The Live Draw: The Managers

Live Draw time is almost upon us folks, so let me tell you how it will work.

Based on the order of signing up, every user has a number between 1 and 60. Two draws will be done, using a sequence generator here. The first draw will tell me what order the managers will be in. The second draw will tell me the club that they receive. Both draws will be done simultaneously by me and although you won’t see the numbers being drawn, you’ll see the end result as I update you as to who is with which club.

For, example, based on the list below, if the first number generator were to draw a sequence beginning ’17, 33, 19…’ and the second a sequence beginning ’34, 12, 58…’, Neji would have Racing, Neilio would have Middlesbrough and corinthiano would have Siena. I’ll reveal the draw in twos, and it could take anything from an hour to two (it’s a big draw!).

At the end, I’ll give a post listing all users and their clubs. For now, here is a list of the users and clubs that are available, and their numbers. Don’t think these are your clubs, they’re not!

I was planning on revealing what the ice cream flavours mean before doing the draw.

Edit: I think I'll stick with my original plan to have the draw tomorrow. Need to fill that last space, though!

When are you going to reveal what the flavours are about? :)

I'd actually like to point out to people, that getting one of the 'big teams' from my perspective doesn't seem like the best option if your goal is to win the competition. The expectations are going to be higher, which in theory makes your manager more liable to be sacked if you have a poor season. Obviously getting a relegation battling team isn't going to be a very good option either, but getting a team like Wigan, Fulham or Bolton and having 3 or 4 safe seasons and then hoping for an improvement is probably the 'safest long-term option'. Obviously getting one of the big teams is going to probably be the best in the short run, but in the second or third season when prominent teams start to pile on the pressure, one bad season could mean you get sacked. I'm hoping for Arsenal or Barcelona regardless though :D

I would like an average mid-table team, with low expectations and a decent amount of cash too spend. As Paul rightly pointed out, getting one of the big clubs may sound good - but actually may not be good because expectations will be high.

Looking forward to this :D:thup:

I would get Villa if that happened. I want a bigger profile team that them, no offence Villa fans :D

Villa are awful on FM. :thdn: Even though I support them, I would hate too be them. They always end up selling Gareth Barry to Man City for around £20m and then finish in the bottom half.

The Ice Creams

Before we commence the draw, let’s take a look at what the Ice Cream flavour choices mean.

60 people signed up, and there were 5 Ice Creams on offer, so it could be expected that each ice cream would have 12 fans.

Strawberry was the most popular ice cream, the favourite of 15 of our managers, including mikeytwigge.

The managers that picked Strawberry have these attributes at their disposal:

Person Data

Pressure and Professionalism will be set at 20. Ambition will be set at 1.

Tactical Attributes

Sitting Back and Depth will be set at 20. Attacking will be set at 1.

Non-Tactical Attributes

Coaching Goalkeepers and Judging Player Ability will be set at 20. Motivating and Working with Youngsters will be set at 1.

But why, canvey!!, why? Here’s why.

--

Mint Choc Chip was the second most popular ice cream, picked by only one less manager, 14, including yours truly. Let’s take a look at the advantages, and disadvantages, of picking Mint Choc Chip.

Person Data

Loyalty and Controversy will be set at 20. Temperament will be set at 1.

Tactical Attributes

Attacking and Sitting Back will be set at 20. Use of Subs will be set at 1.

Non-Tactical Attributes

Working with Youngsters and Buying Players will be set at 20. Level of Disciplineand Coaching Attacking will be set at 1.

But surely that’s barmy, canvey!!? Why on earth like that? Here’s why.

--

Chocolate fit the average billing of being the favourite ice cream of 12 managers, including Ridleys. Let’s see what the Chocolate lovers can enjoy during their managerial tenure.

Person Data

Sportsmanship and Adaptability will be set at 20. Determination will be set at 1.

Tactical Attributes

Tactical Knowledge and Flamboyancy will be set at 20. Sitting Back will be set at 1.

Non-Tactical Attributes

Attacking and Hardness of Training will be set at 20. Man Management and Coaching Defending will be set at 1.

canvey!!, you’re not making any sense! Why that? Here’s why.

--

Sadly for Vanilla fans their favourite ice cream fell just short of the average and 11 of our managers like Vanilla. Why don’t we take a look at what they’ll be able to work with?

Person Data

Ambition and Determination will be set at 20. Professionalism will be set at 1.

Tactical Attributes

Flamboyancy and Pressing will be set at 20. Tactical Knowledge will be set at 1.

Non-Tactical Attributes

Mind Games and Motivating will be set at 20. Coaching Tactical and Judging Player Potential will be set at 1.

canvey!!, as usual you’re talking nonsense. What made you pick these? Here’s why.

--

And finally, left back, just out of the starting gates, is coffee. However, Coffee did better than I expected with 8 managers selecting it as their favourite. Let’s see what their attributes will be.

Person Data

Ambition and Controversy will be set at 20. Loyalty will be set at 1.

Tactical Attributes

Attacking and Tempo will be set at 20. Sitting Back will be set at 1.

Non-Tactical Attributes

Buying Players and Coaching Attacking will be set at 20. Level of Discipline and Working with Youngsters will be set at 1.

Here’s why.

And finally, a look at how the attributes relate to different ice cream flavours.

I thought the exact same thing so, I want a lower mid-table team.

Strawberry - Ambition=1=Not Leaving Club

End of Story

would imagine there are extremes of ambition though. Having a 20 would mean you'd want to do as well as possible for yourself, and be as best you possibly can, having a 1 can't do you any good 'ambition-wise'. Un-ambitious managers are probably less likely to be optimistic and push their club to reach their potential, meaning they will probably not meet their own managerial potential and therefore their club wont either ;)
