upcoming fixture against them - I'd like to be able to access this whenever.

I'd love to see improved tactics for standards.

- More Playerpositions

- More Player instructions

And a fix for following problem:

You are placing Positions on the tactic board, but chosing single players for standards.

Example:

Having my Player on MCL as taker and my ACM as "Offer short Option" and then Instructet to "Play Short".

Now I need to substitute my ACM and move my MCL on his spot. Bringing a new MCL from bench.

No one will be close anymore... :(

Improved betting odds for the pre-season predictions.

It's been the same for as long as I can remember but the odds just don't make sense.

In my current season, there are four clear frontrunners for the EPL title: Arsenal, Chelsea, Man City and Man Utd.

Their odds to win the EPL are given as 5/4, 6/4, 7/4 & 7/4 respectively which is ridiculous.

As the media/bookies can't really separate them, then their odds should probably be something like 5/2, 11/4, 3/1, 3/1, if not slightly better, which is very different to what is given.

The individual match odds for any competitive match during the season, supposedly supplied by Sky Bet, are pretty good, giving a consistent overround of 113% (simply put, a 13% profit margin for the bookies) so why can't the same formula be used for the pre-season predictions?

The perentages for just those four pre-season team predictions add up to 157.2% and when you add in all the others, which range from 16/1 to 2000/1, you get more than 175%.

More accurate odds would be appreciated.

after, once again, conceding a goal and having to check the replay too see how the player got the ball in the first place, better animations, as the player who scored got the ball from a slide tackle that went in some random direction from the bottom of his foot despite sliding in and getting it side on on the animation.

and more, another slide tackle from my player goes 30 yards as a perfect pass..

its fairly frequent this, especially when you get patches of play, where players just run into each other and lose the ball, mass head tennis, or players who beat the opponant to the ball, yet the opponent ends up with the ball.

When starting an "unemployed game" and going on holiday - the option to wait until a particular job becomes available rather than the scattergun approach used now of top division, higher reputation etc. That way if I wanted to become the successor to ... Claudio Ranieri at Leicester for example I can just do it with a simple click than have to wait through all the clubs in the division - and even worse if it's a lower division team I want to manage.

I forgot to add in my previous post.

The crowd noices are long overdue for an overhaul. They are very monotomous.

Also a crowd of 500 sounds exactly the same as a crowd of 60000. If you have ever watched any serious amount of football, you will know that not just the volume, but also the overall sound is completely different with small and big crowds.

More customisation as manager. It feels as if we (the player) have very limited customisation when it comes to being a manager, I know we can choose favourite clubs when we start but that isn't enough. For example, on my current save I have managed at least 10+ teams over 30 years with varying levels of success, at the moment I am managing Stranraer and am really enjoying it. I would love to be able to add/remove favourite teams I have managed in game and likewise for players/staff. If I have a falling out with someone I should be able to add them to a disliked tab or if I sign a player who becomes a favourite of mine I should be able to add them to my favourite list. I feel this small point would add a lot of enjoyment and add another layer of emersion which I feel has been sorely missed from all previous FM's.

SI Games, your 3D engine is worst for 2016 year. Stop copy game again and again, take pause and refactor your code for flexible changes. Stop devide game on small packs on Android, etc. It looks like agony.

I think, minimum 3D picture for 2016 must be:

[video=youtube;dQcrQQksy2E]

If you can't do this, create project on Kickstarter or publish code on Github and we try to make it!

(I understand how idiotic heard my words from a business perspective)

Thank you!

You are not understanding what it takes to create a real time dynamic 3d engine frankly, like many before you...

The video you posted or example... is not a 3d engine in the same sense as fm... it is not a game.. it is not playable.. it merely plays out highlights in front of you based upon very few inputs, and the plays are all the same. It's a betting websites engine created to allow people to bet on passages of play.

FM is steadily improving and there is no-one anywhere near fm's frankly...

It could certainly be better and SI agree, and will improve as much as they can.

At least research the things you are posting before you do so.

