The points total is calculated by multiplying the number of goals by the league modifier of the league the goals were scored in - e.g. if a player had score two goals in the Blue Square South and two goals in the Premier League in their career, their total would be: (2 (no. goals) x 3 (league modifier for BSS)) + (2 (no. goals) x 18 (league modifier for EPL)) = 6 + 36 = 42

Comment, Opinion and Analysis

Something of interest on the value list is the drop off in value of both Adam C, from £85k to £8k, and Buster Bloodhound, who dropped from £70k to just £2k. Why did they drop off so much, so suddenly? Perhaps Bloodhound's drop could partially be due to his recent injury which put him out for up to two months - but surely that wouldn't have damaged his value that much? And what of Adam C - the only difference between this month and last month is the fact that he's actually started playing. Two goals in four games isn't spectacular, but perfectly acceptable for a youngster just breaking into the side. Why do you think their values have changed so much?

At this early stage, which of the three measures of "goals" do you think will be the most accurate representation of the quality of a player - total career goals, goals per game, or the table of goals adjusted for quality of the league?

However, leagues at a lower level than that may give you more chance of starting early on.

If you don’t want to pick a team to play for, then you can choose a league and I will assign you a random team in that league - or alternatively, you can just leave it to me to randomly assign you a league and team to play for. And feel free to be as exotic with your nationality/league combinations as you like.

Player personality: As a further little bit of interest, you can also pick your players personality from the following list:

Globetrotter - the type of player who is not afraid of change, and is willing to travel to new countries to search for new opportunities.

Lone wolf - driven, ambitious, but maybe a little full of themselves at times. Will court controversy to get what they want.

Model professional - wherever he goes, he never causes a fuss, but just gets down to the serious business of playing football.

Big game player - whether its the big crowds or the bright lights, this guy never fails to shine when the pressure is on.

Faithful servant - believes that when a club makes a commitment to him, he should make a commitment to them. Will stick with his team through thick and thin.

Bad boy - it’s probably detrimental to his career, but he just can’t help himself - he spreads a cloud of dissension wherever he goes.
