Widzew Łódź

2020/2021

Well, there we go again. After a failed attempt with Milano City FC, I continued my Kaiserslautern-save. Also a youth only save, and it's a lot of fun. But I wanted to try the real challenge again. So here I am. This time in Poland. For a long time I wanted to play in this country, especially with this club. Widzew Lodz is a very big Polish club, 4 times winner of the Ekstraklasa and in 82/83 they played in the semi-finals of the Champions League(European Cup).

Our first season went very well! We won the second division(Fortuna I Liga) without losing one single game. We could upgrade our junior coaching and youth recruitment three times! So both of them are now Excellent.

We also had a decent run in the Polish Cup; we lost in the Qtr Final against Elana Torun after penalties.

Such a shame, but I totally forgot to make a screenshot of the youth intake preview. This was my first ever intake at this club:
Z4dofji.png
0JEsug4.png

For a first intake I'm happy with it. I think that Lipinski is a very nice talent, hopefully he can develop into a good defender for us. I also like Baranowski and Swederowski, although the last one only got 1,5 star potential. But I really like his first touch and technique. Let's see how he will develop.

Two of the best players this season were Konrad Gutowski and Sebastian Rudol. They both recently signed new deals.

EDIT: Forgot to mention that we've got Armand Garrido as Director of Football, but with those stats and personality he is also responsible for the youth intakes, until I find a better HOYD.

Season Review 2212/13

First season back in PL and we have some how finished 4th

Think its a poor division with only finishing on 64 points enough to finish 4th

This is the highest finish since 2155/56 (57 years!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

Lost in the Semi Final of the League Cup to Preston (PL Winners)

We finally have a couple of decent players , actually wonderkdis, (Pinner and Elliot). The problem is now getting them to sign new contracts. Neither of them are interested. As you can see from one of the screenshots they both want to leave:(.

The youth intake looks interesting. Fingers crossed a couple make the grade

FC Bavois - Intro

Trying to start this again. FC Bavois is a club from Bavois, Switzerland. They play their matches at Terrain Communal, also known as Stade des Peupliers (1,000 all-seater capacity). Founded in 1941, Bavois have never won a competition and usually played between 4th and 5th Swiss tiers, before getting promotion to 3rd division in 2015. They managed to get promotion to the Challenge League (2nd tier) this season for the first time, after finishing 8th in 2018/19.

Our squad is really weak compared to the league standard, so our goal is mainly try to be competitive and avoid relegation. Only one club goes down, so there is some hope.

Media Prediction | Manager Profile* | Facilities | Squad (part 1) | Squad (part 2)

*As you can see, I'm already in september, so I'm studying for a National C Licence and some attributes have already developed.

I got sacked. My squad was absolutely terrible, this is probably the worst club I've ever managed (in comparison with the other teams in the division). Andelko Savic, our best player, was a Elite-level player for Swiss Third Tier - even he couldn't match Challenge League level, so imagine the rest of them.

image.thumb.png.ae9042e0067ca42807849ae4ab3694dc.png

We had a decent first half of the season and managed to go to the mid-season break in 9th, one point above Kriens. However, our second part was awful and we failed to win in 12 games, with six draws and six losses. We actually had the 6th best defence in the league, but our attacking force was awful. We have only scored 15 goals in 32 matches, seven from Savic. Our youth intake was good, but none of the players were prepared to play already - this killed the last hope I had.

Here's how the table looks after my sacking. I'll holiday into the end of the season to see what happens, but Bavois is probably going down.

image.thumb.png.5009fbf782a8de63c5070253a0c33075.png

I'll look to start in another country, thinking about Sweden.

FC Energie Cottbus

FC Energie Cottbus

Season Summary 2021 - 2022

Strong first season in 2nd Bundesliga

After securing promotion from 3rd Bundesliga in our first year I was not optimistic of us staying up in the 2nd Bundesliga, and the media agreed, betting on us to finish dead last. We started the season good, drawing at home to Jahn Regensburg before beating SV Sandhausen 3-0 away. Optimism was high, but we came down to earth soon enough with two losses and a draw. We were very unstable for big parts of the season, but overall we have to be extremely happy, finishing in what was a very lucky 7th position.

We were great at set pieces this year and combined with a fast paced attack we managed to grab some really good wins along the way. Unfortunately in some games we conceded goals early and as soon as that happened we only had set pieces as our weapon to get back into games. Attacking against a compact deep-lying defense is a big issue for us.

