jackleel
I'm not interested talking about who become best player of Europe and the world at this game, every year ! why? Best player in europe since 2012 until 2016 World Golden Ball both not able to bring his club won in european champions league since 2013 untul 2016 Paloschi made fantastic achievements in season 2014/2015 with 51 goals in a season but did not get nominated for best player Continued...>>>

Gooner88
because Messi is one of the best players in history and has won it 3 times at the age of 24 so i feel its not unrealistic to say he will compete for it most years over the next 5-8 seasons

jackleel
if consideration of the skill atributes, messi or ronaldo deserves become best player every year, but if considered from a achievement of the club or his country, messi or ronaldo should not always be the best player.
nev147
I do not understand the replies here.... So people are saying because Messi and Ronaldo HAD superb seasons.... then they will continue to get the World player of the Year Awards.... because they played well seasons ago. And because of this as seen in the OP, players who have had better seasons are being overlooked not because they have had worse seasons (whem the player of the year is judged on) but because they have inferior attributes? That makes sense! Sound crazy to me.
DuncanJM
Yes but I can see the posters point, Messi has not been the best player over every season on the game. I had a season with Liverpool where Leandro Damiao scored 54 goals in 41 apps with an average rating of 8.23 but came third in the list behind messi (45 goals in 46 apps, 7.97) and Ronaldo (38 goals in 44 aps, 7.72). And in that season I won the league, champions league, fa cup, league cup, community shield and european super cup with Liverpool Is it built into the game that Messi and Ronaldo get a priority in this? nev147
Reputation must have something to do with it. Yes it must do, maybe even CA. Who knows but it is certainly biased for the 'world beaters' even if there are far better performing players. Needs looking at.

JamboSteven
This is very interesting! I don't understand how Messi could have won the Golden Ball if both of those players you have highlighted have scored more than him.

jackleel
Paloschi a lot of scoring goals but not good enough on the average ratings, why messi and ronaldo always make high average ratings ?? my assume because Madrid is Ronaldo and Barcelona is Messi. both are identical for his club and both of them is influential in his club, 10 other players who play with them becomes unimportant. This is enough to make them always nominated for best players uerope/world *joke*

jb10billion
Hypothetically, if Messi & another player get exactly the same stats for a season, Messi would win because his reputation is higher. Thats how I read it.
poola21
I think the game emulates the real life, where these 2 players take their share of the prize, only the media pumps up their ability and value, in my opinion a player who leads his team to a treble in a top country and reaches at least a final with his Nation is worthy of the prize ( Sneijder in 2010, he didn't get the trophy and had a far more better season than Messi and Ronaldo ) so Fifa likes posterboys, I am tired of Messi, Ronaldo, and Neymar, I wanna see some new talent rise
scott MUFC
if the game emulates real life, then a player who has dominated the top flight and europe would win regardless of name. next season will be interesting if wilfried keeps scoring 2+ goals a game lol

x42bn6
It's reputation. It's the reason why Kaká still gets nominated to these lists in reality, despite not doing anything of note. Personally, I don't think this "feature" (the Kaká "feature", that is) shouldn't really be in the game, and that the game should purely deal on a results basis. Situations like this are really bad: Yes but I can see the posters point, Messi has not been the best player over every season on the game. I had a season with Liverpool where Leandro Damiao scored 54 goals in 41 apps with an average rating of 8.23 but came third in the list behind messi (45 goals in 46 apps, 7.97) and Ronaldo (38 goals in 44 aps, 7.72). If your club did the quintuple, your best player - or players - should be frontrunners for the award. The world would be saying, "Messi-who?" in DuncanJM's world. deltablue
Messi's average ratings have been consistently over 8 in his screenshot, much more than the OP's players (as generally have the rest of the top 3). I know it's far from the only factor but it still means it's hardly a surprise. However there is a tendency even way in the newgen era for one or 2 players to dominate the award for a while, even if the simply happen to be the 2 most dominant players of the time, like Messi and Ronaldo now. silverboot81
I just checked from my old AC Milan save. Average rating isn't only factor. jackleel
nomination of the best players should be more than popularity of the player or how huge influence in the club or how often he was selected man of the match during a season I think the qualifications below will make more sense Contribution to the success of their nation Contribution to the success of their clubs If a forward player, the quantity and quality of their goal tallies for club and country If a midfield player, the command with which they controlled matches, along with their goal tallies If a defender, the ability to foil high-quality attacks and take charge of their half of the field If a goalkeeper, the impact of keeping their team in contention during big matches That's why I insist my players should be win the golden ball/best player uero award
