They're not a charity. If they are going to do it, as soon as they've decided to do it, you'll know about it loud and clear through their marketing. If there's no announcement, assume they won't.

I think last year there was a 10% discount on Steam if you preordered FM11 but I don't see it for FM12...

(although I could be wrong and thinking about another game on Steam I got)

Two weeks after this game is launched millions more will be spending £40+ for the latest COD, as scott said for the amount of hours that I get out of FM the £25 is money well spent, just a shame it has costs me thousands in PC upgrades.

Steam already has it reduced, albeit from £39.99 which it never actually sells at.

This. I always buy my next PC to be future-FM-proof or for at least 3 or 4 versions... I'm hoping last year's new one will last a long while :crosses fingers: (although the hard-drive is already kaput and I can't afford a replacement to copy everything onto and invoke the guarantee )

I'm happy to pay full whack each year. The amount of playing time I get out of 30 quid, damn, I'd probably pay twice that, to be honest. (Don't tell SI that though!)

My kids buy me the game every xmas so they can get it at a much lower price on e-bay (new and unused). As the guys say above, this game is better value than any other game out there and is well worth the money.

It's more likely to be a discount for new customers, since we are already hooked and they know we will buy the next game anyway. Loyalty is bad in the commercial world.

As far as I remember Steam applies super charges to non UK customers, something like 30-50% more.

its £30 and people still want a discount. on fm10 i had over 52 days gaming time, which works out my cost at just over a penny an hour!

The average yearly earnings for someone is about £16k iirc. It was a few years back. It may have even gone down now with the amount of people unemployed annd people earning less, maybe.

Nope, alot of bank employees earn about £7.50 an hour ish. The banks can't afford big wages really.

10k are roughly 13-14k euros.

That's impossible, my UK collegues ( IT fields ) in the same company I work for, earn 3 times my salary...... same speech for secretaries, consultants, washing men etc...

Anyway a man who manually washes dishes in UK earns 3 times the salary of a man washing dishes in my country ( one of the worst in the europe cause mafia etc... )

Within IT field my Norvegian, UK and German collegues earn around 120k per year, roughly 3-4 times my salary. ..and I have been working since 15 years in the IT fields...

As Ackter said, the IT field is good if you can get somewhere. I think companies now though are starting to lower wages due to the economic climate. So I think things may change, possibly.

Very few companies pay good money for testers. Even the best places rarely go over £20k.

See I'd never trust averages simply because the guys at the top get paid loads, while the people at the bottom get paid very little.

It would take a hell of a lot of little paid people to scale the average down enough to be truly representative.

Yes but each graph on that site also includes the number of people from whom the average is calculated, it's probably fairly accurate tbf.

When comparing wages you need to look at the median and upper/lower percentiles as well. Because, as you say, there is a huge difference in salaries so just looking at the average pay tells you very little.

To use another example from a previous job - the guy at the top was on over £100k, whereas the 200 people at the bottom were on barely over £10k
