Oslo City FC - Season 2023 (Season 3) Review - 4. Divisjon Oslo 2

Table | Squad | Transfers | Finances

We managed to build upon the improvement last season and end up winning the league. Even if we finished 5 points ahead of Gamle Oslo, we rarely felt we were in control of things. They pushed us for most of the season, and it was only towards the very end we pulled a bit away from them. So we are going up into the 4th tier next season, and I hope we can stay up.

We didn't compete in Norgemesterskapet this season.

Youth

A bit worse than last season, and everyone is just about equally poor.

Got to pick someone and this is the best, I think. Good mental attributes.

Season #120 - 2141/42

Really poor season

Started slow and never recovered

Odra Wodzisław - 2030/31

Squad - League - Finances - Transfers

Nothing to say dissapoiting season with first half with 9 points (only one win). After winter break I started to work with new tactic and we managed to stop on 20 points. Worth to note that in this season 30 points gived survival which was lowest value of points you need to gather to survive. At the end of last season we lost Mazur 07a for half of year after getting back he got straight away ofert from PSG 5ml +50%. Money from that 4ml was invested into next lvl of training fields wich will end to upgrade before start of next season. We got next "golden generation" but to be honest we lack of quality players. In next season I have to get new tactic and try develope some players on better lvl but dunno if I will able even with such fields :) Any tactics experts here? :D

There are a few more weeks until FM 22 will be available, so there would be enough time for a youth challenge. Chosen nation : Hungary,  for two reasons. First of all, Hungary has a low youth rating, so it produces a quite low number of very good young players. Secondly, clubs in this country offer high salaries compared to those in neighboring countries (Slovakia, Ukraine, Romania, Serbia, Croatia or Slovenia), so a fairly large number of mid-level players who were generated in these countries will come to play for a Hungarian club. This means a more difficult challenge because all of these countries  have a higher youth rating than Hungary. Of course, being selected only by the Hungarian leagues, the number of players generated in other countries will be small, but even so the Hungarian championship will "import" yearly at least 10-15 good foreign players, and this will create difficulties for any club that relies strictly on its own academy.

So, HungaryWhich club was I going to play with ? From those three available options, I chose the first one :

KqKQFuJ.jpg

The main reason for this choice : the name seemed interesting and even a little funny, because at first glance "III. Kerulet" looks like an email address. In fact, in Hungarian "III. Keruleti" means "District III", and the full name of the club (III. Keruleti TVE) means "District III Gymnastics and Fencing Association". In fact, Budapest (the city where the club is located) is divided into 27 districts, this club being founded in district 3.

Club facilities :

YHjC4Hg.jpg

The club's facilities level is surprisingly high. Only 4 other clubs in the 2nd league have better facilities, and facilities of 5 other clubs are similar to those owned by III. Kerulet. As a first impression, it seems that the next youth intakes will be promising.

Manager's qualifications and badges :

cjVB2sl.jpg

Squads :

lnyK3fq.jpg

Indeed, I have 21 players, but two of them (Czvitkovics and Rajczi) have announced their retirement at the end of the month, and the third (Bori) doesn't want to extend his contract. So, I'll have only 18 players for a competition involving 38 rounds (plus one or more Cup games)

Other details : club's reputation, media prediction, finances.

***************

I've already finished the first season :

Final table : 15th place. It could have been better.

BPQ7BOX.jpg

Transfers :

j7n854m.jpg

At the beginning of the season I lost 3 players (retired or released). Now I lost the 4th player (Remili). Next season I'll be forced to use many players received at youth intake regardless of whether or not they are really able to play for the first team. Towards the end of the current season there were some games in which I had only 2 players on the bench, the others being suspended or injured.

Squads :

NKVtbBj.jpg

I tried to use numbers to designate players received at youth intake, but those numbers bothered me. So, I chose another option : between every name and surname I introduced the letter "A" for all existing players at the beginning of the season and the letter "B" for all new players, those received at youth intake.

Other details : players' stats, results, finances.

Facilities have been improved a little (only "junior coaching", from adequate to average). As for my coaching qualifications ... there are no changes yet. The board did not accept my requests to go on a course.

The objective for next season ? Avoiding relegation or, at best, a position on the 9th - 12th places. I need at least 2-3 more years (and some really good youth intakes) to set out a more ambitious goal.

