CaptainPlanet
Across 15 years of CM/FM I have always been a superstitious mouse cursor hoverer, and I know many other people on here as well. Where do you hover your cursor in FM09? Have you found a winning place to hover?! Mine is just to the left or right of the timeline, depending on if I'm home or away. humanriff
come on people. we do this. especially during penalties - does clicking/swivvling/swooshing over player/keeper work?! More to the point, do we think it does...
CaptainPlanet
mine's over the pause/play icon I did that to begin with, but I wasn't winning, so I had to change my luck by changing the cursor default position. Yes, I'm aware I'm mad. come on people. we do this. especially during penalties - does clicking/swivvling/swooshing over player/keeper work?! More to the point, do we think it does... Swooshing over the penalty takers head clearly distracts him!
Deltaroad
Yes I used to do this, old CM times far left on your team i home page. Funny how other people seem to do this too. Now since the layout has changed so much I don't do it no more, probably why I'm losing so many games.
rusty_u
Usually on the pause button.
Pr3D@T0r
I have to hover mine over my team's name at the top of the screen... I've been doing this for a good six years or so now! Great thread
Madek
I don't hover it anywhere in particular. Maybe I should though and see if it helps results...
Arkim
Behind the opposition's goal. Although lately I've stopped doing it regularly.
glamdring
Funny how you forget the things you do so often when you're not actually playing the game at the moment! I think I always move the mouse to sit ontop of my team's name at the top of the screen. I think that is just habit, from the days when you could click there to change your team's tactics and it would pause the game while you do it. Now I have to rush my cursor to the pause button and then click for my tactics!
iamweesel
Mine too is at the pause/play button i have my hands on the spacebar always too
HonkyDick
Behind the opposition's goal. Although lately I've stopped doing it regularly. Same here, I used to do it all the time. Now I just hover it behind the byline somewhere. It's never on the pitch though, unless I'm clicking a player to check his name or clicking on my one of my own players as a way of saying "pass to this guy here, you clowns". MSCCG
close to the tactics button and moving around looking through screens. I don't let go of my mouse.
CaptainPlanet
or clicking on my one of my own players as a way of saying "pass to this guy here, you clowns". lol, does that work?! Might have to try that one later...

Have you found a winning place to hover?! Mine is just to the left or right of the timeline, depending on if I'm home or away. bloody hell! i thought it was only me that did that! lol. i used keep my cursor just left of the pitch. i felt it was unlucky to have it on the pitch. with demo ive been keeping it on the 'pause' button. seems to be working fine for me. senorcoo
mine's over the pause/play icon Same here. Not for superstitious reasons, just practical.
beasle19
lol, cant believe people are as insane as me, epic post, i always have mine over the pause button. Would like to say its for reasons of changing my tactics but the sad truth is that if i have it anywhere else on the screen i blame anything that goes wrong on that. CaptainPlanet
This isn't remotely insane compared to the lengths that some people go through. There are people who play the CL music before each european game, and wear a suit on final day (You know who you are!)
daemonic
As long as it's not 'on the pitch' I don't care. I'm usually doing something else on the PC while a game plays anyway so no actual set location.
tsalter79
just over the team name tatics and the bottom left of the screen. Normally over the first letter! Been doing this for over 6 years now!
Braumiller
when highlights occur I always move the mouse so that the 'pointy finger' of the cursor is at the intersection of the halfway line and the bottom side of the pitch This, obviously (!), gives the match engine an impression I am impartial and causes it to not bias the resulting passage of play against me
Lucho
I used to avoid hovering over the names of players of the other team during matches, since it seemed to cause them to score (in my mind, of course). Now? I don't care so much, since they seem to score anyways
Harryseaess
I put mine in the very bottom right hand corner so I can't see it . I have done it for atleast 5 years now and don't intend on stopping .

dankrzyz
On my team's logo/kit or name when I'm behind and trying to score; on the "pause/change tactics" button when I'm defending a lead. Superstitious geek I am.

DJ
Mine's right on the tactics button - I need to be able to click it quickly in case anyone gets a 'minor knock' and they keep on aggravating that broken fibula whilst the game grinds away relentlessly. moneyhero
my friend used to click like crazy on the mouse for the whole of each game, i however leave mine in the dead centre of the pitch. makes a difference ..no feel like its stopping something bad from happening on the game.,.. strangely yes

JumbledSausage
Normally, during a game I place the cursor behind the left-hand goal, just off the screen. It has become something of a habit, though as I've become more of a tactical tweaker, this tends to happen less.