We have quite a few young players that keeps developing nicely and this is great, especially considering the rule preventing players younger than 17 on January 1st to play league games. I think this rule has been changed to 16 year olds in real life, how that has not been updated in the game is beyond me. We have some serious talent in our U19 squad and with the right training and game time I think we can create a decent side. But it will take many years. We are miles away from Bundesliga quality and the quality difference between Bundesliga and 2nd Bundesliga is extremely big.

Our biggest worry by far is that we are probably one year away from losing our best player, Tobias Eisenhuth. He is a class player that will probably develop into a Bundesliga quality player, but he has 12 months left on his contract and refuses to renew it!

Our finances went into a shocking state throughout the year, but a very nice league finish payout of £10,71 million helped a lot. This also gave thumbs up from the board to invest in upgrades for both senior and junior training facilities. It mighy be a bit risky to invest in both, as this will put us deep into red numbers once again, and I dont expect another 7th place finish, but we will see!

We are also building a new 16,500 seat stadium. It's extremely expensive, and we already have a stadium with 22,500 capacity, so this doesn't excactly seem like the best of ideas....

Norwegian 1st Division
2022

League - Fixtures 1 | Fixtures 2 | Table - dropped off a bit from last season into 7th but happy with that

Cup - Fixtures - another very good run to the semis, knocking out a couple of Eliteserien sides before losing to another in the end.

Finances - a little more stable, I have got youth coaching to exceptional and recruitment to average but no further facilities upgrades yet

Transfers - lost my first choice keeper at the end of the season unfortunately.

Squad

Key players

Lasse Sigurdsen - prolific as ever

Dardan Dreshaj - even better this season

Sebastian Fredriksen - another good season from the winger

Henrik Andersen - was on the fringes but now our main central midfielder

Robin Fredriksen YP19b - now our best centre half

Ante Knezkovic - wouldn't sign a new contract and off on a bosman to Silkeborg in the Danish league.

Youth Update

Intake: some more good prospects

1. Anders Rorvik YP22a - beginning | season end - an inverted winger but I'll see if I can convert

2. Thomas Haugeland YP22b - beginning | season end - I'll see if I can loan him out

3. Anders Holtedal YP22c - beginning | season end - going to be let down with the mentals I think

4. Bard Korshavn YP22d - beginning | season end - I needed a left back, wish he had better determination

5. Magnus Smorholm YP22e - beginning | season end - young keeper, will struggle with a poor personality though

2021 youth intake

1. Gunnar Larsen YP21a - I am hoping for bigger improvements next year

2. Astrit Kurti YP21b - really held up by his poor determination.  Now a Kosovo U19 player though.

3. Nils Kristian Akersvatne YP21c - great progress, played a lot of games from the sub bench in the end

4. Van-Van YP21d - getting better, moving into the first team

5. Marius Grosnes YP21e - not really progressed

6. Espen Sanden YP21f - has improved well, into my first team properly next season

2020 youth intake

Michael Andre Tvedt YP20b - he's on his way out

2019 intake update

Vidar Fone YP19a - no loan interest, probably not going to improve much

Jan Erik Alvestad YP19c - has got a little better (sorry forgot a screenshot!)

Season Division	Position Cup Notes
2020 D2 1st SF League winners, promoted
2021 D1 5th 4th
2022 D1 7th SF

Future - a little disappointing to drop back from last season, but I'm happy for now until our youth products get a little better.  We've had a very good preview of the 2023 intake....TBC!  Including a good keeper thankfully!

Only difference is my wonderkid left back is injured all season

Obviously morale is shot and can't turn it around

It's the morale that can be a real kicker, hopefully you'll get a result soon to break the cycle.

I'm pretty sure it should be ok but can we sim through multiple seasons to hopefully bring up a team from lower leagues? I'm hoping to get the original Belenenses squad who start FM20 in the fifth tier and would take back to back promotions to make them playable.

Literally, £0.  I suggested 50% of profit and a friendly and they rejected that :D

Still getting this issue, including for players I have effectively got under contract for the next 4 years (as I am adding in optional contract extension clauses).  Anyone else have the same issue?

