However , with my original Oxford tactic in FM 08 I lost 3 games in a row without any apparent reason, but te tactic then started to win again all the way to the top. I prefer not to play the diamonds long term; it just makes me uncomfortable not dominating the midfield the way I like. So I switched to the 4231 as I was jumping into Ligue 1 and had a little money to spend. In my first few games, I would say it seems like the 4231 is a little less physically demanding, probably due to natural formational positioning, which is a bonus for me. I don't have great players but it certainly feels like something unusual is going on there. Haven't dug deep into the stats to see where the bad ratings are coming from yet. Praise when leading (if you're much better than your opponents, then only use when you're up by 2+ goals) and Demand more still works if you're losing (if you're worse than your opponents, preferably use it later in the game or when down by 2+ goals). I often check Knap topic that one day he will create some good 3 at back tactic but that is not his thing.
