@kopfan1977 There is a cut off point for when injuries in real life are included in the game

@pamfUnfortunately in the game you can't have 2 Assistant Managers in the EPL.

Gomez and VVD both were injured pretty soon after each other! Surely that cut off point would have been shortly before the opening of the transfer window? Meaning Likes of Jota and Gomez would have/should have been included (Gomez most definitely should have been included)

@Simon Tipple - Unsure if you have scope to make any changes ahead of the next transfer window up date in the next week or so? Had a quick scan and everything seems ok on the Brighton front except for Sanchez. I don't look in the editor at CA and PA, but he's 2.5 stars and only room to improve to 3 star in the save I started. Even if his CA is to remain the same his PA could be given a boost / even bigger boost, so he could be a starting prem GK in the future? Think he's shown enough to warrant a bigger boost in booth CA and PA at this point. What are your thoughts?

If you can make further changes let me know and I'll have a think about his attributes, e.g. 20 for composure lol.

Cheers

Sanchez has a pretty high random potential range that will if he's lucky allow him to become a very good PL keeper, which makes sense given his relative lack of experience. I imagine it will probably be changed to a fixed value if he remains first choice goalkeeper through the season.

Thanks @pamf - they are both assistant managers, but the game only supports one assistant manager per club.

Was this not a new feature this year? I can offer Krawietz a new contract as ass man and then have both of them as ass man.

@pamf @diddydaddydoddy

As far as I am aware, we would need to make two Asst Mgrs the norm across the whole nation to be able to support setting two at the same club in the database, for that to be realised in-game.  Currently, if we set two Asst Mgrs at, say, Liverpool, the game will make one of them a Coach (First Team).

James Rodriguez's transfer to Everton has been confirmed to be a free transfer.

Glyfi Sigurdsson is Everton's vice captain, not Lucas Digne.  Digne is the 3rd captain.  (Michael Keane seems to be the 4th captain fwiw).

I'm also of the opinion that Phil Jagielka should be an Everton Favored Personnel (if not club icon)

@gcoard - thanks for all that; very useful information.

I really find some decisions regarding the changes in stats or CA/PA ... confusing at least, like few points being knocked of Rashford, Greenwood or Bissaka.. OK Greenwood is out of form, so you might roll with

Kinda baffling to be honest. We've had players like Leon Bailey hold their PA for more than one edition, despite never showing that level, but Rashford gets nerfed despite his numbers being seriously good and Greenwood is still a kid with a little bad form.

I've honestly never seen SI seem so reactionary.

Hi,

I was expecting a slight improvement from Calvert-Lewin but he remained as it is. Maybe I'm wrong but 15 to finalization seems little to me considering that he scored 18 Gol in 26 match and he doesn't take penalties.

is there any explanation in particular?

thank you

Hi guys

Something I noticed. Frank Lampard starts off only with a Continental A licence but I believe he has his UEFA Pro Licence, according to this: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_managers_and_coaches_who_have_qualified_for_the_UEFA_Pro_Licence#Qualified_in_2019

Regarding Liverpool.

1. Is there any particular reason for why Salah's Consistency was lowered to 13? If anything, given his fantastic form and the fact that he's the league's top goalscorer again he should have his Consistency increased, it was 15 in the previous database. He also had his Strength & Composure lowered a little bit, I won't argue with that, I thought they were slightly off anyway, but it's now finally the time to acknowledge what a great penalty taker he is. I already mentioned that after Beta release but his penalty taking record is insane and it's still going:

https://www.transfermarkt.com/mohamed-salah/elfmetertore/spieler/148455

And even Guardiola acknowledges it: "We don't have specialists in this area like Salah is"

https://www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/mancity-penalties-gundogan-debruyne-aguero-19790473

Suggestion: Consistency 13->16; Technique: 16->17; Penalties: 15->17

2. Robertson has so far been the player of the season for Liverpool alongside Salah despite the fact that as a team they've been struggling (although pretty much any reasonable person understands the main reason behind their struggles as a team). When I see someone like Bernardo Silva have 20 Work Rate whilst Robertson only has 17 it makes me chuckle internally a little bit (nothing against Silva btw, just using him as comparison).

