That is a good evening not only to our viewers in Africa, but those all around the world, including in France, the United Kingdom and Brazil! Lester Meek: For those of you that didn’t see last night’s Semi-Final, where Tanzania, Mozambique, Madagascar, Kenya and Zambia qualified for the Final, I am your host Lester Meek, and this is South Africa! I have to thank the Broadcasters, African Television, Radio and Complete Entertainment Revolution for broadcasting the tournament. Lester Meek: The countries in this Semi-Final have all given each other points based on their national team’s performances over the past twelve months. They gave small amounts of points, from one point up to seven, as well as the big ones: 8, 10 and 12 points. The five nations that accumulate the most points will qualify for the final, alongside the five who qualified yesterday, and South Africa and Senegal. Lester Meek: Unfortunately, some further points deductions are going to need to take place. Guinea, Guinea-Bissau and Libya all opted not to vote, which isn’t actually an option at all. As a result, they have all been deducted 12 points. And Algeria initially allocated points to Niger, who will feature in tomorrow’s Semi-Final, so they have also had 12 points taken off them. Tanzania were deducted points yesterday, and still qualifed in first place, so it’s not all bad news. With that in mind, let’s take a look at the initial table of nations.