Season 20/21 Wales - Port Talbot Town

Well this was an interesting season, we started off reasonably and built up a lead at the top of the table, around January our form fell through the floor which resulted in the gap to Haverford narrowing to two points. We were scheduled to play each other in the last game of the season and both won our final four fixtures so it was a winner takes all match with us travelling to Haverford. I was a wee bit nervous beforehand and this was the outcome:

2112710106_HaverfordwestvPortTalbot_MatchStats.thumb.png.27e689f7a1ca0a98549fce3f4f8f422d.png

So we've clinched promotion to the top tier.

I haven't played my old Nuneaton save for a fair few months now and whilst it was going alright I've decided to dive back in to this challenge with a fresh save.

My new team will be.... Witton Albion FC!

t_500x300.jpg.e652286645d7521c6da3e97fea43c86d.jpg

They are a team based in Northwich - and actually were formed as a breakaway club from the better known Northwich Victoria. They are based in Cheshire which is a region renowned for making great football players, so I thought it would be perfect!

The playing squad is possibly the worst of any team I've tried this challenge with but they are a hard-working squad and we've had a good first half of the season. The youth intake preview is also quite promising..

Season 2030/31

NordicBet Liga

Finish: 4th

Season Summary

Wow, what a final season as a semi-proffessional club. We started poorly, 3 defeats and a draw from our first 4 matches saw us bottom of the league, But then we won, and won again, and went on a streak of 9 wins from 11 games. We were soon only 3 points off the top.

In the promotion phase two jammy results like this:-

31whataresultopoftheleague.thumb.JPG.46e11ec14fe4df5de081562bb18743f0.JPG

meant that with only 4 games to play we were top!

3 defeats from our last 4 games meant we finished 4th but what a ride it was!

A first round cup exit may have helped.....

Youth

So this was our preview, which looked ok

31youthpreview.thumb.JPG.3dd3599017df47ef828ab4fb2ab15ba6.JPG

i forgot to take a screenshot of the final intake but it looked ok, with mainly positive personalities. i took on about 6 with the best looking this fella:-

31Bmazzolini.thumb.JPG.64f42be352040812cad80286276bbdd2.JPG

I'm not using an AMC at the minute so i might retrain him as a striker

Finances and Improvements

It finally happened! We are now professional! and our wage bill has shot up as a result. It did mean that the board allowed me to upgrade our youth recruitment a couple of times though so if i can keep my head above water for a couple of years with any luck we should have a really nice team going on here

At the minute we have 600k in the bank, i suspect it will be in the red in a years time.

Season 2023 (Season 4) Review - OBOS-ligaen - Norway

League | Squad | Transfers | Finances

A really good season for us and the increase skill at this tier was not that noticeable for me. Some teams were really good, but those are usually recently relegated teams from the top tier that are also professional sides. For the rest though, we were more than equal for most. I'm still constantly tweaking the tactic to suit the players, but the team seems to be very well suited for my usual lopsided 4-5-1/4-3-3 so I'm sticking with it, I think. Going into the final part of the season, we qualified for the playoffs quite easily, only a point behind the promotion spot, so the 2 draws we finished the season with turned out to be hard to take. We went into the promotion playoff and in the semi final we beat Sandnes Ulf on pens after a tense 0-0. In the final we lost on pens to Sogndal after a hard fought 3-3 match. I'd also like to remind everyone that winning the playoff final is not enough to be promoted, but rather Sogndal are now facing the 3rd last team in the top tier in a 2-legged playoff to see who plays where next season, so it's not as if we lost at the final hurdle. Still, a great first season at this tier.

In NM we beat Vard Haugesund and Orkla before losing to Aalesund in the 3rd round.

Youth intake

Youth preview - A promising intake and a golden generation.
Youth intake - A really good intake! Some really exciting players.

Espen Carlsen-Helsingen 23a - This kid looks like a perfect fit for us being a right footed player on the left.
Sebastian Davidsen 23b - A really good attacking midfielder with surprisingly good mental attributes for his age.
Torgeir Brevig 23c - Highly rated by the coaches, but other than his speed I struggle to see it.