He started every single Premier League game for Liverpool this season, and was only substituted once on the 85th minute against City.

https://www.transfermarkt.com/andrew-robertson/leistungsdaten/spieler/234803

He's put in at least 7/10 performance in most games for Liverpool this season and has never fallen below 5/10. He's the defender with most Big Chances Created (8) in PL and also has more key passes than any defender apart from Luke Shaw.

https://www.kickest.it/en/premier-league/stats/players/big-chance-created/2020-2021

https://www.kickest.it/en/premier-league/stats/players/key-passes/2020-2021

Suggestion: Stamina 17->18; Work Rate 17->18; Determination 15->17

3. Trent's Natural Fitness decreased from 16 to 15? Why was it done?

Good job on decreasing his defensive attributes though, it's been a long time coming.

4. Alisson's Natural Fitness was decreased from 18 to 15 and it makes little sense to me because his biggest issue in the last two seasons has not been "being fit" but rather "staying fit". If anything his Injury proneness should be increased, but it looks like it's already been done. Whenever he returns from a short-term injury though it's like he never left - sharp and steady, agility and pace on check as well as reflexes.

5. Matip's Natural Fitness shouldn't be decreased to 13 - same reasoning as for Alisson but to a lesser extent. There really should be an attribute called Natural Sharpness, it would really go a long way of helping to separate players who can withstand periods of regular 90 minute matches to those who are good at becoming sharp quickly after coming back from an injury.

6. Thiago - poor Thiago, man, his style of football really does not fit Liverpool at all. His tackling & positioning are just not good enough to work under Klopp's system. That also results in a ridiculous number of fouls and yellow cards.

https://www.cbssports.com/soccer/news/liverpools-thiago-is-a-foul-machine-how-the-midfield-maestro-became-the-premier-leagues-leading-hacker/

Suggestion: Dirtiness 8->13; Positioning 14->12; Tackling 13->11

Apart from those everything seems fine to me.

@ClarkKent1

Salah - Salah's (and Robertson) performance this season has not been at the same level as it has over the previous two seasons. He has scored still hence why his scoring based attributes are the same but his overall performances have been inconsistent like every Liverpool player this season. Penalty Taking could be increased slightly but that isn't the only attribute that constitutes successful penalties. Your suggestions show no offset to your increases and I don't believe his CA should be increased.

Robertson - that is your opinion that he's been Player of the Season / quoted match ratings. I do agree he seems to be one of our most consistent performers but I reiterate his levels aren't quite the same as they have been over the previous few seasons. I don't have any input on Silva. He has had a CA increase this season btw.

TAA - I simply thought it was a tad to high.

Alisson - Fair point on your reasoning.

Matip - His constant injuries contribute to his Natural Fitness not being as high as others

Thiago - regards his style of play; he has yet to adapt to the English style of football, he was injured for a decent amount of time that he has had to recover from and become sharp, he has played predominately as a DM for us and he's not a Fabinho, he has not played in front of a settled nor our best defensive partnership, his tackling has been rash in that position, he has started to play slightly further upfield recently which his passing and positioning play seems to be better suited in our system, our furthest two midfielders tend to be more supportive/ ball carrying - yet if that his role has not had massive opportunity to learn that role, he has made some good tackles but his timing and possible physicality / concentration are off.

Thanks @MatthewS17 - I share the bafflement, in that I honestly can't see how Rashford has been "nerfed".  Does he no longer perform well in-game?  Has he no longer the potential to become one of the world's best strikers?  Ditto Greenwood.  "Reactionary" looks harsh, here.

As they say, form is temporary, class is permanent. I don't think knocking / adding a few points of CA/PA for a player because he had a good, or bad run of form is, 'right', especially if it is done to some players, and not to the others. I do agree that United's, or Liverpool's for example, attackers are having a bit of downturn, but I don't think that warrants such changes, especially if it is their potential. I would understand if it is CA... but anyway, we can argue about this in circles until the world ends so...

Is this possibly why from the get-go Rashford can't get into the England squad? He may not be having the best season for me, but he's on course for 15+ league games and I don't see any reason other than database changes for why he is cut from the first England squad and hasn't made one since. Shaw, who has been second choice for me has made the squad.

Maybe positional, although Southgate uses AML in his preferred formations. In my new save Ings and Calvert-Lewin are called up ahead of him. They're not quite as highly rated as Rashford but are 20/20 natural centre forwards.

As Chelsea FC's rival club, Millwall FC is set to the maximum level (100).

I think it needs to be fixed that Chelsea think of Millwall as a bigger rival than Tottenham.

