Going by the sidebar seems you are going for a light skin, to me it seems that the background is a kinda cluttered would benefit in clarity if you would go for a more plain background, maybe some simpler patterns and not so much color saturation because it can distract from the text information on top. (regulated by the text.fontxml file, I think). my vision is not what it used to be, but beside that, I personally find the default one too narrow and a bit blurry (yeah, better at 125% at 1920x1080, but still too narrow and not so easy on the eyes, IMO).