TSV Havelse | Table | SquadTransfers | Season 2034/35 (15th Season)

Season Review:

Top half finish at last! This season we played a lot better and the results were more stable than a few seasons before. For most of the season, we were even strong contenders for the promotion to Bundesliga, but in the last 6-7 games we had some bad luck with injuries and red cards and therefore we finished on the 6th place. This is a nice result and we are slowly but surely improving our team and stature in the game. The only issue I still have with my team is the lack of strikers capable to score goals and thus I'm strongly considering retraining one of the wingers to the striker position to get more options for the next season. Anyway, I'm happy with the season outcome as we were predicted to finish the season rock bottom but we defied the odds and prepare a nice surprise. We also finally paid our loan out so hopefully, we won't lose our money month after month anymore. Let's hope we will be able to further improve our facilities with more money on our account.

In the DFB-Pokal we beat Eichstätt before we lost against Schalke 04 in the 2nd Round.

The best player and top scorer of the season was our winger Kerem Çetin. He's a good player and decent finisher and I'm strongly considering playing him as a striker next season. His biggest issue is inconsistency but I hope that he can overcome this shortcoming with experiences he has. The second-best player was once again a central defender Jörg Ruhani. His development has stalled a little bit in this season but I hope that in the next season he will work his socks off to improve his skills. The best breakthrough player from the youth academy was Rudi Cossmann. He was originally a winger but since I already have a good winger on the right side, I decided to re-train him to wingback. He adapted very quickly and played most of the games in the second half of the season.

The Board also decided to sell our best youth player Raphael Etzel to Bayer Leverkusen for 5.25M €. We received some nice money from his transfer but I have a feeling that we could get some more. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to stop or negotiate the transfer so I must accept the money we earned.

Youth Academy:

The best three players from this season's youth intake were:

  • Calvin Algermissen, central defender with good tackling and potential to play also as a defensive midfielder
  • Giannis Fligos, right full-back with nice mental skills
  • Alexander Eggert, defensive midfielder which I saw more as a central defender

After failed spells with two clubs ( Fc Romania and NK Pajde) with foreign regens playing in different country, I got a golden tip from @Winski.  I knew the club but because they changed names I thought they wouldn't produce foreign regens anymore . After research it turned out that it still was possible...   A new club where fans decide on name, logo, stadium name and in the future a lot more. A club where they train foreign players to learn the local language and football..  Brave Calling!

Caledonian Braves is my new club.

Intro

Although Caledonian Braves was formed in 2019, the club itself existed formerly as Edusport Academy. Initially created as a private football academy, Edusport Academy was founded to provide young French footballers the opportunity to combine football with education in Scotland during one year.
Created in 2011, the Edusport Academy successfully applied to join the pyramid via the South of Scotland League in 2014 and became the first club in the history of Scottish football to win promotion from the bottom of the pyramid when we won the League in 2017.
We also made history in 2015 when we won the South of Scotland League Cup. As holders of the League Cup, the trophy was displayed in the National Football Museum at Hampden Park from 2015-2017 as having ‘documented contemporary football history’ as the trophy was won by a team full of French nationals.

Promotion to the Lowland League along with our continued ambition meant that we had to take a look at our current model and in 2018, we launched OUR FOOTBALL CLUB. OFC was the name of the project aimed at separating the club from the academy and by doing so, creating a new club where an online community of fans took an active part in the running of the club.

With over 800 fans from 30 different countries, a series of online votes gave birth to Caledonian Braves. A new club identity, with a new badge and a new home ground, Caledonian Braves were officially born when the SFA Professional Game Board ratified the name change on 20th June 2019.
Edusport Academy continues to exist as the Academy of the Caledonian Braves FC.

Fans who registered via the club app could decide on the future of the club with a small payment. So they chose the club name, colors, logo and name of the stadium. In the future a lot more might be possible.

Owner Chris Ewing lives in Paris but is from Glasgow. He dreams of getting the club in the Scottish premier league by 2025.

Ground

After years of ground sharing with Annan AFC, we moved to Alliance Park at the start of the 2019/2020 season. A collaboration with North Lanarkshire Leisure has seen us develop the former site of Bothwellhaugh Playing Fields, into our home ground and training centre. With a *capacity of 500(100 seated) Alliance Park has been developed to meet SFA club License requirements and allows us the opportunity to create and develop a presence within the local community of North Lanarkshire.
The name Alliance Park was decided following an online vote, where our fans agreed that this name to be the most appropriate as our home. Alliance, not only drawing reference to the community nature of Caledonian Braves, though is also a nod to our French heritage and in particular the ‘Auld Alliance’ between France and Scotland.
We also share Alliance Park with Edusport Academy and several local boys clubs.