Season 4 - Volsungur FC

Competitions - the League Cup was tremendous this year, I am not sure why but something just clicked for us we did really well. We lost one game and that was enough to see us out, we lost out to the eventual group and overall winners. In the Cup we got knocked out in the first round by a team in our league. In the League we were tremendous and really looked good, we seemed to have enough to stay away from the relegation zone and never seemed in any danger of going down nor did we seem to be in any danger of troubling the top a solid mid table finish was more than I could have hoped for.

Finances - The chairman pumped nearly 200k in to help us out a bit

Transfers - Nothing going really, I think a couple of players will be leaving next year as they dont want to re sign I will miss them

Intake - A very good intake where we got some players not in spots of need but good players non the less. Jon Jonsson is really good, even if he did get sent off 13 minutes into his debut

Stars

Porsteinn Palmason - He really is a legend around here and is doing some fantastic stuff for us

Sigurdur Hinriksson -A superb defender who is doing great stuff with us

Samuel Mar Brigsson - He did very well again this year but I am not sure he is the answer as he seems to not be developing as well as I was hoping he would

@PaddersIt always seems like you have one of the worst defenses in the league.  Have you thought about playing a little tighter?  Turning a few losses into draws would help keep morale up and possibly stop the awful runs before they begin.

Yes actually have done that recently.

Gone to a 5-3-2 and positive mentality

I don't score anywhere near as many goals now

My top scorers used to be getting 40/50 a season.

You need a decent keeper to be successful in this challenge. Not really had one for a long time

Hi guys,

I couldn't see anywhere what the rules are about pre-agreed signings from before you arrive. Can you play them or do they have to sit in the reserves?

They must sit in the reserves or sold.  They can not play.

Season #122 - 2143/44

A decent season but yet again bottled it.

3-0 up on aggregate after 6 minutes in the second leg of the Play Offs Semi Final, then conceded 3 goals

Get to penalties and no surprise we lose 4-3

Season 5 - Volsungur FC

Competitions - the League Cup was again not very good as we went out early doors. Again the cup was not good as we went out at the earliest possible stage. In the League something strange happened. We won 11 games throughout the year with some huge wins over some very good teams. We also lost only 4 but out of those 4 games we lost 5-0 and 7-0 so it was a bit up and down but to finish 3rd is unreal and puts us into Europe for the first time in our history.

Finances - Not great even with cash being pumped in

Transfers - Lots of loans for players that need game time the last sale was a lad with lots of promise but he was moaning so I got some cash and a sell on fee if he leaves again.

Intake - Another good Intake with one or two players that will come in and help right away

Stars

Porsteinn Palmason - He keeps performing at a high level

Steinar Logi Asbjornsson -By far the best player at the club, he has one year left on his deal and does not want to re sign. I am trying to sell him to get some cash

Jon Jonsson - Kicked on really well this year, a really good young player that I want to keep if I can

Division 1A

Season 18 -  2038/39

Season Summary

Another season treading water, much the same as the last few. Club Brugge are still way ahead of us and evefyone else at the moment. This season they battered us 7-1. We still have a way to go

But we qualified for the Europa League again, which is nice

39leaguetable.JPG.3ce5daae0eed95d29f870f9a3a1dfa07.JPG39playofftable.JPG.f79a269f511f69df11e1f350f57a0c30.JPG

Europa League - We did really well in the group stage, qualifying for the first time ever. It was quite a tough group as well, with Monchengladbach, Rennes and Ludogrets. We came first and got straight into the second knockout round where we got RB Salzburg. We were right in the middle of a bad run, and lost both legs, which was a bit annoying

Players

Nikita Kozlov 36F - So this was interesting. part of the 2036 intake, he was originally a 2.5 (3.5 white) star prospect. But I needed the numbers in the youth squad and he was spirited, which I like, so I signed him anyway. Didn't expect anything, just left him there. First season I ignored him. Second season I moved him to the U21, again for numbers, and noticed his PA had increased. By the end of the season he had scored 79 in 34 games for the U21 and was a 4 star potential prospect. So I decided when the chance arose, I'd throw him in the first team, see how he'd do.

Coco got injured for the first game of the season, Kozlov got his chance, scored a hat trick. By the end of Spetember he had 15 goals from 10 starts. By October he made his debut for Belorussia, and scored a hattrick. By December he was a leading player for Div1A sides, by January I was rejecting 8m pound bids from Juventus. By the end of the season he was valued at 17m!