Just a suggestion, based on the current form in their youth teams, I think:

Spoiler

Charlie McNeil, maybe could, or not, be upped from -8 to -85
Joe Hugil however, given his form in the U18/U23 should definetely be upped from -75 to -8 I think. No guarantees they will become first team players, of course, but given their performances, it wouldn't come as a huge surprise I think.
Also, Ethan Galbraith I think he should have fixed determination, in game its random, 0, but I think it should be at least 10-12.. he probably won't become the next Zidane, but he has that 'never say die' attitude about his game, similar to McTominay I think.

Why does smith-rowe have a contract as a first team starter for arsenal??????

even a player like saka is considered a squad player, so make it make sense.

I haven't even played my first game of the season and i got issues in the squad because he wants a new contract and you cant negotiate past first team player, apparently he's coded in as some amazing player. its actually draining watching arsenal updates on this game always player issues that don't make sense.

he's on a 10k contract and was loaned to hudderfsield last season how is he a first team player?????

Do I really need to pull up appearance stats and compare them to saka or will common sense prevail?

The research team don't set players expected playing time, or squad status.

If you feel it's out of place it would be worth raising it as a bug.

- Arteta has mainly been using a formation using a number 10 this season.

- Now Ozil has left the club, Smith-Rowe is now, I would presume from what you are saying, Arsenal's best rated number 10 in-game all things considered, so the game is setting his squad status as that.

- Smith-Rowe has been starting most games since before Christmas in real life, so to my mind, the situation you find in game accurately reflects real life.

- Smith-Rowe now has competition from Odegaard both in real life and in game, though he is obviously only a loan until the end of the season.

- Saka has more competition from other squad members for his primary position as a winger, so the game is treating him, at this stage, as a "squad player".

- As Santy says, if you think there is a game-side bug here then feel free to raise it in the appropriate forum, but I don't think there actually is an issue here, either on the game-side, but certainly not research side.

- Sorry if you feel otherwise or are still unclear on anything, I can try to explain further if you have any questions.

according to my staff he's the 4th best cam in the team after odegard, willian and cebellos

He did break into the team around Christmas but 2 months in the team doesn't seem alot when saka is still projected as a squad player. I will raise this in the bugs section I thought the squad selections where done here.

There is probably a lot of gameplay code at play here and in-game context that is shaping this outcome, so I'm not convinced there is any bug here.  Odegaard is a loan until the end of the season with no option to buy included so he will be disregarded from longer term calculations.  Similarly Ceballos is a loan and will primarily be shortlisted as an MC, not an AMC.  Willian will almost certainly be being primarily shortlisted for the squad as a wide player.  Smith-Rowe on the other hand is a natural AMC and has a high CA for his age and a very strong relative PA.  So I don't think it is unusual that after a few months of progress given the competition at the club, he wants to be considered a first team player for the AMC slot in contract negotiations, as, I would assume he'd be wanting to be guaranteed a starting berth at Arsenal given the lack of direct competition.  As I say, this also reflects real life pretty well, for what is a fairly difficult scenario to balance in-game.  While you might personally disagree with what is happening in-game due to personal preference / opinion, I really don't think there is a "bug" here that needs a universal code change for all users.  Regarding Saka being a "squad player" - this is a separate thing which isn't connected to Smith-Rowe as Saka plays a different position where there is more current competition in the Arsenal squad, so their expected squad statuses should not have a direct comparison drawn.

I guess if there is a "bug" or rather a feature request, it is that for situations like this, there should be a player interaction available for Smith-Rowe where you can explain to him why you don't consider him an "important first team player" despite the lack of direct competition for the AMC slot.  Whether that be that your plan is to bring in a more experienced player to rotate with him for the AMC position, or that you plan on using a formation without an AMC but still want to use him on a rotational basis as a winger, or whatever the reason is why you as an individual manager don't consider him an important first team player.  Then the game code could work out whether the player wants to accept this and alter his demands as a result.

The last time Chelsea played Millwall at first team level, this happened. It'd likely happen again if they played now, and even in meeting in last season's FA Youth Cup there were strict limits on who could buy a ticket in an otherwise very relaxed competition. This is a heated rivalry that deserves the 20 score in FM.

Saville is the only player to go on loan from Chelsea to MIllwall in the last 25 years and is an exception to the rule. If you think the limits on loans are too harsh depending on the level of rivalry, that's something to raise in the transfers forum, but as far as data goes it's very much valid for this rivalry to be scored as 20.