*Note: I edited this ground with the editor because in FM20 they were still playing at Annan .

Witton Albion FC - Season 2020/21 Review Vanarama National League North

League Performance - I was really surprised with how much of a good first season I was able to achieve with a very limited squad! After the first third of the games played it looked like we would be in a relegation battle of sorts but probably have just enough to stay up, but we went from strength to strength and narrowly missed out on the playoffs. We don't have a big squad nor do we have strength in depth but our four best players - Chris Renshaw (GK), Liam Goulding (CB), Danny McKenna (CM) and Will Jones (ST) - lead us admirably. We settled on a 4-1-2-3 system that encourages the players to be expressive and to carry the ball up the pitch, to great effect. A few difficult fixtures right at the finish of the season prevented us from sneaking into the playoffs. A very promising youth intake and good progression from last season's (holiday year) intake suggest that we could push on and secure a playoff place for next season!

Stockport win the league and South Shields go up by the playoffs. Telford, Kidderminster, Blyth and Ashton all go down.

582047673_y1table.thumb.PNG.4c1195672efc7c642c15540f8cf02bdc.PNG

FA Cup -  A dreadful performance as we exit in our first match in 2nd qualifying round to Leiston Town - over two legs also! Must do better next year for more money to come in.

FA Trophy -  Not much better here as we beat Coggeshall Town and then lose in the 1st round proper to Spennymoor.

Squad - As you can see below the goal contributions of McKenna and Jones were so vital. My top 3 players for the season were: 1. Will Jones He finished the season as division top scorer with 26 league goals. Also provides so much all-round play as a target man! If only he was 20 rather than 30. 2. Danny McKenna Not too far away from Jones. 7 goals and 14 assists in the league from centre midfield is fantastic. Luckily McKenna is only 23 so he can boss our midfield for a while longer yet. 3. Chris Renshaw Keepers match ratings never reflect properly on their performances and Renshaw's shot stopping this season was vital. He is rated as our most talented players by coaches but only has 1 year left on his contract and isn't interested in renewing it sadly!

Top youngsters - I didn't inherit very talented youngsters but I managed to get some results from them. My top 3 young players for the season were: 1. Thomas Foy Nicknamed 'Foy the Hoy' for his giant longthrow that we have started to score a fair few goals from :D A limited player that works hard. 2. Michael Butler A player that has improved a lot but has a long way to go still to cement a longer term starting spot. 3. Conor Murray To find an inverted winger at this level is a rarity but his unambitious personality is making it impossible to fulfil his potential. Has looked very good in moments though so I might persist but we have lots of depth in AMR now.

Youth Intake - A surprisingly good first intake! I'm very excited by striker Glenn Ferguson and if we can fix his personality then he could go far. Great timing too as our only decent striker Will Jones is now 30. Edward Spencer also looks decent but will have to fight it out with our other few right wingers. Clougherty also might be useful for when our star goalkeeper Chris Renshaw leaves after his contract finishes next year.

Transfers - Nothing to report.

1000566752_transfersy1.thumb.PNG.af60fbb61c16f3e5206721c72bb7bf2b.PNG

Finances - Still in the black but depleting every month. Not helped by my chairman bringing in youth staff on expensive contracts without my say! :seagull:

431656440_financesy1.thumb.PNG.82adc5fcdfb4ac82321bce3301ffd6e4.PNG

Other Updates - Two badges under my belt and now on to the National A - Our average attendance remains around the 500 mark - I brought in ex-England players Micah Richards and Peter Crouch as assistant and coach! - Youth Recruitment received a wild improvement from basic to fairly basic...

League - Fixtures 1 | Fixtures 2 | Table - after dropping out of the play offs last season I wasn't sure what would happen, but as the season went on it looks like we were going to be in the hunt for promotion, and eventually became champions and promotion to the top tier.

Cup - Fixtures - knocked out in the 4th round by Rosenborg

Finances - still mixed although I got another round each of youth coaching and recruitment upgrades

Transfers - sold a youth product to Molde for £100k + 50% share which was pretty good, considering he is an inverted winger and I don't use those.

Squad

Key players

Lasse Sigurdsen - continues to bang them in

Dardan Dreshaj - as does he

Henrik Andersen - solid as always

Robin Fredriksen YP19b - continues to improve

Espen Sanden YP21f - now our other first team centre half

Youth Update

Intake: an excellent intake!