39niklay.JPG.b23dcac304e2e0f1a6f592932c9ee50e.JPG

a massive bonus I really didn't see or expect!

the best XI looked like this:-

39bestXI.JPG.6ff36d4176207f2bbfbb96fddb5c81fd.JPG

Mirco Coco 29C - had to move him out on the wing to accomodate Kozlov 36F and he did really well! I think his future is on the left wing

Stefano Sorrentino 33C - So Club Brugge mad a 20m offer for Kalenga 30H and the board gave me no choice but to accept. Sorrentino was his replacement and did ok, despite a really poor start. Long way to go to match his predecessor though

Youth

A really poor preview. But then Kozlov came through a really poor preview, so who knows?

39YOUTHINTAKE.JPG.e248c4f3285f1b213a7781c63648f258.JPG

I'll be surprised if any make it but after Kozlov anything is possible!

Finances and Upgrades

So in August Club Brugges came in for Paterne Kalenga 30H and made a 6m offer. I asked for 20m and 50% future fee and after  a while they accepted. The board rempved any choice from me and accepted on my behalf, but it was a good price so i wasn't too upset.

39kalengasold.JPG.0a7862c8589f544c98ea8d9f08d08e0f.JPG

He played 5 games for them all season! I may not see much of that extra money.....

But I made good use of the money:-

Xerez – Season 14 (2034/35)

Transfers: The season started with me losing my two best players, with the board selling Ricardo Masero 10c and Alberto Pedraza 10e over my head. I wouldn’t have minded letting Pedraza go, for decent money too, but the Masero one really hurt as he was a cut above all my other strikers - or so I thought…

spacer.png

La Liga 2 Despite these sales, we started very well, and soon were in a four-way race for the two automatic promotion slots with Rayo Vallecano, Extremadura and Mallorca. February saw us pick up some crucial results with a 3-2 away win at Mallorca, and a 3-3 away draw at Vallecano despite surrendering a 3-1 lead. Extremadura imploded in April, and even though Mallorca were hot on our tails, we kept our form up to seal promotion with 2 games to go! Even better, we took some revenge on Vallecano, beating Granada on the last day of the season to leapfrog them into first place, following Rayo being pegged back to a 3-3 draw of their own.

spacer.png

So a great season, many youngsters developing, and only one key player (Federico Diaz 11c, rated as decent La Liga player and wanted by many La Liga sides) refusing to sign a new contract which will soon expire, so I think we have a chance to avoid relegation next year.

Players: With the sale of Masero 10c, it was Juan Luis 09a who stepped up - his attributes are not nearly as good, but he scored an amazing 29 goals this season, so I’m definitely not complaining. Alonso 10a got the top average rating, and Juan Jose Nunez 12c looks to be the best all-round player emerging from the last several intakes.

Last but not least, in the youth watch series, I may finally have a half decent keeper in Karl Attard 12g. He had 5* PA from the start but absolutely terrible CA so I didn´t pay much attention to him, but he has been developing steadily, with his 2.5* CA putting him ahead of our other (terrible) keepers, and my coaches seeng plenty more room for improvement.

spacer.png spacer.png spacer.png spacer.png

Youth intake [preview]: Despite the promise of a golden generation, this looks to be our poorest intake for a while. I guess my full-backs are a bit of a weak area, so the addition of Berenguer 14a is welcome, and Marcelino 14c has good starting attributes for a young keeper, so you never know.

spacer.png spacer.png spacer.png

Facilities: With the player sales, I managed to upgrade training facilities twice and youth facilities once. Promotion to La Liga saw our board commit to building a new £27m stadium with the same boring name as the old one they have just built, maybe not the best use of money, but if we stay in La Liga it won’t matter too much.

Nuneaton Borough Season Review 2039/2040

Competitions

EFL Championship - 15th position - (messed up and only showing away record, oops)

FA Cup - lost in 4th round

Carabao Cup - lost in 4th round

This season was a lot more comfortable then the previous two in the Championship. We had really solid home form throughout the year, and judged only on that, we'd be nearer the playoffs. Our away form was equally consistent, but terrible, so that balanced out and we sat in the lower mid-table all season. It was a good opportunity to give a few youngsters a run in the first team and that has paid off, with a several options that will feature next season.

We were disappointing in the cups, but with a small squad, they were sacrificed.

