I do enjoy a good downloaded tactic, but i've had enjoyable saves and succesful using a 4231, 442, 4141 and some of them created by myself but they do lack the knap overpowered killer edge. Will also agree that creating your own long term successful tactics does seem to be tougher this year. sergiolagartija Posted May 8, 2020 Share Posted May 8, 2020 Hi Knap. I managed to finish 4th in the spanish First Division using mostly Fireandwater 4321 and Sicilian for the tough games. I wanted to play 2 strikers upfront so i´ve started the new season (predicton 11th) with Fireandwater 4312. I´ve won 4-3 the 2 first matches so i´m afraid i´ll suffer against harder opposition. I've just had the same thing in my save... Started the season superbly W5 D1 L0, conceding just 3 goals and then it all falls apart, leaking 11 goals in 4 games. Defending is pretty shocking in FM and has been for 2+ years now. Trying to defend at set pieces is unbelievably bad. Normally at that point I'd be swapping and changing tactics after losing those games and letting in all those goals but I promised myself I'd stick with the same tactic all season for a change. Thankfully, we won our most recent match and hopefully things are back on track but it's ridiculous how these things can happen. edit: although I will add with your results, you did play Man U, Man City, Chelsea and Spurs in your bad run of results, and since your win over Burnley, you've had much easier games. Admittedly, you've scored bucketloads and form/morale is probably too much of a factor in FM20, but playing Man U, Man City, Chelsea and Spurs is not the same as stuffing Watford, Wet Spam. WBA and Brum. Our run of 4 bad games were against teams in 9th, 12th, 4th & 6th. Our next two are against teams in 3rd & 2nd so let's see if we can keep winning after beating Ebsfleet last time out.
