Was on the field for 20 minutes and didn't even touch the ball?????

Has our manager set focus passing down the right wing or something, as 20 minutes of not touching the ball is pretty rare.

Not that I'm complaining, all game-time is good and will hopefully attract a club to take me away from what is this hell I call playing at QLD Roar.

KUTGW Mate!

Ja-Makin’ Us Nervous Now, STI! | NTI Midifield Exposes Usless State of America

Jamaica v. Southern Treasure Islands.

Date: 12.06.2013

Competition: World Cup Quals (NAM), 3rd Phase

Venue: Greenfield Stadium, Greenfield

Previous Meeting: STI 1, Jamaica 0 (2011 Gold Cup Group A, 07.06.11)

Jamaica Form: LLLWD| World Ranking: 85th

STI Form: LDDDL| World Ranking: 81st

STI Line-up (4-4-2): Blackbeard; Castagnoli, Toscani, Cardiovascular, Hasek; Puckett, Smith, James II ©, Gingerbread Jnr; Dodgson, Crazy

Subs: Brookes, Stigarakis, van der Cook, Ogden, Kroeger Jnr., Smith, Whalley

Match Report: STI moved on from Mexico to Jamaica chasing an overdue win. The home side were on a high after victory over Honduras and a draw away to the U.S.A. and would be no pushovers. Both teams’ desire to wi was exemplified by some rough challenges early on, one of which resulted in an injury to Jamaica’s Doyley. That fired the home crowd up and they enjoyed a period of pressure after that which eventually yielded the first goal as Dane Richards out-jumped Castagnoli to head in a high ball. STI took up the attacking initiative after that and created several chances but J.D. Dodgson was in particularly poor form, the only thing consistent about his game being his inability to hit the target. As the clock ticked on in the second half, STI fans started to worry that a second defeat in two games was coming but their midfield maestro Tom Smith saved the day with just over 15 minutes left. A fine ball by James II opened up space on the left for Gingerbread Jnr, who crossed into the centre of the box. Smith had made a chage from midfield and was first to the ball with a powerful header to bring STI level. Tempers flared again as Jamaica had a man sent off with 10 minutes to go when he caught sub Kroeger Jnr. in the face with an elbow. STI couldn’t capitlise on their advantage though and had to settle for yet another draw.

Final Score: Jamaica 1, STI 1 | STI Player Ratings & Stats

Attendance: 24,989

Milestones: - Ondrej Hasek picked up his 30th cap for STI.

Northern Treasure Islands v. U.S.A.

Date: 12.06.2013

Competition: World Cup Quals (NAM), 3rd Phase

Venue: Capital City Stadium, capital City

Previous Meeting: U.S.A. 0, NTI 0 (World Cup Quals 1st Phase 2nd Round Leg 2, 14.06.08)

NTI Form: WDWDD | World Ranking: 101st

U.S.A. Form: WDLDD| World Ranking: 26th

NTI Line-up (4-4-2): Almond; Jonathan, Hamilton, Hawkini, Lazewski; Bojangles, Iglesias, Barkley, McBob Jnr. ©; Browne, Tobago

Subs: Harrow, Hurst, McNally, Barron, Hendrie, Gray, Webster

Match Report: NTI came into this game in good form and, although their opponents were ranked some 75 places above them, there was a sense that the win was there for the taking. This game was all about the battle in midfield and the ever-improving and ever-maturing NTI boys had the edge today. Iglesias and Bojangles were alert and quick on the wings and Barkely was bossing the middle of the park. McBob Jnr. has also taken the chance in the last few games to silence some of the doubters and showed himself more than capable of standing in for Juan Alaro Brown – Arsene Wenger take note. ;) The midfield crew created the only goal of the game. McBob won the ball in the cetre circle before paying it wide to Bojangles. Seeing no opening, the Blackburn winger played the ball back to Barkley in the centre. Barkley then showed great awareness to advance forward and spot the run of Iglesias. He picked him out with a lovely ball, which was controlled before being whipped into the box. Jack Browne reacted first, getting to the near post and poking the ball past Tim Howard. It was a goal the U.S.A. had no answer too. Try as they might, they just couldn’t get near the NTI penalty area with Barkley and McBob hustling in midfield and Jonathan and Lazewski giving no space to the wingers. The result delighted the home support as they reach the halfway stage unbeaten and well poised to book a place at Brazil 2014. The Americans, on the other hand, face the very real prospect of missing out next summer altogether.

Final Score: NTI 1, U.S.A. 0 | NTI Player Ratings & Stats

Man of the Match: Alex Barkley (7.3)

Attendance: 89,971

Milestones: - Jack Browne earned his 20th cap for NTI and scored his 10th international goal.

- Alex Barkley made his 20th appearance for NTI.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Other Result:

Mexico 4, Honduras 1 – At last! A good result for STI! :p

Table After 5 Games – at the halfway stage, Mexico look certain to take top spot and NTI look comfortable in 2nd. However, they have a rivals clash with STI to come as well as away trips to Mexico and the U.S.A. so they will have to be wary of any slip-ups. STI are still in the hunt for the last automatic qualifying spot (thanks to the poor form of Honduras and the U.S.A. so far) but they will have to get some wins on the table if they are to avoid elimination or a tricky play-off.

Treasure Islands Player of the Month, June 2013

The main focus was on internationals this month so it will be no surprise that our player of the month is chosen on the basis of those games. The June Player of the Month is:

Jack Browne!!!

Nation: NTI

Caps: 20 (10 goals)

Current Club: Torino (co-owned by A.C. Milan)

2 games, 2 goals and 4 points for NTI this month. May very well prove crucial on the Road to Brazil.

Also noted:

Hawkini (Tigres/NTI): The masked wonder played at the heart of the Tigres defence as they made the clasura final. Alas, he was on international duty for the two-legged final, perhaps a factor in Tigres' eventual defeat.

NTI are looking well placed in the group and confidence should be high. Particularly for J.A.B. who needs to make ammends after the last rivalry game. Just hope the manager gives him another chance although the spanish double should certainly help his cause. That said the defence is looking very solid without him although got a bit battered in the air against USA.

Whatever happens for J.A.B. though I'm predicting a big win for NTI and a clean sheet too. Role on the 14th!

DD, what's Kroeger Snr (the goalkeeping legend ) doing now mate?

He has been goalkeeping coach at Celtic for the past year. Funnily enough, he took that job after it was vactated by NTI goalkeeping legend Jack Harrow when he took a new job at Blackburn Rovers. :D

Finally starting to play some good football up in Brisbane. I know I'm contracted until 2016, But I'd thank that a move is not out of the question here, given I've been playing some good football of late and if I can cement a spot in the first team, hopefully clubs will notice.

Second in Spanish Young Player of the Year is quite the achievement, although it's a shame that the winner was an NTI'er. I seem to have developed into quite the player. Hopefully next season will prove more successful for myself and Barcelona. 32 caps and 6 goals for my country. Oh yeeeeeah!