Playing Squad

One surprise from this season was just how well Matthew Conlon has developed, he became first choice at the end of last season and I just stuck with him. Premier League teams are now interested in him, which is a nightmare. My best young talent is in danger of being pinched by Premier League teams and I continue to try and hold on for as long as possible before selling.

I am still yet to have a striker with great finishing and make do with a couple of options that have 8 and 10 for this respectively. Having a reliable goal scorer is going to be key in us moving up the league.

image.png.f7e48c4e482c2fe630a02f18a67e276e.png

Youth Intake

This intake is frustrating for the poor personalities alone, but Leigh Carpenter could be interesting, with how much many positions he's a natural at, he's versatile at least.

Nigel Lever (40a)

Leigh Carpenter (40b)

Finances, Facilities and Transfers

The stadium arrives next season and in the meantime, our youth level is now at '2' and we have a training facilities upgrade to move us beyond 'average'.

Competitions - A little bit of a historic season for us this year. We very nearly qualified for the next round of the League Cup missing out by only a point. In the Cup we were are usual awful team I am not sure why we seem to do so badly in this. In the EC2 it was our first ever time in Europe, our first game was against College Europe (Gibraltar) which we absolutely smashed over two legs 10-1. Next up was Lokomotiva (Croatia) we got a 3-2 loss away from home and a 2-1 win at home to go into the next round. Lokomotiv Plodiv (Bulgaria) next up for us a 3-1 loss away and a 3-3 draw at home was not enough to go through but it was a superb showing in Europe this year. In the League we were fantastic it was really a 2 horse battle between us and Bredibolik for the title it was close all year as we seemed to pinch points here and there and I think the European campaigns meant the games in hand were all over the show. In the end we managed to secure the title just.

Finances - Amazingly we actually went down to semi pro this year I was hoping it would not happen with European football

Transfers - I got rid of some players who I didnt think were good enough. Also Logi left, he would not sign a new deal and eventually left on a free. I managed to agree to sell him earlier to get a little cash. I really wanted a sell on fee but could not get one.

Intake - A decent intake we are getting some good options coming through

Stars

Porsteinn Palmason - He just keeps doing it every single year

Samuel Mar Birgisson -Not a bad player but is he quality is not as good as others but he still scores

Sigurdur Hinriksson - A pretty decent defender who did a lot this year

Season 7 - Volsungur FC

Competitions - For a change I will start of with the league our small squad struggled to cope a little bit with the amount of games and I think in the end that caught up with us a little bit. We did not have enough to keep the title but we came pretty close to it. In the end 2nd was a decent enough performance. In the League Cup we actually got out of the group and went all the way to the final, we just lost out in the final. We then played in the Charity Shield which we won. In the Cup we were fantastic and made it all the way to the final and eventually won. The real action was Europe in the first round we beat Sarajevo (Bosnia), next up was Sheknidja (Albania). This put us against Ludogarets (Bulgaria) who smashed us. This put us into the Europa League which we visited briefly to loose to Dynamo Kyiv (Ukraine). This eventually put us into the EC2.

Finances - Europe helped and we actually will be going back professional at the end of the year to

Transfers - Some players left, two more left on frees and they were two of our better players.

Intake - Nothing much but I am hoping with the new investment we may get some better players

Stars

Porsteinn Palmason - His contract has ran out but I am hoping he sticks around until we turn pro then I can sign him

Samuel Mar Birgisson -Seems to be getting better and better by the year

Sindri Por Jonsson - A very good defender who is performing very well this year for us

Season #125 - 2145/46

Started the season well

Didn't lose any of the first 12 games and was sitting top. Then this happened! 1 win in 10!

Managed to finish 6th, last play off spot

The bad luck continues

This time won the Semi Final on penalties

But lose the Final 1-0

Belgium

2039/40 - season 19

Division 1A

Season Summary

Our best season yet but almost derailed by our board sanctioning £54m worth of sales in January!

League - we started well and I got the feeling we were in for a good season when we went away to Club Brugge in our 5th game of the season and won 1-0. In the end we went 13 games before our first defeat and were leading the table right through until January. Then Brugge beat us at home, we lost and drew the next two, the vultures appeared and the board sold 2 of my bet defenders out from under me. The money was pretty good to be fair, but it was still annoying. We recovered well in the end although we lost top spot to Genk. Going into the championship play-off we were 1 point off the top and still had a great chance of the title. The first game saw us beat Brugge 3-1 to take top spot but in the end that was our only victory. two defeats to Genk and three draws meant we finished second.

