Reminder's still not fixed after being buggered in the 12.1.1 patch, even after SI saying they were "aware of the the problem and are looking into it for this patch." Guess messing about with things that were still working (team talks) are more important than fixing the things they broke in the previous patch..

While im on the topic of team talks did it not occur to SI to change the level of motivation by the players from the manager reputation we select on the add manager screen, instead of just till you win something??? Guess the manager reputation selection can join the Reminder's on the growing useless feature's list..

Has anybody noticed that your team's familiarity levels of a tactic are now not what the game tells you they were, after using that tactic for a match?

I have just selected a backup tactic that I had not changed since the start of the season (in December now), the blue bar is almost full, after the match I notice that 'competency' levels are well down, as well as other areas of the tactic. :confused:

From reading the thread, it looks like it's a disaster but not sure if that's really the case..

I think it depends on what kind of save you do and which country you use. For me personally the patch seems to be a complete waste of time because it fixes/improves nothing that I've seen of yet. The only thing it does seem to have done is put up my scouting costs X4 and I can no longer, realistically, afford a scout.

The "gunk" looks like XML. It is used in a lot of programming to store small data structures. I am guessing there is an extra symbol (like a quote or >) in there somewhere throwing off the parsing mechanism. Sorry, but no ideas about the rest.

I'm guessing because it's code to do with the game that there has to be some kind of hot fix needs to be released to fix this. I kinda hope so because even if I could go in and change it I wouldn't even know where to begin looking.

Seems that the patch is affecting more types of save games/countries more than others to be honest. I'm only having a couple of small issues (listed above) but I have only just started the game really. Also seems that the patch is affecting save games people have got going like I say whereas I bought the game AFTER the patch was released so I was starting a fresh game with the patch already included.

Apart from the two minor things I've listed it's so far so good for me.

That would have been a good idea mate because then, those of us who don't give a hoot about the latest real life data needn't have bothered with any of it and I would still be able to pay for scouting.....lol

Hi Guys,
Is there any potential fix for this issue?

It seems like the grey bar that displays a player's role is narrower for players in the AM and ST lines than the other players. I have tried clearing my cache but that did not fix it.

I ´ve started a new save with malaga with the new patch and i don´t have any press conferences, only the first one(introduction one). I play on pc and i play the game "plain" , no editor , no skins , no graphics. Anyone can help ? thanks in advance !

Edit: they magically appeared today after 6 months in game !

Does anyone know why when I offer a coach a job it says "staff numbers allowed 17, current staff numbers 8", when the coach accepts the offer the board cancells the deal because they "don't think I need another coach"? What is the point of the "staff numbers permitted" number if the board makes up its own figure for a laugh?

And why does the in-match injury drop-down give the option of "keep on" when every time you click "keep on" it bumps you straight to the tactics screen because the player concerned HAS to come off?

You probably have free slots for "1st Team Coach"/"Youth Coach"/"Fitness Coach"/"GK Coach". Leaving these unused doesn't allow you more general "Coach" slots (anymore, since a few versions back). Check the bottom left on the board overview screen - it should show the limits in detail.

I've updated my Directx but am still getting the following error box when I try and load up my game:

On closing the box it tells me that Steam is trying to complete FM12 installation, it gets to 1% then tells me the surver is to busy (Error code 41).

This cropped up at the end of my first season on FM12. The game began to run very slowly and was unresponsive after clicking "continue", so I restarted FM but then got the error message come up when trying to load the game.

Had the same problem with Newcastle and with Villa...i go to request a scout report, comes into my inbox with the usual info (potential, good signing(etc) and where he would be in my team) however, when i click 'view report' comes up and says 'Need to request scout report'?

It's an issue we're aware of and investigating as a matter of urgency. A temporary workaround is to delete a large number of old scout reports; this should allow new ones to compile properly.

Haven't read through the whole thread, but is anyone else having an issue with unrealistic job offers when starting off unemployed?

I've fully loaded all of the home nations and Ireland, and the top two divisions of the major leagues in Europe. Created my manager with a Sunday League rep and English nationality. I was expecting to get jobs from the bottom divisions of one of the home nations, but that doesn't seem to be the case! I'm getting offered the Rostock job on the first day, and if I skip past the first week and start applying to all jobs again, the next offer I get is from Reggina in Serie B. Meanwhile, Crewe and Kettering lose their managers and I'm rejected from both jobs.

I imagine this is something to do with the Italian/German jobs being offered from the lowest available division, but this isn't very realistic at the moment.

i have read through the patch notes, but i did not notice any mention of reputation tweeks? there is an issue with the reputation of taking a team from lower leagues to top leagues and reputation not increasing adequately (especially if you dont win the league but go through playoffs)

can someone let me know if they have noticed a difference

I've started my 2nd season at Bilbao and its the 20th july and still there's no fixtures been made for any team. Usually the fixtures are on the 9th, so I'm starting to wonder if this is a bug.

