Oh great, this discussion again. This never gets boring.

I'll say now what I said back when RvP released that horrific statement. It's not that he's leaving, it's the way that he's leaving. The way he has acted has been a disgrace.

Hopefully it sinks in this time.

I saw something earlier which said if South Korea win the bronze medal match tomorrow, the squad will be pardoned from military service. Not overly important for us as Park is likely to leave, but it makes him a more attractive option to potential buyers if he can play for more than 1 season.

For once, I agree. It isn't that fact that he wants to go, (see Henry, Cesc, Vieira, Overmars etc...) it's the way he's done it. That's why he's had the backlash from the fans that he's had. And the funniest thing of all, is now Juve and Citeh have dropped out and Manure don't want to pay the asking price, he's probably going to end up staying anyway.

You and your irrational love for Bendtner! Is it the underwear? :D

there's just something unique and magnificent about nick. so many people hate on him but he is a great player.

once RVP and Park are gone Bendtner ends up remarkably staying and then starts proving to the doubters he is in fact the king through some brilliant performances off the bench

He's his own worst enemy, if he had the right attitude we probably wouldn't have needed to sign Giroud as we'd have already had a guy able to score at least 15 a season. Only Bendtner could score a 10 on a self-confidence test that only goes up to 9. Also still annoyed at him for missing THAT chance against Barcelona that would've put us through.

Was at the Korea - Japan game today, and naturally, as a gooner, I supported Korea having an Arsenal player in their midst in Park, and he was brilliant. His goal was brilliant and he set up the second with a nice flick on. But his movement was great too, he got back when needed and did alot of running.

It's a shame he never got a real chance with us as he looks like he could be a great player on his day.

other than the game where he came on as a sub in the 80th or so minute against United did he actually play in a league game? i can't remember any others :D shame for him, wasted a season of his career.

it is kind of sad as NB52 could have been so much better right now if he hadn't had the impression he was messi. he can score goals though and if he stays i genuinely do believe he can play a good part for us, i will be so happy if he stays.

his career also may have been helped without some poor management by wenger, there's just something about bendtner as a winger that seems strange, didn't do his reputation any favours with fans. i'm annoyed at him for missing that chance as well but as he is one of my fave footballers i can forgive him, i understand if others can't. wonder how different his career could be if he had scored THAT goal though? :D

It was a difficult chance. I have nothing against for him for not scoring there, although it would have been nice if he'd at least got a shot away.

Playing him on the wing was a little odd but it gave us a useful tactical variation. He had the beating in the air of basically any fullback so it gave us the chance to counter with long diagonals. It never really worked that well but I could see what Wenger was trying.

Looking forward to tomorrows match.

I’m surprised that we haven’t played at least one more friendly since the Asia tour.

Its going to be a struggle to to integrate the new players and hit the ground running this season.

We were suppose to have a friendly in Nigeria, but that was canceled due to non-footballing reasons.

I'm surprised we didn't try to arrange something else. Perhaps there was something arranged behind closed doors, we just didn't know.

Cheers sy, might try to catch that then, now the Olympics are over :-(

I just hope the whole rvp rubbish is sorted soon. I'd rather him stay or go abroad, bu neither of those look at all possible. So it's either let him go man utd, or keep him and have a player not giving his all, and probably lose him for free to man utd next year anyway. Lose-lose for us but that's our fault for our poor recent contract renewals.

I just hope we bring in a few more faces to soften the blow

This is a myth.

RvP HAS to give his all if he stays. No one will want to sign a 30 year old injury prone players that's had an average season on the wages he is on.

Still stands though that he will likely go to one of our rivals now for a fee or next year for nothing.

If he stays and gets injured or just sulks and doesn't perform then no, he will not go to a rival next summer.

Well, he might but he certainly wouldn't get the sort of wages he can command now.

I think you're right; if he stays he has to perform if he wants a big deal next year.