40leaguetable.JPG.4c29960b6a84318b94b9e8eef5e0226e.JPG

40playofftabel.JPG.d72008fa247b3b569e31302196f663ed.JPG

Europa League - so we were a bit poor in the league stage in all honesty. We did manage to beat the favourites Atlanta twice though which meant we somehow finished top with only three victories. So, straight into the second round and straight out again, beaten again by RB Salzburg, even more than last season as well.

Cup - Finally a cup run! all the way to the final! Where we lost 2-1 to Anderlecht!!!

Players

So our best XI changed halfway through the season as 3 players got sold for £54m!

40bestXI.JPG.61b156f027752b3958e683fb13dddea4.JPG

Nikita Kozlov 36F - The star of the show again, with 33 goals in 37 games for the second successive season. But now he's 20, and there's no sign of him being a wonderkid. And his potential just dropped to 3.5 stars, so this might be as good as he gets. but it's still pretty good, and good enough to win European goldenboy!

40goldenboy.JPG.9fa09611745b53d32665396f0a297046.JPG

Wonderkids

So, 19 seasons in and only the three wonderkids to show for it still

Jef Leemans 30A is now 25, playing for Arsenal, valued at £79m and with 54 goals in 85 games for Belgium

Hubert Lefevew 29A is at Sporting, and doing ok.

Maroune Abbes 30D is still with us! still first choice Belgium keeper! 72 caps at only 25 years old!

I really want more wonderkids.....

Youth

so was this the year I got meself a new wonderkid? well, looking at the preview, probably not...

40youthintake.JPG.755d3e2c9afce93d048085b358527e7e.JPG

Finances and Upgrades

I put that £54m to good use!

40trainingimprove.JPG.21d8fd2d6b11574015f2bb0f8140a5a8.JPG40youthfacilitiesimpriove.JPG.6e2ae4cf873fb89b3407ceddb09f4ca2.JPG

So come the new season the youth facilities should be maxxed out. which is nice

So I've finally decided to continue this save for what will be my last season at Siena before FM 22 comes out. My main hope is that I can win a chance to get into the Champions League next season through either my league performances or winning the Europa League. My hope is that while we can't complete the challenge before FM 22 is that we can at least win one more trophy to add to our Lega Pro Girone B that we won almost 20 years ago now.

1911354780_St.Gallenlinkterminated.png.1a6df5bf74f34365547d4614aff49734.png1911033216_VejleBKlinkterminated.png.0a4a36327e6ad11ed641069241862df7.png

The board did terminate two of our links at the beginning of the season, but I did manage to convince them to sign another club on instead.

1395561083_PartnershipwithKalmarFFconfirmed.png.b7d1c3972d681f432ef451d7df949625.png

We are now linked with Kalmar FF, with hope that we get some really good Swedes coming through our youth intakes going forward. If it doesn't happen, then it doesn't hurt us. It also means that can do the challenge in Sweden in the future as per the rules I've put under myself for FM 22. It's a nice addition.

Season 8 - Volsungur FC

Competitions - The League Cup and also normal cup were not ideal as we went out fairly early. I think we should have really pushed a little bit harder in these but I rested some players and I think it showed by the end of the competition. In the League we were really good and did very well to push up towards the top of the table but the Champions were just unreal this year, they did not loose many, infact only a loss to us in the closing stages of the league made it anywhere near close. In Europe it was always going to be a struggle to get into the groups as we started in the EC2. First up was Dinamo Tiblisi (Georgia) who we beat 8-3 over two legs. Olimpia Donesk (Ukraine) next up and a 3-1 win was enough. Braga (Portugal) was the end for us as we lost 5-1.

Finances - Not bad but European Football is needed now I think

Transfers - Players left on loan that get some game time, another couple of players left for money as contracts were ending

Intake - On ok intake on the whole

Stars

Porsteinn Palmason - I managed to keep him but I think this maybe his last season as the number 1

Samuel Mar Birgisson -Another superb scoring season from the main man

Sindri Por Jonsson - Another superb from a very underrated player

Other details :

Media prediction, finances, facilities ( for the time being they are the same as last season, but a youth facilities improvement has already been accepted), manager (no changes, I tried three times but my request to take the coaching course for the national C license was not accepted). One more thing: we have a new HOYD. And he's really good, maybe the best HOYD in the entire 2nd league.

