Ohanzee
Benitez with his breathtakingly exciting style of play and amazingly inspiring personality would surely never get sacked from Real Madrid
Klimowicz
I just found out about Crplz news. That's shocking, a disaster. Not much point watching Barcelona from now until everything's back to normal, it'll look so wrong. Why, Neymar, what are you doing

Brazil shouldn't call him up until he lets it grow back.
Marc Albrighton
I am sure the Madrid fans were delighted to dominate the game and take home a point. A player of his class really needs to be taking one of those 14 chances in a game. I'm sure they are happy with scoring 6 and 5 in consecutive games with Ronaldo top scorer and top of the league, yea.
Vynal Seven
2nd in the league.
Marc Albrighton
They went top when they went on that run though, that's what I meant. As if they all are suddenly in revolt because they didn't score another 5. Ridiculous discussion.
jep
I'm sure they are happy with scoring 6 and 5 in consecutive games with Ronaldo top scorer and top of the league, yea. I was talking about yesterday's game, not the ones before. In that particular game, Ronaldo was poor.
RubenJ
6 in 5 consecutive games is a weird way to put it, 5 of those were in one match? His goalscoring is normally more consistent and therefore more important for the team. So despite the stats you can't really say he hasn't had better starts to the season?
EnterUsernameHere
It's his worst start to a season in ages, no worse one at Real Madrid anyway. He's been really sluggish bar 2 games. The consecutive games comment from Marc is about Real Madrid though, not Cristiano.
RubenJ
oh right.
Emersonlfc
Someone showed me a stat that showed the differences between Raul's goals and Ronaldos. Real would have had 6 ( I think) less titles without Raul's but only 1 less without Ronaldos.
RubenJ
huh? does that even make sense as a stat considering Ronaldo only has 1 title with Real Madrid?
Marc Albrighton
So you're basically saying Real would have 1 less title without Ronaldo? Well that's good because they've only won one since he arrived
Emersonlfc
isnt that the point though? Even with all his goals its only brought them one title?
Vynal Seven
Without Shearer's goals Newcastle wouldn't lose any of their titles.

EnterUsernameHere
Not really. Won't really matter to them. It happens all the time in Spain, just publicised more when it's a Barça player for some reason. Nothing said when Casillas or Xabi Alonso were fighting with the tax man...
HOORAY HENRIK
Plenty said about Xabi Alonso. Twice its been reported and twice he's denied it in 12 months.
Marc Albrighton
isnt that the point though? Even with all his goals its only brought them one title? Not really with the way its worded in the original post, seems weird to me. Real don't win many titles anyway even when they had Beckham, Figo, Zidane, Raul and Ronaldo in one team so its not something that you can really use against him. He's hardly going to go "oh well we wont win the title this year so I may as well not bother scoring".

Emersonlfc
Not really surprised with the state of Barcelona tbh. Luis Enrique isn't the man for the job.
Crplz
Strange how he won the league and UCL last year.
RubenJ
Weird opinions tbh after this match. Yeah the difference without Messi is huge, but today they really should have won. Massive amount of chances, could easily have been 2-4 or something.
Noob21
Not really surprised with the state of Barcelona tbh.Luis Enrique isn't the man for the job. It's more like bad business during the windows before the ban caught up to them, and add to that natural complacency
Emersonlfc
Strange how he won the league and UCL last year. Personally wouldn't credit Luis for that tbh.
Emersonlfc
Weird opinions tbh after this match. Yeah the difference without Messi is huge, but today they really should have won. Massive amount of chances, could easily have been 2-4 or something. Would love to know how Pique wasn't able to get the rebound from Neymars free kick over the line tbh. All he had to do was slide and block the clearance.
RubenJ
Yeah he hesitated, should have just slid and it would have gone in one way or the other.
Marc Albrighton
Personally wouldn't credit Luis for that tbh. So he gets no credit for all the trophys won but takes all the flak when they play ****, is that what you're saying?
Vynal Seven
Yeah I don't see how you can't give Enrique credit for last seasons results. Granted they had an absolutely ridiculous front line but he had to get it to work. Suarez started the season suspended, Neymar started it injured & when they were all back he successfully shifted Messi from the centre to fit them all in. At the start of the season Barca certainly never expected a treble but the team got stronger & stronger as the season progressed, if the manager doesn't get credit for that then I don't know who does. It certainly wasn't luck either when you consider their CL opponents at each stage.
Emersonlfc
If you look back through last seasons thread you'll see my view on LE throughout the year. Up until the new year some of his decision making was shocking. He started to get things right around then but I still don't think he's the man for the job. It's harsh to not give him any credit and I should take that back.
RubenJ
Enrique definitely deserves credit. But a manager is only so important at Barcelona when you have Messi in your team. It's no coincidence their succes and failure ALWAYS coincides with Messi playing well or not/being out. I think Enrique deserves most credit for fitting in Suarez, who was looking like a terrible fit in his first two months.
Emersonlfc
You not think Suarez being pretty poor was more down to the time he was out and just needed time to get up to match fitness?

ReggaeBwoy
Ronaldo once again **** poor. But he probably will still score But really despite his goals, he don't do much. Has not helped his defence at all tonight.

Marc Albrighton
Benitez will never not be a negative boring manager will he? Going 4-5-1 with Benzema going off even though Atletico were offering nothing since the departure of Correa.
aggressive minor
Ronaldo has definitely regressed, nothing like he was a couple of years ago. Needs to suck up the ego and adapt his game- still could be amazing of course.
Noob21
It seems like Atleti has gone from countering against Real to dominating at times Last season Real nearly dominated all of their matches (possession and shots) except for the 4-0 demolition
Pangaea
Real have a much worse manager now though, which is bound to play a role.
G-Man11
Rafa is just a negative bore plus Atletico also play a more posession based style this season and less direct counter attacking. Really not liking Griezmann back on the wing, he's doing an alright job there in the last few games but moving him up front last year turned him into something else and taking him away from goal makes him less of a threat. PMLF
Neymar scored 4 goals already vs Rayo Vallecano. He also became the league topscorer.
Ohanzee
This Barcelona game is crazy. Just full out attack and terrible defending from both sides. Could easily have been 6-7 goals at both ends.
