dafuge
History The club was established in 1991 by a merger of Wingate and Finchley.Although Finchley were the higher placed of the two clubs, the new club took Wingate's place in the Premier Division of the South Midlands League and played at Finchley's Summers Lane ground, which was renamed after Harry Abrahams, a long time Wingate supporter. In 1994–95 they finished second in the league and joined Division Three of the Isthmian League. After a second-place finish in 1998–99 they were promoted to Division Two, but were relegated back to Division Three at the end of the following season. After league reorganisation they were placed in Division One North for the 2002–03 season, but in 2004 were transferred to the Eastern Division of the Southern League. The club later returned to Division One North of the Isthmian League. In 2009–10 they finished third, qualifying for the promotion play-offs, in which they lost 3–2 to Enfield Town. The following season the club won the Isthmian League Cup and the London Senior Cup, and finished third again. After beating Harlow Town in the play-off semi-finals, they defeated Brentwood Town 3–2 after extra time in the final, earning promotion to the Premier Division. (from wikipedia) The story of the Harry Abrahams Stadium The highlight of this ground is clearly the unique grandstand: There aren't many clubs at this level that have something like that! This game will be played as part of dafuge's FM13 challenge, so the game has been set up with just the English leagues loaded and a large database with extra players loaded from all continents to bring the player total up to around 48000. My aim is simple, to do as well as possible, but hopefully as the game develops I will be able to add extra aims and challenges. Manager Profile A familiar face and a rather empty profile. Club Profile Not a lot going on at the moment, but that will change soon. General Info Being nicknamed the Blues is a great bonus for me as a Pompey fan. Facilities The stadium is great for this level, so hopefully it will allow us to improve the other facilities quickly. Finances Things look good at the moment, although I have a reputation of ruining that at this level. Squad With no backroom staff I have no idea how good this lot is, but I imagine I will be replacing them soon. I look forward to building my first squad. iacovone
Nice Dafuge - I played for Wingate reserves and youth team in my teenage years. If there's one man you should do it for though, it is Harvey Ackerman. Elderly benefactor (of non-league level) who has propped up the club probably for as long as it has been around. Lovely small club, a place I have fond memories of.
gogogo golem
Looking forward to more updates and I'm sure you're going to shoot up the leagues, I think you'll be in the prem in 6-8 seasons.

dafuge
Wingate & Finchley - Blue Square Bet South - 2013/14 With a tiny squad of mostly non contract players, I had the chance to build my own squad in the hope of making a good start with my new club. League Table League Positions Graph We had a shaky start, but as the squad settled we started to play some decent football and made our move towards the top of the table. We did make top spot once, but we just didn't have the consistency to hold on to our position. The playoffs drew us against Eastleigh, who led the league for most of the season but finished badly. Playoff semi final leg 1 - we were not playing well, so to steal a victory was a huge surprise. Sets us up really nicely for the home leg. Playoff semi final leg 2 - we were tired from the first leg but managed to grind out the result we needed. We will meet Hayes & Yeading in the final. Playoff final - it was a very close match until we scored our first goal, as they came out to attack we picked them off with a second to secure our promotion to the BSP. FA Trophy - I had no interest in this competition and rotated the squad, which didn't go too well. FA Cup - we were looking good until we met BSP York who were just too good for us. Squad - we've got a decent squad of young players who were all snapped up on free transfers. With wages being quite tight we are a bit pushed for depth though. Transfers - a huge overhaul to get a decent squad together. Hopefully the finances will allow me to make a few more improvements for next season. Finances - I stretched the wage budget to bring in a few players and because of this our finances have suffered badly. Key Player Profiles: Oliver Forsyth - top scorer, and really hit form in the second half of the season. Nathan Nyafli - his form came earlier in the season, but he formed a great strike partnership. Orlando Koster - probably our best player, but suffered a bad injury and struggled for fitness on his comeback. Charlie Losasso - signed in January and played a huge part in our move up the table. Jordan McCourt - had a superb season on the left wing. Career Overview Season League Position Achievements ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 2013/14 Blue Square Bet South 2nd Promoted via playoffs Next Season This season was superb but we have a lot of work to do next season. The finances are a bit of a worry, so we could really do with a big player sale or a cup run.

There was a little bit of TV money, but it isn't enough to even make a dent in my debt It's looking very much like I'll have almost the same squad for next season. I have a bit of budget left but I can't find anyone who could improve my team. True, but if you win the FA Trophy and have a decent FA Cup run and a big away game then you might be in the black the season after. The FA Trophy can be worth a lot because winning it brings in over £200,000 from TV and prize money to the trip to Wembley and big home crowds in the semi-finals. dafuge
Wingate & Finchley - Blue Square Bet Premier - 2014/15 Last season we surprised everyone by winning promotion through the playoffs, but our poor finances and tiny budgets meant this could be a difficult season. League Table League Positions Graph We really struggled. We were able to pick up the odd win every few games which kept us clear of relegation but we could never put a string of good results together to climb up the league table. FA Trophy - I took it a bit more seriously this season but we still make a quick exit. FA Cup - we were becoming the replay specialists, but Championship Bristol City was a step too far. Transfers - I had to bring in new players as the squad from last season wasn't good enough. Squad - with a number of players about to leave we might have a bit of trouble financing a decent sized squad next season. Finances - the cup run saved us here, although the increased wages could cause problems nest season. Key Player Profiles: Aiden O'Brien - the new signing was our top scorer. Kurtis March - another new signing who impressed. Orlando Koster - still one of our best players. Charlie Losasso - he's second choice now, but he's doing well. Jack Dovey - the new goalie made a huge difference. Career Overview Season League Position Achievements ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 2013/14 Blue Square Bet South 2nd Promoted via playoffs 2014/15 Blue Square Bet Premier 19th Next Season This season was tough, but at least we went some way to sorting our finances out. I haven't got the BETA so how would you rate it? got any tips? I'm currently bottom of the league, I'm not really in a position to give out tips The beta seems pretty good, the ME is new and takes a bit of getting used to but the game seems in great shape. dafuge
Wingate & Finchley - Blue Square Bet Premier - 2015/16 Last season we really struggled, but managed to stay clear of relegation. This season we were looking to move up the table. League Table League Positions Graph We were probably worse than last season as this time we spent a large amount of time at the foot of the table. A good run of form was just enough to keep us up and the win on the final day that secured our safety actually took us into a better position than last season. FA Trophy - another terrible season in this competition. FA Cup - once again we had a great run, beating L1 Swindon along the way. Southampton battered us, but it helped out our finances. Transfers - there were a couple of key signings, but most of them were cheap backup players to make sure we had a big enough squad. Squad - this squad looks good enough for this league, but we still need to improve it. Finances - the FA Cup run saved us here, we could easily have been in around £250k of debt without it. Key Player Profiles: Aiden O'Brien - top scorer, but not as impressive as last season. Alex Osborne - made a huge impact when covering for an injured player. Ryan Brobbel - he's contract expires soon, I really hope I can keep him. Kurtis March - another solid season. Nathan Nyafli - a great second striker to have. Career Overview Season League Position Achievements ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 2013/14 Blue Square Bet South 2nd Promoted via playoffs 2014/15 Blue Square Bet Premier 19th 2015/16 Blue Square Bet Premier 18th Next Season This was a poor season really, I was expecting to make a lot more progress after putting together a decent squad for this level. Next season looks like more of the same, I have to try and improve the squad within the tight budgets I'll have.
Big Marv
Ah, Aiden O'Brien, with his silly hair. Had him at my Brentford side in FM12, scored a load for me too. Ultimately became a scout (I think), at Swindon Town.
