Is it allowed for squad members and staff to run onto the field to celebrate goals nowadays?

I believe so but if all the players are off the park, the opposition can kick off apparently

Henry only scored 51 goals for France. If he gets to the level of Neymar, let alone Messi or Ronaldo, then Mbappe could obliterate that record.

Indeed.

He's also gonna have over 20 caps by the end of the WC, at 19. Wonder if he could beat Thuram's record of 140-something.

Kylian Mbappe is the first teenager to score at least twice in a World Cup match since Pele vs Sweden in 1958.

just shows how rare a young player excels at a World Cup, although I didn't think it would be 60 years

142's the record, to be precise. That'll be difficult to surpass, but at ~10 caps a year for the next 12 years (provided he avoids any massive long-term injuries), Mbappe's certainly got a decent chance.

how is Mbappe an apprentice when he had a cracking season for Monaco last year that put him on the global map?

it's not as if he's came into this World Cup and done a Toto Schillachi from Italia 90 :D

Thauvin's about to get his chance.

to be honest, he's not in the team because of good players

unlike the Argentina one when it's player coaches team/coach picks local players to get fans on his side

Indeed. Mbappé has been known by everybody for 1½-2 years and is the second most expensive player in the history if you look beyond the fake loan deal PSG made due to FFP.

Schillachi was more of a "one tournament wonder" then an apprentice in 1990. IIRC he scored for Italy only once after Italia90 :D
