108
I have half a star rating, yet my matches run absolutely perfectly? If thats not even one star, I can't imagine what five star looks like!
Wakers
Just to add my 2p to this issue - I've encountered extremely jerky starts to matches twice out of 4 games. Both times, there was a pretty intense amount of hard drive use going on in the background - when this stopped, the match graphics returned to being perfectly smooth. Maybe it is an issue with background processing? AMD X2 6000+ 4gb DDR 2 X1950 Pro PCI-E Win 7 RC

IMT
3d was a bit jerky on my main PC for 09, so I played it windowed, then clicked on the taskbar at the bottom, so in effect the PC didn't think FM was the main thing running, worked a treat (if any of that makes sense)

maxt19
OK i have tried every single different combination of settings - windowed/default, low/medium/high/auto select graphical detail, dont show/show crowd and all of them are practically unwatchable. I've updated my drivers from the ATI website and no difference. I know i have a pretty poor graphics card as it's the standard one from the laptop but everything was fine on FM09 so why is it so bad? n0va
It is deffo a BUG! I have a top of the range laptop with blu-ray drive, dual processors and 4GB of RAM!!!!! The game processes brilliantly and plays nice...then you load the match and it lags or feels like it jutters alot. This can get a little annoying. Not a big deal for me but really something that should be sorted out. If BGS can make CM10 with a better 3D engine that does not lag - i am sure si could make a poor graphical 3D engine not lag aswell!!! Don't get me wrong - i was excited about CM10 - Tried it - didnt like because of bugs - not tried it with the new patch yet but i LOVE FM10 despite the small issues so far. BEST DEMO EVER!!! stokes_83
Do you guys think CPU and memory has a big affect on 3D performance as well, or is it more likely the video card? fluorescentadolescent
I've got a similar problem. It's jerky in pre season without crowds, but then when i get the big crowds in the league it's absolutely unplayable. I'm going to upgrade, but i'm not sure what to do. My current specs are... Processor: Intel® Core Duo CPU T2350 @ 1.86GHz (2 CPUs), ~1.9GHz Memory: 1024MB RAM Card name: Mobile Intel® 945 Express Chipset Family Manufacturer: Intel Corporation Chip type: Intel® GMA 950 Would another GB of RAM help me significantly? gullee
For me, friendlies behind closed doors (intra-squad friendlies) give no jerkiness at all but proper matches give some jerkiness. It is probably the result of my low RAM though as I have only 1GB on windows vista. everything else is beyond system reqs (4 stars on the graphic rating). I will try today without crowds when I get home to see if I still get jerkiness. I can do without the crowds but I really prefer full-screen mode over windowed so wouldn't want to switch that. Svenc
2.2 ghz processor - 2gb memory. Macbook Pro. GeForce 8600M GT graphics card. Still very jerky on 3d! Try to turn off cool&quiet if you're running an AMD processor, I've noticed that the thing runs slightly smoother when this is being turned of. Speaking of which, what 3d ratings do you guys have in the game? I'm running an X2 5200+ and a GeForce 8600GT myself, a rig that is running the likes of Pro Evo 2010 flawlessly, and yet I'm given 1.5 stars out of 5 in the 3d options screen. jags4ever
I had this problem last night when I was running other programs on the same HDD causing a lot of disk activity. If your disk is "thrashing" ie the activity light is going mental when the game is running then look to run a defrag (start > all programs > accessories > system tools) or download a defrag program off the net. Simple step by step (prob missing things but it might help others not to sure about what to do) Stop everything running on the PC first that isnt needed, run a disk cleanup utility (I use the free one from IOBIT - search on Google and you will find it as ive had a brain fart on the name) this will delete loads of junk files and may also fix some problems you dont know about. Run the defrag utility Reboot your PC Start FM and hopefully the jerky gfx is gone Other options are to look at the free space on the HDD , if it is fairly small (ie under 20% of the total volume) then consider deleting some of the stuff there or backing it up to DVD or another disk if you can. superbocksuperstar
It gets slightly jerky for me. I've tried to changed to windowed mode but it is greyed out in the preference screen. Any ideas. I'm using vista and downloaded the demo through steam.
Solo
For those having issues, try turning off all background apps & only have the demo running. There are tons of apps that running in the background of computers that may be causing the slowdown. There are apps out there that can shut down all non-vital programs on your computer while leaving those programs that are essential to operating running. For thoese with duo core pc's - maybe try looking at your processor affinity to make sure the program is using both cpu's. If it is using both, maybe try using just one cpu & see if that helps. Some programs actually run worse on duo core computers. Is FM optimzed for duo core computers? (Sorry, I'm not aware of all the specs for FM) If I'm not mistaken (and I certainly could be) but doesn't FM 'simulate' other games in the background while playing your game? Maybe this is the cause for some jerkyness??? Please read up online about trying either suggestion (background closing apps & processor affinity). I wouldn't want my suggestions to be the reason someone cpu tanks.
Milk Lizard
I have a similar issue with a dual core 2 duo 2ghz and nvidia 9600 m gt I also have this problem and also had it last year witha dual core 2,2 and i remember a couple of other people complaining about the same with dual core 2,2. Nevermore FC
Well, my laptop is rated with 0 stars and I still can run the game (quite fast) until the games. I still can see the game, but it's quite painful (almost like watching a game in rojadirecta) Now, last year the demo didn't even give me the 3d matches options and after the 1st patch I could play without any problem. I hope the same happens for this version. I also found out that with Vertical Scrolled Zoom works a little better for me.
jackmlio
Hi I have played the demo and love it but just like last years 3d match engine for me its really jerky and laggy and doesn't run smoothly.I don't know if its my computer or what i hope some one would be kind enough to help me and tell me if it is but the rest of the game runs fine. ------------------ System Information ------------------ Time of this report: 10/16/2009, 22:31:30 Machine name: JACKSLAPTOP Operating System: Windows XP Professional (5.1, Build 2600) Service Pack 3 (2600.xpsp_sp3_gdr.090804-1435) Language: English (Regional Setting: English) System Manufacturer: Hewlett-Packard System Model: Presario C300 (RT150EA#ABU) BIOS: Ver 1.00PARTTBL Processor: Genuine Intel® CPU T1300 @ 1.66GHz Memory: 1014MB RAM Page File: 805MB used, 1634MB available Windows Dir: C:\WINDOWS DirectX Version: DirectX 9.0c (4.09.0000.0904) DX Setup Parameters: Not found DxDiag Version: 5.03.2600.5512 32bit Unicode ------------ DxDiag Notes ------------ DirectX Files Tab: No problems found.
