However Spain do looke like the better team. Even if Germany wins and it ends up a 3 way 6-6-6 tie, Spain is going to finish first because of GD. If Germany loses, they're still second with a win against Costa Rica, assuming Spain beats Japan. GD ahead of h2h is so dumb. In the Euros it would be a table of the three teams only involving matches between them. So Japan would be on 3 points with 0 GD. Costa Rica 3 points with a 0 or worst GD (depending on how many Germany beats them by in your scenario). Germany would be on 3 points and 0 or better GD (depending on how many they beat Costa Rica by).