The FM conundrum is going to be very different as well, that's a video clip for all intents and purposes - your PC has no real investment in rendering any of those graphics its essentially the same as watching a video on youtube. One of the biggest limitations is always going to be the match engine is rather processor intensive, if you bolt on a more demanding graphics engine which has to be generating graphical changes in real time, the odds are FM is going to go from a game which is very low-budget computer friendly title to a hardware intensive, expensive build job.

I actually think that is more likely to be a bigger block than the cost of hiring additional staff and just banging it in place one year which is do-able. I would likely say the majority of FM's userbase doesn't have the CPU and GPU capable. I have an i7 @ 3.8ghz and an AMD R9 390 and I still wouldn't be sure if it could definitely take a high level graphics engine and simultaneously do the complex math needed with the match engine. It would effectively be the same as playing 2 games at the same time in terms of the resources needed to do it.

Welshace, I understand what i say. I'am developer and question is only in time of this improvements. Stop select 2-core CPU as minimum. If it not possible to make it in current FM engine - it's not mean that is not possible.

I not work in Sigames, but opinion, based on my experience - if game came again and again with 10 small improvements with 300-500 bugs - it looks like old bugged code without Unit tests (Does unit-tests use in FM ?) which developed with cheapest junior developers. I think, Sigames need 2-3 years for refactoring this **** with backend command.

I know, how difficult to develop games like FM, but if Sigames will stay on same place and become large and unwieldy, and it beats by faster rival comppanies which it does not see now.

Maybe try to use GPU for calculating ?

Ubisoft always complaining on small power of PC and always testifies to the opposite.

I want to praise FM UI designers (not 3-d engine). They are best!

I am quite happy with the current 3D engine. My request would be for more animations and a manual camera function to better capture replays and highlights.

I sometimes want to take videos of penalties or free kicks from certain angles or move the camera during the phase of a goal to angles or positions that are not available with the presets. A rotating and\or zooming function on a free roam camera would be good (if possible?).

Perhaps even the ability to hold a button to slow the speed down during a replay (i.e. recording a goal at regular speed via a replay, holding a button such as shift, or a mouse click, as the player shoots and releasing for regular speed to return during the celebration to increase the effect of the shot and goal)

Probably already said but here goes.

How about having an option to save settings when creating a new game and talking to the owners when welcomed. I don't like the fact i always have to go through the chit chat of talking to owners and assistants at the start of the season for a new game. I wish i could use a template of pre recorded chit chat settings selected from another save that i can use asap in new career games and not having to go through all the owner/assistant/coach chats.

I'd like to see more tactical information/options on the squad screen. An example would be changing a left back ahead of the next game due to injury. It would be great if a pop up/option appeared to say how you would like this player to play without having to go into tactics screen etc.

So you'd start a game and load/set up your range of tactics then the system would recognise what tactic you're using so any changes in starting XI on the squad screen would immediately give you the option to change how the new player plays the position compared to the normal incumbent.

Also, I'd like to have the ability to pre-set certain players with roles based on their on field position and specific abilities i.e. if I have to move a player from the left to the right mid-game or before a game then the system would recall how I want him to play in a given position and make the changes for me accordingly. (good example would be wide attacking players switching from the left to the right I'd prefer a right footer to play more as a winger on the right and inside forward on the left).

This isn't about letting the system have more control it's about making the system automatically make the changes you want quickly and with the minimum of moving between screens/mouse clicks etc.

With the amount of saves I start, I completely agree with this sentiment... However, I would rather SI just improved this area and there was more variety..

As I'll be honest, I click through it without reading these days..

haven't yet had time to go through each page, so forgive me if these have already been mentioned, but these are just a handful of features that I'd love to see implemented into FM17 and beyond.

- Actual match day squads. At the moment, we can choose any player from any squad on match day (unless they've played for their squad that day). I'd love to have to select a match day squad every week. The same goes for pre-season tour squads. I could play be playing in China or South Korea, and still be able to select ANY player from any of the three squads my club has. For me, that isn't very realistic as the whole first team, Under 21's and Under 18's squads don't go on pre-season tours.

- Make arranging pre-season friendlies against other clubs in different nations easier. I want to be able to approach a club and offer to play them in the US in the summer much easier.

