Lucky boy I say, should have been at least 6 months. Suppose 4 will do, as he will most likely recommit, so will be interesting to see if Liverpool now cash in on him this summer before he does do it again, as there won't be no way back after that.

Suppose banned from all football activity means he'll have to train on his own either in Liverpool or back in Uruguay. Not really ideal for Liverpool. Two seasons in a row where his missing a chunk at the start due to his behaviour.

The thing I hate the most is that Liverpool fans will actually use this as an excuse when they don't make the top 4 next season. The thing is, they wouldn't make it irregardless.

Wouldn't people have said that this time last year?

This!

Say what you want about some of their fans, that club is resilient as hell and setbacks like this just strengthen their siege mentality. They will get top 4 next season, the thing at risk was a stronger tilt at the title.

The player Luis Suárez is banned from taking part in any kind of football-related activity (administrative, sports or any other) for a period of four (4) months in accordance with art. 22 of the FDC.

So surely that means he can't sign any new contracts

This season they have european competition to worry about, last season they didn't. Last season, United had crap coach and european comp, this season they have world class manager and no european competition. It's pretty straightforward.

Damm when you put it like that, the rest of the premiership may as well not bother showing up this season. It's blatantly obvious Man U have it in the bag lol

Not really, they had the power to ban him from all football for 2 years, I don't think you can claim fair trading laws when the outcome could have been much worse

He will still be banned from football but the ownership of his registration should be tradeable as it is an asset to the business entity behind Liverpool. They can't use him under the ban but they can sell him on.

When Cantona was banned by the FA for 9 months, Fifa got involved and made the ban worldwide, just so Utd couldn't sell him on
