How do you know the ref gave it and not the assistant? The assistant behind the goal doesn't have a flag or a whistle and he doesn't do cartwheels every time he wants the refs attention.

What if England broke from that move (they did actually) and scored? Do you chalk it off?

You call England back before they score but they were 3 against 1, then it turned out the ball did not cross the line, would that be fair?

You need an instant decision, where if the ref does not get the buzz the game carries on. If the referee gets the buzz he blows for a goal.

No faffing about with cameras, angles and review screens. Once the chip in the ball or hawkeye is perfect then lets use it, till then we can carry on as we have for over 100 years.
