ajw10
It's the right move, but it's sad. I'm going to miss Andrey.
jamez91
Pretty confident that Wenger said in the "Press Conference Digest" piece on the Arsenal website that Arshavin wasn't going anywhere. Just like Fabregas and Nasri weren't going anywhere in the summer.
SI Staff EdL Posted February 24, 2012 SI Staff Share Posted February 24, 2012 Pretty confident that Wenger said in the "Press Conference Digest" piece on the Arsenal website that Arshavin wasn't going anywhere. Just like Fabregas and Nasri weren't going anywhere in the summer. He did, they've removed it now though! Made me think of Myles Palmers line "our favourite french dictator"
Razzler
A squad who already lacked depth are now even thinner. :| Yet don't you have the likes of Denilson out on loan? Granted I am not a huge fan but what's the point of that? Even Lansbury, he couldn't get 10 games or so in this 2nd half of the season?
djvandyke
Delighted that useless lazy clown has been given the boot. Shame we couldn’t get a fee but I guess nobody in football is stupid enough to pay money for him.
Jisntdaman
Why get rid of him now though? What if we get injuries to our attacking players? I just don't get it.
djvandyke
He offers nothing and no doubt the Russians pay his wages for the next 6 months.
Klimowicz
It's the right move, but it's sad. I'm going to miss Andrey.Same, although I've missed him for the last season and a half. I watched the 4-4 at Liverpool again recently. That game epitomised his Arsenal career at that point. So abysmal before the opening goal, clinical thereafter. Maestroik
Delighted that useless lazy clown has been given the boot. Shame we couldn’t get a fee but I guess nobody in football is stupid enough to pay money for him. We did get 1 million in loan fee and possibly a future fee at the end of the season if Zenit wants to sign him permanently.
Chr1s Lawson
Who cares for money in a club that doesn't spend it, all the fuss in getting all that money for nasri, I personally didn't see the point, we might as well have let him go for free at the end of this season. dagoonerfan
What an idiotic choice by wenger Also I bet the ox gets dropped tommorow
ArsenalFan7
I don't see the point in simply loaning him out for a tiny fee that's no use to us, can't even recall him now. You can guarantee this will backfire on us through injuries or something.
jamez91
Arshavin could have really flourished if he had been played in the role behind the striker.
Chr1s Lawson
Arshavin could have really flourished if he had been played in the role behind the striker. Makes you question his signing in the first place. I mean he's our record signing but has never played in his natural position #puzzled
paperclips
So annoying when players do not play well and they are being played out of position.

dagoonerfan
I can understand when we had Cesc and Nasri why Andrey wouldn't play there. When Wilshere was fit I could understand, even when Ramsey was on form I could understand why Andrey wasn't played behind the striker, but when no-one is in form there, why didnt Wenger give Arshavin a chance? Chr1s Lawson
Anyway a 3-0 win will put us back into fourth tomorrow, should be simple enough!

Candre168
Really don't understand why we let Arshavin out on loan now...I know he's useless, but we've basically just lost a player. I guess it's convenient for the club he's gone now opposed to a transfer window, since now they don't have to bring in a replacement. Anyway, I really want to avoid the following scenarios tomorrow: 1) Us losing after being clearly ahead. 2) Us being thrashed. Anything else will be fine. I don't expect much. Kawee
I was just sent a report by Myles Palmer from my friend, regarding the 76 players we have on our wage bill. I don't know how true it is, but if it's close to the truth, it is a shocking truth. http://www.arsenalnewsreview.co.uk/index.php/news/2355/30/Wages-of-76-players-on-Arsenal-payroll

Maestroik
Based on that list, Squillaci, Almunia, Rosicky, Vela, Bendtner, Diaby, Chamakh, Denilson hopefully offloaded this summer. Not going to happen but one can hope.
jamez91
**** me. I didn't realise that some of our worst players were on 50k a week and above. Arteta 70k a week! Ludicrous. I so hope that list isn't even close to what is actually real.
djvandyke
An obscene wages structure as suggested is the only plausible reason why the club with the highest match day revenues on earth is skint despite making net profits on transfer fees.
Chr1s Lawson
How could they be paying jenkinson 20k, he hardly played a game before joining. I dont know what the divided opinion is but he can't be worth more than 5k a week surely. As for almunia & squid and pretty much everyone else
Motherlover
Obviously you have to question whether the document is legit, but to be honest it isn't far off my original assumptions about Arsenal's wage bill.
SI Staff EdL Posted February 26, 2012 SI Staff Share Posted February 26, 2012 Palmer nicked that from another blog that made it up, I'd say some of them are fairly accurate and some of them not. SI Staff EdL Posted February 26, 2012 SI Staff Share Posted February 26, 2012 or gilbertosilver @gunnerblog Funny to see Myles Palmer treat a blog which literally makes up AFC wages as if he's discovered the football equivalent of wikileaks.
Razzler
Isn't that the Arsenal style, pay youngsters decent money thinking they will stay and grow in the long term and not be poached? Sort of doesn't work, the very best still leave so you end up paying loads for the also rans
dagoonerfan
Chesney, Sagna, Kos, TV, Gibbs, Song, Rosicky, Art, Walcott, Benayoon, RVP Strange decison that with no Ox or Gervinho against assou ekotto, but Spurs have gone 4-4-2 though
Chr1s Lawson
Call me a pessimist but that team really doesn't inspire me, is that really the best we have. Time for them to prove me wrong.... come on the arsenal
dagoonerfan
My thoughts, the midfield is two slow. However it could be a 4-4-1-1? Benayoon behind RVP?

Chr1s Lawson
Just not much goal threat in the team.