(apologies on these, when I tagged them I put the wrong year in at first!)

1. Bahadir Akkaya YP23a - beginning | season end - good lord he's good.  Can't imagine we'll be holding on to him for long.

2. Yang Junkui YP23b - beginning | season end - straight away our best keeper but I don't like playing 16 years old too much so didn't make him first choice until near the end of the season

3. Sveinung Magnussen YP23c - beginning | season end - poor det but hopefully will turn good

4. Anton Aker-Iversen YP23d - beginning | season end - really promising striker although fractured his leg on loan to Ranheim 2

5. Dag Erik Bredal YP23e - beginning | season end - could be a good CM

A couple more were tagged as the season went on

6. Henrik Gjolstad YP23f - useful winger

7. Adrian Hagen YP23g - promising winger although weak det

2022 youth intake

1. Anders Rorvik YP22a - was sold to Molde early on

2. Thomas Haugeland YP22b - had a productive loan to Moss so will bump up to the 1st team next year

3. Anders Holtedal YP22c - poor personality will let him down

4. Bard Korshavn YP22d - getting better hopefully I can get that det up a bit more

5. Magnus Smorholm YP22e - don't think he'll play much with Junkui emerging

2021 youth intake

Gunnar Larsen YP21a - still a bit meh

Astrit Kurti YP21b - has an U21 cap but little improvement so is being released

Nils Kristian Akersvatne YP21c - quite a few starting appearances now, imagine more so next season

Van-Van YP21d - a bit disappointing

Marius Grosnes YP21e - also being released

2020 youth intake - n/a

2019 intake update

Vidar Fone YP19a - auto extended to 2024 but will probably release then

Jan Erik Alvestad YP19c - playing a little more now

Season Division	Position Cup Notes
2020 D2 1st SF League winners, promoted
2021 D1 5th 4th
2022 D1 7th SF
2023 D1 1st 4th League winners, promoted

Future - this is going to be quite a struggle as we'll be the only semi-pro team in the division.  However there's pretty good prize money for even finishing bottom so we'll see how we get on

A brief preview of 2024 - I had to sell Akkaya in the end because the chairman started to accept pretty poor offers over my head, but fortunately managed to renegotiate and he went to Roma for £275k + 40% sell on clause in the end.

Just checking my clauses tab and this has come up

clause.thumb.png.615fa73a32b2e736eec8b5c7460fa1b7.png

Cash in now or hold out for more?  If he was sold for more than £2.5m or more I'd get more money later but could do with it now....

Just also had a look at my U19 team's performance and this season after 13 games they've had 13 wins, scored 68(!) goals and conceded 8.

One of my 2024 intake strikers has scored 23 goals and the other 17

The 2024 intake is also very good clearly!

Tough decision mate. If you want to become Professional then this money is very welcome. But if he's gonna be sold for, let's say, €6m or so, then waiting is better. I once had the same with a very talented player. But nobody ever bought the kid, he left that club on a free transfer and I didn't receive anything... :(

Season 2031/32

NordBet Liga

finish 6th

Season Summary

Well, it was back to normal this season. Too good to go down, not good enough to trouble promotion. Only plus point was we're really close to beating Silkeborg IF.

A nice cup run took us to the 4th round and a home game against FC Kopenhagn. They hammered us, just to show how far we still have to go.

Youth

First youth pull with our newly upgraded facilities! The preview looked encouraging enough:-

32youthpreview.thumb.JPG.b915fb8def43e657742267a1b028d36c.JPG

and the final intake could have been worse. No real obvious standouts but I keep getting keepers poached so I'd expect to see Lukas Nielsen 32A in the first team soon enough

32youthintake.thumb.JPG.dd35ff22aa2f6a692e2a82b877ae9c5f.JPG

I decided to change tactics with 10 games left to try and fit Mazzolini 31B in, see how he does as he was setting the U19 league on fire. He went straight into our best ever XI at the end of the season after only 10 games!

Finances and Improvements

wow, going professional really bumps the wage bill right up. We lost about 600k over the season and there was nothing for improvements. I need to trim the squad a bit and be a bit ruthless while I do it.  I could do with a big sale or sell on clause but sadly we have none so far. Our biggest sale is still stuck at 66k and we don't really have anything worth much more.

Even more worrying, Heine is getting on a bit and I still have no decent strikers to replace him with. I need some huge luck with youth pulls in the next couple of seasons if I'm to make the next step up.