There are loads more features I'd like to see, but don't want to drag this post on and on.

1. Add Italian Serie D & German Regionalliga

Without a doubt this reflects my own managing preferences, but I think it would be great if the Italian Serie D and the German Regionalliga were added to the game as playable leagues (I know that there are good fan-made league extentions).

Insufficient research has been mentioned as one reason for not adding lower levels to the game, but to me it seems that the mentioned leagues have been reasonably well scouted, though the levels below them are more sporadic. The thing is though, that there are only so many teams that get promoted from those levels each year. This means that the main effect of the supposedly lacking research would be in the future, but the future is characterized by change – players come and go and the importance of accurate squad information becomes less and less valuable as the game goes on.

2. Promotion from non-active feeder leagues

As far as I have noticed, promotion of clubs from non-manageable feeder leagues is based on team reputation with teams with higher reputation having greater chance of being promoted. The real life promotion of clubs is not based on reputation however, and this leads to the game not replicating real life scenarios.

As an example, the following clubs are among the teams that were promoted from the Spanish Tercera at the end of the real life 15/16 season:

  • At. Mancha Real
  • Boiro
  • El Ejido
  • Palencia
  • Saguntino
  • Zamudio

Even with no B team promotions in the game in Spain, there is little to no chance the above clubs would be promoted since they have very low reputations. I think this is unfortunate, and should be amended. As long as promotion continues to be based on reputation, the following changes could be made to make it more likely for clubs like the ones listed to find their ways to manageable leagues:

  • Adjust feeder league clubs' reputations closer to each other.
  • Make promotion more random.
  • Retain the current general level of weighted randomnes, but include frequent completely random ”wild card” promotions where reputation does not matter.

3. Extended ability to choose a team

The improvements to promotion that were suggested above lead to increased plurality of clubs available for management, which I think is good in itself. If the question is focused only on how to make more clubs available for management, then maybe the game could be made to function as follows:

  • Add a manager and choose a team from a non-manageable feeder league. The next time seasons update the chosen club will be promoted with the added manager (you) at its helm.

4. Stadiums

  • Localize names for stadiums that are built in-game. Less or no words like ”Stadium” or ”Park” in stadium names in countries where English is not the native tongue.
  • Many clubs even at lower levels do not actually train at their main stadiums. This isn't always expressed in the game data, so the ability to build a smaller stadium or rent/buy a near-by small ground for team training would be great.
  • Build/rent/buy stadium also for reserve/youth team matches/training
  • Introduce stadium categories similar to the UEFA stadium categories. An ambitious club board could initiate stadium renovations to up the club's stadium category and prestige/reputation. This would probably necessitate the possibility to improve different stadium criteria (look at the link) separately.

5. Generated person pictures & shirts

Currently generated persons' pictures are rather abruptly cut from their necks down with chins sometimes outside of the image. It doesn't look very good. Since the FaceGen faces are rather uniform in their dimensions, its probably possible to:

  • Add persons' shoulders and part of chest into the picture. It would be great if the image was large enough for the team logo on the shirt to be visible. Players would move from team to team and always wear the correct jersey (neutral apparel for unattached players).
  • Non-player persons could wear for example tracksuits or suits depending on their role (and personality?).

6. Increased use of logopacks

When the first screenshots of FM16 were released, one change I noticed was the generic club logos on the generic team shirts (club profile screen). I hoped this to be an indication that the game loads logos from logopacks and places them onto the shirts. Obviously FM16 does not do this, but maybe a future version could.

  • Load logos from logopacks and place them on shirts.

7. Sharing manager profiles (likeness)

Could it be made possible to export and save manager likeness?

  • I bet some people like to play with the manager editor - faces that look like real managers, celebrities or just otherwise striking. If it was possible to export the profiles (or just the likeness), they could be shared online.

8. Increase the size of some of the graphics

Some images within the game have to be stretched beyond their actual size on high resolution monitors. It makes them look fuzzy.

1. A tutorial for the outside of game advanced editor. It took me weeks to figure it out to the point I didn't bug everything to the point of no return.

2. German Regionalliga. They're well known and well scouted.

3. Owner mode.
