gillsminnow
How mental are they? Happen like every 5 seconds too.
ACou2000
quite good, but too many are pointless
pouncer
I quite like them. Love how their skin wobbles when they run. They are human :)
Glenn Wakeford
Too many slow motion shots of people's reactions. I'd rather have slowmotion teccers.
Wasma
about as pointless as watching a barcelona or real madrid game and the camera focussing on their club presidents
Marquez
It would be crazy if we see a leg getting broken in that slow motion edit: don'T get me wrong, i dont want any legs getting broken, i'm just saying how sick it would be. in a bad way. like, disgusting
Rafalution
I quite like them. Love how their skin wobbles when they run. They are human :) Always looks like their bones are about to break anytime there is an impact
gunner4eva
I loved the one in France v Uruguay where there was a slow mo Lloris popping 2 balloons and there was one in the Portugal v Ivory Coast game of Barry wrapping tape around his ankle.
gillsminnow
Yeah the pointless ones are bizarre in a brilliant way. Wonder what the most bizarre one will be.
englandmanager
which game did they have a slow motion replay of someone popping balloons? now that was top quality tv..... not oh nvm missed gunner4evas post
Standard liege!
Some are pretty cool, but there are too many of them.
joe__the__man
And quite often they miss some of the action with them, but I don't mind them overall I guess. The slow-mo of Beckham's reaction to the Green mistake was funny
ham_aka_stam
I don't mind super slowmo when it's useful. But almost all of these are too zoomed in to be of any use whatsoever. It's like a sky HD advert.
crouchaldinho
I wouldn't mind quite so much but they are almost always close-ups as well and you can hardly see anything worthwhile. Also it seems more likely to be a slow motion close-up of a player or manager shouting something than anything of any real interest!
Ty
The ones of people headering the ball are absolutely hilarious Absolute mug shots.
TM
worst one was the other day when it had a slo-mo replay of some player (can't mind the team) putting his thumb up in about 5 different frames. Absolutely no idea why this is of interest to the watching world unless the cameraman likes thumbs or something
Paul Bacon
Clearly the TV companies have some new technology and want to show it off, despite it being pointless 9 out of 10 times
Rhino
Was a good one yesterday of Sorensen diving to save a shot. Bit of a camera save anyway, but the slow-mo showed the technique superbly. Not that I'll ever be saving a shot in that manner myself, so it's quite pointless/10.
craigcwwe
They are good bit some are pretty pointless
Venn
Heinze headers in slow motion are TERRIFYING!
Razzler
These super slow motion replays have been around a bit though, last few tournaments at least, lots of super slow mo of player puffing out their cheeks and stuff
swfcrule4eva
Kewells arm didnt half shake when it hit it.
Pangaea
I like them when they focus on incidents, such as the handball today by Kewell. But facial expressions and such is just stupid. Who cares.
Razzler
Kewells arm didnt half shake when it hit it. middle aged bat wings

bomma
There was one of a kid, with an eye closed, tongue out and pointing to to camera. Thanks for that.
Razzler
haha, I saw that, during the Aussie game, was like 'in your face'
cool dude
that black kid was hilarious
solsagooner
i love these super slow mo shots. the more random, the better. they don't take anything away from the game and, for me, are a welcome addition. just look away if you don't like them!
Pangaea
Would have to look away for half the game then.
Oypus
You know, I usually love these sorts of things. Slow motion of the ball spinning ridiculously. Slow motion saves. Slow motion fancy footwork. Slow motion dives, so I can laugh at the pathetic players even more. Even slow motion of the player's reactions to anything. But when they (ESPN) start putting slow motion of a bird that landed on the goal flying away, I'm out.
Razzler
that black kid was hilarious What was odd is it didn't just flash up and show us the pic it kind of lingered for a bit too long
cool dude
yeah haha, was so surreal
ham_aka_stam
I don't mind as long as it doesn't happen while there's football being played.
Razzler
well, that has been the problem, they've been ropey with that, you know play is going on but you're looking at someone with 'comedy' glasses instead
SirZ
Not been an issue at all.
Sned
Loved the slow mo montage of headers in the Slovakia v Paraguay game earlier, with Rocky style sweat flying everywhere.
