  1. More dynamic interactions with agents and generally a more prominent role in the game for them would be a key addition. As much as we dislike agents they're a big part of football IRL so the game should reflect that in some way. Hopefully agents will be able to help (or not, depending on relationships with manager) both buying and selling players - maybe help offloading some deadwood on deadline day thanks to their connections with specific teams. Btw I've been forcing my players to fire their agents for the past 10 editions of the game, I don't think this should be happening so easily. Also the option of hiring an agent for a manager should be considered as this is often the case IRL and has a huge impact on transfers. Staff meetings look like the kind of feature that I'd set on 'never' very quickly, which is actually an upgrade from 'every 6 months' which I think was the minimum for backroom advice of past editions. Let's just say I'm not a fan. Anyway the real highlight of this blog are obviously new regen faces and hairstyles. The dreadlocks/Predator hairstyle has the potential to become a real FM icon.
  2. This thread has been amazing for YEARS now, thank you! The high-intensity 3-4-3 and 4-2-4 are still my main source of inspirarion! Honestly the best part of the new Wide Centre-Back role for FM22 is a potential new thread of yours of the 3-4-3 diamond
  3. I'm very confused because from shirt colour and numbers ( midfielders 78 Pulgar 34 Amrabat 10 Castrovilli; wingbacks 3 Biraghi 21 Lirola; defenders 4 Milenkovic 20 Pezzella) the team used to show new roles and tactics seems to be Fiorentina 2020/21 but I have no idea about defender with No.16. Also Milenkovic as a Wide Centre-Back (Attack) is a terrible idea especially on the left. Disappointing. (Joking aside the WCB is a very welcome addition but seriously who is No.16? )
  4. I'd be very interested in a MLS save if the new announced developmental leagues (MLS Next for academies and the new minor league controlled by MLS) are added in FM 22, hopefully with new CONCACAF Champions League format as well. New Zealand also looks fun to play with new league structure (regional leagues as qualifiers for national league), would be great if SI could add NZ as an official league.
  5. Seems that this new league will be mostly made of MLS B teams currently playing in USL. Let's wait and see what happens with FM 22! Hopefully this new league and MLS Next (another new youth competition for academies) will be in FM 22 as they're both controlled by MLS and might be included under MLS license.
  6. This should be interesting to add for FM 22 https://www.espn.com/soccer/major-league-soccer/story/4415507/major-league-soccer-to-launch-development-league-in-2022
  7. I think it's an excellent (almost inevitable) decision for the game and the company, and I'd suggest the same if I was a decision maker at SI. Personally as a FM player I don't have much interest in this addition though others certainly will. I don't think it will change much for the development of the series (match engine, graphics, new features etc), honestly I see this mostly as a PR move - a very good one.
  8. 32 better than 24 as long as they remove qualifiers (just a play-in tournament for lower ranked teams). Nations league also need to go away (schedule for World Cup qualifiers would then be much lighter). I liked Confederations Cup though.
  9. Yeah I do this all the time for multiple players/positions. The problem is those players will be selected and play every single match (even when recovering from injury if available) which is not ideal for managing fitness, fatigue and injuries. OP makes a very good suggestion imo.
  10. Thanks! The only issue with Wellington Phoenix Reserves I've noticed is that all their players are listed as 'foreigners' (even if they have in fact New Zealand nationality) in NZ league, which is weird because they're not considered foreigners in A-League... I guess Oceania is pretty hard to edit probably due to SI Great to know that you'll be back for FM22!
  11. Thanks for the continued efforts, this pack is absolutely amazing! One country that has completely re-structured its system for 2021 is New Zealand with their new National League (including Regional Leagues as qualifying tournaments). You can take a look here maybe https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2021_New_Zealand_National_League Also OFC Champions League in FM traditionally has issues (wrong teams qualifying) so ideally it should be re-built from scratch (I think another creator on this forum had done this for previous updates but not for 21.4) Thanks for all the hard work!
