Neppo's FM10 - Youth Player Project

Youth Player Project - FM08's Illustrious Thread.

Youth Player Project - FM09's Illustrious Thread.

Every year we get a new batch of youth players, and the Ass Man singles out the best one of them. (I'm assuming they have the best P.A of the group.)

My aim is to take this player, give them some first team football, and track their career, be it at Real London, or should they move on. Each season I will add a new player to the reports, (naturally) and just think it could be fun, interesting and informative of what happens with them.

Thread Rules :

There are no real "rules" - as this is a supplementary challenge, and can be run along side many, or even ANY of the other challenges in the forum, but I will ask that participants provide as many screen shots as possible. Day 1 of the players career and end of season screenshots, with small reports are what I opt for, but you can provide as many, or few as you wish. There is no limit to this challenge, nor is there a finishing post. You may come and go as you wish, and do not have to follow my example with taking a player every season. Should you wish, you could take on the player every 2, 5, 10 or even 50 seasons if you choose.

The most important thing is that you're enjoying and are dedicated to the challenge. And that you have fun.

Of course, the mandatory house rules, still apply within this thread.

Seasons marked with a "*" indicate the player was only on loan for that season

If other wish to use this, or a similar method to denote which seasons the player spent away from the club for a season, be my guest.

Introduction :

Welcome, to the Hall of Fame. Here, you will find the greatest ever players to have come through the youth ranks of clubs worldwide. To be entered into the Hall of Fame is no easy feat. There is no specific criteria, but players will have broken milestone records, be it 500 club appearances, or 100 international caps.

Player Info - A good first year, playing in half the games of the entire MLS season. He's not a starter yet for the club, but I'm looking to groom him into a solid MLS right back.

I hope posting MLS youths is okay with you Nep...since they utilize the draft and not the youth team. If not, I'll just post my Indonesian youths once I finish the season.

Haven't got a Day 1 screenshot for him, but here is one regen I think has a future for me at Carshalton

Stuart Russell

At the tender age of 17, he holds dual English and Welsh nationality, being born in Carshalton, but has 3 U19 caps for Wales already. Definitely able to play right now in my BSP side, hopefully he becomes a long term fixture at the club, having come from my youth system and everything.

Is it ok to post FM09 updates in here, as i am carrying on with FC United? :)

Yeah :) Nep did it all the way through last year with Knockbreda as did a couple of others, can't see that being changed

I couldn't figure out an easy way to get rid of the background (for some reason it kept pasting with a black background) so either take it as it is, or edit it as you please.

You need to save it in Jpeg format, iirc.

Is it ok to post FM09 updates in here, as i am carrying on with FC United? :)

Yup.

I did it last year and it was fine.

WHS.

Is rancer trying to steal my players? ;)

Sorry dude. I'll change that now.

Planning on getting back to this for this year's game as I sorta got sidetracked last year, even though I had some good youth come through.

Hope you don't mind that I'm using a top 4 side in Arsenal, as it appears most of the people doing this are smaller clubs, but I am a lover of using the youth players

Will try to do this a bit with Arsenal in my long term save. Wont do it every season though as I find after a while it becomes very difficult as the players are of such varying quality, and I feel so attached to them that I favour them too much. Still playing first season though at the moment.

Flicked him over to left back this season, but started him on the bench. Now back in first team at left back. As a penalty taker, he is rather handy for me in League 2.

Nothing much come up since, so he is the only player atm I am doing this report on.

Yeah, everyone is the same, Grey. I'm going to be quite selective this time around. However, this could mean picking 2, maybe 3 players from 1 season :D

I think what I'm going to do is drop players from the project when it becomes apparent they aren't good enough any more. For example my YP1 is now dropped from my first team despite his 19 goals because I had a youth player through who's much better.

Ok, I am starting this again with a lower league club. Went on holiday and took over the first blue square north/south club that came available.

It happened to be AFC Telford, predicted 1st but languishing in 17th after 11 games.

Despite what my scouts say he actually has the best attributes for the tactic I want to try and play. He is likely to see quite a bit of first team action but I don't think he will make it after this season.

Solid season for Stuart, made left back his own now, and he scores some penalties, as well as providing a danger in corners by attacking the far post, so all is good:thup:

YP1 - Andy Denton(MC)

Initial Profile

Initial Report

Not a great selection from this season, but this guy looks like he has some potential. I will definitely be trying to use him and not waste him like I did for most of my players last year. It'll be hard for him to displace Cesc though, maybe he can make the other midfield position his own.

I like that guy hasd, he looks to have a lot of decent key attributes.

I agree. I don't like his technique, and his determination is also slightly on the low side for me, but hopefully some tutoring will help with that

Belgian Third Division A

YP1

Phillip Gillessen, 15, DM/MC.

An awful player with really low technical attributes. He's a player with a lot of determination and willing to work hard. But he's really bad with the ball to become a good player.

I'm going to give him a couple matches with the first team, and see if there is anyway to improve his skills

There I was, all set to get started on my FM10 Youth Project (Portuguese Edition), when I got this guy. :( The ass man said he was 'one of the better players to come through' - always a bad sign in my experience, as confirmed by the coach report. I don't think this guy will be good enough to even stay in the 2nd Division... That's what you get from minimal youth facilities I suppose. ;)

Smith hails from that footballing haven of East Grinstead, while Wright has emerged from the streets of Barking

I'm pretty slow playing though, so it might be a while before my next update
