You have a problem there Please don't talk about issues you don't understand. 0.5mb is pretty normal upload bandwidth. It depends on what package he's on with his ISP, and regardless, he could upload a video to Youtube on a 56k connection if he wanted to, it would just take an ungodly amount of time to do so.