  12. Wow that's amazing! Do you think this file will work with edited leagues of USA and Canada from other creators?
  13. New Zealand is looking even more interesting after recent league restructuring, with Regional leagues as qualifiers for the new National League. We need NZ now more than ever
  14. Also, you should try to get some reputable senior affiliate clubs and (when you have the option after a few weeks) 'negotiate existing affiliation' to send young players to train at those clubs so they can maybe produce a Liechtensteiner newgen in the future (make sure to make those clubs' leagues playable to maximize chances). Old SM tricks .
  15. If I remember correctly from past saves, Vaduz youth intake has mostly 100% Liechtenstein players anyway so I'd suggest upgrading recruitment as much as possible to improve quality of players. To maximize your chances of getting good regens outside of your club I'd suggest to load USA league (especially a DB with lower/youth leagues) as for some reason those clubs/academies are able to produce the occasional Liechtensteiner newgen now and then!
  16. Yeah your time at AC Oulu (and the quality of players produced in the country) also inspired me to choose Finland for my save. I considered Norway (Fredrikstad FK in third division looked very interesting) but the fact that B teams cannot go higher than third division made me choose Finland (I also like that it's a relatively weak national team compared to fellow Scandinavia teams Sweden, Denmark and Norway). Finland Cup starting in January also makes the winter break less painful, I imagine Royal League and european competitions will really fill that schedule in the future! SJK are pretty cool because they have their Akatemia/B team in second division, and even have an affiliated third team in lower leagues (a Finland file down to 5th level would have been great but like you I prefer not to use edited DB if possible )
  17. Fantastic career and a great idea for a save! I also enjoy managing in nordic leagues, though I'm usually a bit discouraged by the long winter break at the end of the season. The revived Royal League does help a lot with this - at least the one made by Zangelmi which runs from November through April (like the original RL a few years ago). Your thread and experience with this competition actually helped me to choose this particular file . I started a save in Finland with SJK (mainly because they're the only club having their B team in a playable division), hopefully I can turn them into the most powerful club in the North!
  18. Love these tournaments, great work! New Zealand super cup 21.4 link doesn't seem to work could you please re-upload it? Thanks!
  19. Thanks @Luke Hume. The MLS academies are actually producing newgens (though in relatively small number until they release current academy players after they turn 18), though I'm not seeing american clubs/academies outside MLS producing any newgens as of january 2024 (while these clubs/academies already have lots of newgens right at the start of the game). They used to be produced every year in previous editions of the game (and I signed lot of them for in my CPL saves), but this doesn't seem to happen in FM21. Is this supposed to happen? Thanks.
  20. Not sure I understand the decision to keep Jiangsu in the game even after latest update 21.4. The team has ceased operations at the end of february and is no longer part of CSL (or any other competition). In 21.4 they're still in CSL ready to start 2021 season, and retain all their players while they've actually been released (the likes of Miranda and Eder have both signed with Sao Paulo). Any plan to update their status?
  21. Anybody knows if new format of Concacaf Champions League (from 2023) is now in the game? https://www.si.com/soccer/2021/02/04/ccl-concacaf-champions-league-format-expansion-details-2023
  22. @Sebastian Szlenkier sorry I don't have a save before that trade. Btw I don't think the trade per se was an issue as Bono was valued around $4M and was MLS GK of the year as well as the starting keeper of a team that won MLS and CL (there were a few teams interested so I offered the player for his value and accepted the best offer I received). The issue is his new team (I believe it's NYRB) waiving him at march after investing such assets in a trade just a couple of months earlier.
  23. I'm still experiencing many issues especially with AI trade logic and squad building. AI seems to only be interested in trading for players during a brief window at the end of the season (around mid-december), I usually take advantage of that and amass valuable assets like GAM and picks which I can use for buying down salary impact or make key trades. After that period AI is uninterested in trading for players until next december, though they often try to trade for International Slots. Apart from that same old issues persist, with AI for example trading $1M GAM plus two first round picks for my (decent) goalkeeper Alex Bono in december just to waive him the following march (of course I can easily sign him for free after he clears waivers). GK's in particular are often object of weird transfer activity, such as being signed and immediately released by teams multiple times in the same season. Also, still not sure if youth intakes are working properly in USA (very few players have been created in the MLS academies, and even fewer in non-MLS youth clubs, is that supposed to happen?)