Now a week later and still no fixtures this has to be bug.

When I'm looking at my squad, on the left side there is a button where you can choose different views. I like to have a "selection info" view, but after a continue or two the view always switches to "general info". I think this has been happening for the past few FM's, and with this new patch it's more often than ever.

I'm sorry if this has already been posted, but please answer me because this issue is driving me nuts...

As mentioned before somewhere in here it's really not good that the developers of a game I've paid £30 for, actually releases an update that ruins a merchandise that was working fine...

I think 'ruined' is a bit over the top mate, it certainly hasn't fixed any of the things most people wanted fixing but it's certainly not ruined either.

Unless of course, its made the game unplayable through a bug such as the missing scout reports, or has made your game refuse to load - as has happened in a lot of cases, including mine.

Yes, that's quite true......

The only thing of note thats happened so far to me is that my scouting now seems to have more than tripled in price but I don't really care because the scouting is so crap that I never use the advice anyway and sacked the scout.

hiring staff is made harder by the boardroom cancelling staff deals because we dont need another <insert role> when i have hired him with a contract for a differant role, it ignores the contract and goes on what it says thier current role is.

Ok one other glaring issue other then the HUGE increase in the price necessary to sign Eriksen and the increased cost of players in general, is that my team are dropping like flies to injuries. I didn't see anything about them tweaking this in the update, is it possible one of the updates inadvertently changed injury risk? Because I haven't changed anything except start a new game, and it's a little frustrating to constantly reload due to the number of injuries.

They have confirmed that injuries are unchanged in the patch. There are still less injuries in-game than real life.

Looking at statistics over time and comparing them to real-life injury statistics isn't actually helpful when on occasion half the players on the pitch have received knocks that makes them underperform and both teams have used all 6 substitutions to replace players at 50% condition (that is essentially the same as an injury). Then you go several matches in a row without as much as a knock...

I have never ever seen that in the 22 seasons i have played so far and your wrong 50% is nothing like an injury, a player can recover from being down to 50% fitness and finish a game more often than not.

With all due respect, that is a very average comment. If people are having saves wrecked by an update they have no choice but to have once it has installed, "as long as it takes" is not really acceptable.

With all due respect, it is what it is. They have already said its an urgent matter, It will take as long as it takes. Not sure why you cut out where i pointed out its a matter of urgency. All they can do is do it as fast as they can.

I wasnt being dismissive at all, i really dont understand why you have decided to pick a fight over the matter. I never said he couldnt be annoyed. It will take as long as it will take, it is a matter of urgency, and hopefully it will be out sooner than later. How is any of that dismissive?

Patch has caused me issues as well, killed my old save re Greek players.

Very much yes. 3 seperate updates totalling over 600mb, steam then telling me the 4th would be over a gigabyte, complete uninstall of steam + FM, reinstall FM from disc, then another 7 updates in excess of 1100mb before FM would finally load. More relevant feedback: For the A-League, glad you now finally get a league win awarded in your manager history for winning the premiership, although strangely you don't get anything in your bibliography about it :rolleyes:

And there's no recorded win in your manager history for taking out the finals series, BUT whoever wins the "Finals Series" gets an "A-League (Regular Season)" mention in their bibliography instead, which is obviously wrong :confused:

Besides that mix-up, impressed with the Aussie data updates, players like espindola, mattei, matty thurtell, vrteski, usai (previously quality Lower league free transfers) all slotted in and rearranged where they should. Good to see Tom Rogic (who despite being at the nike academy wasn't even given a position in the release database) dealt with too, and the state league teams got attention.

There are loads more reds for goalkeepers handling outside the area. Can I just point out that never in a million years is catching a ball and travelling slightly outside of the area a red card? Preventing a goalscoring opportunity is, but it is almost never PGSO that is resulting in a red card for goalkeepers. Irritating that this is still in the game, 5 years later.

I've played 3 friendly's so far, and this has happened twice.

Not to mention it's rather difficult to explain the motives behind a goalkeeper doing that. It's not momentum taking them outside of the area because it always happens when they're just standing there then slowly twitching forward until being caught and sent off. Maybe it's just in the game for the red card count to add up in the simulation process?

I think it's an animation problem; in other words it is supposed to be momentum carrying them out, but the 3D engine isn't showing this properly.

No idea why it's being punished with a red card though.

3 seperate updates totalling over 600mb, steam then telling me the 4th would be over a gigabyte, complete uninstall of steam + FM, reinstall FM from disc, then another 7 updates in excess of 1100mb before FM would finally load. Steam was always going to fail when implemented in the game. I'm sure it's not failed for SI with decreased piracy after initial launch, and I'm sure it's not hurt their sales either - so it's perhaps not a failure for them. But for the community, I think we were all reluctant to buy the game knowing it was going to be integrated with Steam and since release it's not done anything to dispel that thought process.

Most hardcore gamers who've played numerous releases on Steam have had many-a-hard time. I've grown to detest it.