Port Talbot Town

Season 2021/22

Season Summary

My first season in the top flight was initially quite tough, results picked up in the second part of the season and I missed out on the title on goal difference and qualified for Euro II.

1156710001_PortTalbotPremLeagueTable.thumb.png.363714c6b9507e36519e667f3923e34f.png

Youth Intake

The intake was OK with a couple of players pretty close to the first team.

1214366576_PortTalbotTown_YouthCandidates.thumb.png.3500bce1c2844f68b66a8707357db614.png

I also had a 15 year old poached by Nottingham Forest - apparently I get a small sell on

Internationals

One of my youth intake from last season got called up to the Kosovo U21 squad.

1968802590_LuanKoi21M_Profile.thumb.png.da94a687d432b8d76e23c4c91ce8a46b.png

Finances

I ended up slightly in the red - it would have been worse if it hadn't been for my board selling my starting midfielder for £8k, this turned out to be the largest fee paid by a Welsh club that season.

Season 2024 (Season 5) Review - OBOS-ligaen - Norway

League | Squad | Transfers | Finances

This season were one of the hardest I've had in FM20 for a long time. I posted above, but we went 7 matches without scoring a single goal. A really tough patch, so naturally we couldn't follow up the great season last year. During that run we were down flirting with relegation, but once we got back into it we started to climb the table. While we were never in contention for the playoff spots, we still only finished slightly behind it. So I'm pretty happy all things considered. It's worth noting we conceded the same amount of goals this season as last, but we scored 12 less. That's a pretty major decrease, so I hope we can avoid that next season around.

In NM we beat Notodden, Eidsvold Turn and HamKam before losing to Brann in the 4th round.

Notable players

Anis Derbali 21a - Our best youth player and a really good defender. Also wins pretty much all duels in the air with his 20(!) jumping.

Youth intake

Youth preview - Promising, a good striker is always welcome.
Youth intake - Nice! Although the striker is not the best once, a good intake.

Haidar Khaled 24a - The young Iraqi fit into my tactic really good since I still use a right footed playmaker on the right.
Espen Engelsgaard 24b - I suppose this is the striker from the preview and he is decent, though very poor composure.
Nikolai Ferrer 24c - A promising goalkeeper, looks like a decent talent.

Yeah, the striker is ok, but not someone I think will light up the Norwegian leagues, but the Iraqi is promising and had a good season for us as well with 3 goals and 4 assists from 5 starts and a bunch of sub appearances.

so I was getting a bit bored of continual mid-table seasons so decided to experiment with instant result for this season. Every game, instant result.

I'm doing terribly and getting dragged into a relegation fight....

might go back to playing most games next season.

Season 2021/2022

What a great first season! We almost qualified for Europe, but in the Champions group (after 30 matches the league will split into a Champions group and a Relegation group) we lost almost every game. So the season was a bit too long for us. But it was a great campaign!

The youth intake was again nog spectaculair, but we got some nice talents. This was the preview:

NDFHdx4.png

And this the actual intake:

utxzu8w.png

Seweryn 22a  and Olczak 22b are the best talents from this intake. Both of them will get some playtime next season.

The best one from last year, Lipinski 21a, played 19 matches last season. He is developing into a good defender.

I couldn't upgrade our facilities this season. But I can't complain about our facilities:
YFe3Wv1.png

Then our finances. Thanks to some nice sponsordeals our finances are good:

Next season I hope we can qualify for Europe, so that's what I am aiming for. And hopefully a youth facility upgrade.

2067/68 Annecy FC season review - French Ligue 1

The League

With the players settled again, things were going really well. We were in a Champions League spot for most of the season. We even had an 8 point lead over 5th place with 5 games to go.

A poor end to the season saw us drop into a Europa spot in the final game.

We made the quarterfinal of the French Cup, and went out in extra time to Lyon, the new powerhouse of French football. They did the domestic double and only lost the Champions League on penalties.

The Players

Alain Sabatier YP60a is possibly the best player I've had in this save. He just broke the club league scoring record in a single season with 48 goals. The previous record was 38. He was one behind the overall scoring record for the season. But since we had no European football and he missed 3 league games and 2 cup games through injury, that record was definitely in danger.

He was the top scorer in France and Europe. Won the 2067 French player of the year, Ligue 1 player of the season, European player of the season and three player of the month awards.

Gilles Deschamps YP65a cemented his place as our new number 1 keeper and also got a couple of caps in the French national team at the age of 19.

Three of our club stalwarts are retiring in this off-season.

Steve Tossavi YP47a played 905 club games as our long time keeper. Although only 1 in his final season. He never got a full French cap, but played 4 U21 games and won an Olympic gold medal with the French U23 team.

Ahmet Cinar YP46a played 866 club games as our first choice right back for nearly two decades. He gained 127 international caps for Turkey. He won a European U21 championship with France before switching international allegiances to his country of birth.

Screve Makengo YP48a played 772 games and scored 167 goals for the club playing on either wing or in an attacking midfield role. He also achieved 2 caps for France.

Squad - League - Transfers - Facilities - FinancesIntake

Wierd season. WE have rought start with 4 points in 9 matches but after i change some tactic after 30 matches we managed to archive 9th place in League. Unlucky for us we tied in on match losing goal at 90+5 min match was +3... and droped us from champions  group before the split. Meantime we lost Hilicki 08e Legia activated hes 550k euro clause and in that simply way we lost our probably best player. My finance are backing on +. I archived 1 place bonus for playing your players in league so 700k went on my account. Adding to this money from Legia for our player and that I sold clause for on of my juniors that went to Totenham 5% we got another 500K so our bill for new facilities that are need to play in polish 1 league and ekstraklasa are gone. Ofc we managed to survive but after such season geting it in last match is disapointment. Intake in my opinion is really bad still no Forward and after losing Hilicki 08e im trying to make one of wingers to play there but IDK if with such forwards I will be able to survive next season....  Olejarka 11a another DL... Wyganowski 11b MC and Kapelusz 11c MR that is actually ok :D

Season 2032/33

NordicBet Liga

Finish 8th

Season Summary

A really poor start to the season saw us struggling to make the promotion phase which in the end we jsut missed out on. Once in the relegation phase however we were fantastic, only losing once and winning 8. It feels a little like a lost opportunity with how poor that first half of the season went

The Cup took us to round 4 and a narrow defeat against FC Midjaetland of the superliga

Players

Martin Sorensen 26B - The season where he really staked his claim as our best and most important player

Simon Heine - now almost 30, his powers are on the wane. I have nobnody in the reserves to replace him though!

Eric Mazzolini 31B - A fantastic season at AMC and he's still only 18! Sadly, with a year left on his contract he's decided he wants to move to a bigger club. I don't want to lose him but it looks as though he will be on his way. Only question is do i cash in now (for what would be a paltry sum) or keep him for another year and hope he comes round

Youth

I upgraded my HOYD for someone with a better personality and marginally better attributes and he did ok for us. Since upgrading we have been getting notably better youths through, as the increased poaching demonstrates. Bunch of vultures in the Danish SuperLiga.

Another golden generation was promised (!)

33youthpreview.thumb.JPG.ba020976bd0a5b2494ca86a43bc5b004.JPG

and to be honest, the final intake was actually pretty good. Max Pederson 33A is a ready made replacement for Mazzolini should he choose to leave and Kasper Wurtz is just the latest off our successful goalkeeper conveyer belt

33youthintake.thumb.JPG.c6bbaefc9208771ed2f25e0a4136703c.JPG

Finances and Improvements

Well, our two year experiment with professional status came to an end

33semiproff.thumb.JPG.328c4cba5b785bfa453c81493c2e9f51.JPG

I can't say I blame them if you check our finances either

33finances.thumb.JPG.1736cc0201b31085ecb6f4b072555c9d.JPG

So the challenge for the next couple of seasons is get our finances back on an even keel and try and keep as many of our players who are on full time contracts as possible. Professional status might have to wait unitl we make it to SuperLiga.

this is a tough challenge!

How do you guys feel about playing players out of position?

I've only had one central defender for the last decade (not a great one) and despite efforts to retrain others, he's usually partnered with a full back or midfielder in the centre of defence.

Also, the quality of our players reduces significantly outside the first 11 and maybe 2 or 3 subs. A lot of my youth get sent out on loan for more game time.

When I am missing a player in a position due to injury/suspension, I prefer to play an out of position contracted player rather than play a grey in that slot. My reasoning is that at least they are getting experience and it may help them improve.

I'm interested to see what others do in these situations.