Results, player's stats. And a short review : it's a very difficult time for the team. I can't keep all important players I need and young players don't have needed skills or experience to play at a high level. This year’s intake was much better than last year’s, but it's clear : a 15-16 years old player can hardly cope with more experienced opponents.

Dear Colleagues!

As a kind of FM veteran (started playing the series with CM3) finally after five years of absence I return for this great game - I have a big boy now so hopefully I will have more time to spare for this hobby. I decided to purchase FM21 as it contains enough new features for me compared to FM16 and I toy an idea for this challenge, already tried before once but now I want to give a proper shoot for it. I have two question:

1. Is it allowed to post career update in the next thread dedicated to FM22 indicating that I play with FM21?

2. Is it allowed to use cosmetic changes, including change the color of the selected club - other changes would be using real name fix from sortitoutsi community?

Thank you and have a good luck on the football fields!

Welcome back and on board this challenge! :)

1. We usually allow it and especially if it's only a minority who uses it, but it would be good if you tag your posts with FM21 or whatever version it is, if nothing else to make sure poor @darren1983 gets it right in the HoF if you finish it! :)

2. That would usually not matter much, but if you use an edited database at all, then make sure to let us know as well, in case there is any question about the validity of the challenge. Not that we police it much, it's based on a trust of not save scumming, IGEs, etc, but edited databases can also contain things that let's the user complete it easier than they should. So we like to mark whoever finish it with an asterix if they've not used the vanilla game.

CSA Steaua Buceresti

Season 10 – Casa Liga I

Table1 -- Table2 -- Transfers -- Squad

League

A disappointing loss on the opening day followed by 5 straight clean sheet wins started what was a good season for us. We largely maintained the momentum we generated following opening day defeat, but didn’t quite manage to top the regular season in spite us reaching the previous highest tally of 70 points as FCSB managed 71.

The Champions Playoff however, went much the same as the regular season for us, in that we won most of our games, but alas, so did FCSB except, crucially their game against us which put us in pole position for the title, only needing to win one of our last 2 games of the season. Alas, we drew one and lost one leaving our fate in FCSBs hands. Thankfully they only managed a draw against the team bottom of the championship group in their last game, and we won the league!

Cups

We entered the cup the holders, hopeful of another triumph, unfortunately, we lost in our second match, albeit against fellow top flight opposition, a little disappointing, but it was a tough game nonetheless.

We comfortably managed to get into the Europa League main draw following a 11-0 aggregate victory, however, we struggled from there on. We lost each of our opening round of fixtures, including against a Slavia Prague side we’d beaten in the latter stages of Euro II the season prior. The second half didn’t get much better, although had we not thrown away a two goal lead against Leeds in the last 10 minutes we’d have qualified for the Euro Conference Knockouts at least.

Squad

Stefan Ghita 6 became our first choice on the left wing last season, and this season he did really well, 7 goals and 16 assists is a very good return, my only issue is that I do have a young left winger who is vying for his spot so he may soon lose out on the position, but if he keeps up his numbers who am I to replace him.

image.png.3d297304e2035f85e5992644da69520d.png

Danut Marina 7 also had his best season in goal for us this year, 14 clean sheets and only 38 conceded in the league (12 better than his previous low) was a huge contributor to our league win.

image.png.71d277c4954f6b22045e9260a36c96eb.png

As we’ve now won the league, I’m going to be much more willing to replace long some players with prospects who have better potential to try and help them realise it, namely in central defense.

Youth

1220088357_30-31Preview.PNG.98eb617a4b668f624fe157bb848fbf80.PNG

Despite a fairly promising preview, what we got in the end was not fantastic all told, a couple of ok prospects, but nothing crazy. Hopefully we’ll get an increase in reputation following our league win which will in turn lead to overall better prospects.

113593945_30-31Intake.thumb.png.6609f044897422bc992bd7b6eb673d1b.png

General Overview

A few upgrads training facilities happened this year, and hopefully this summer the youth facilities can follow. Esepcially given how long it’s taken me to finish this season, it is unlikely that I’ll be able to finish this before FM22 is out, but next season is our debut in the Champions League so hopefully we don’t embarrass ourselves too much. The aim for the league is simply to qualify for the champions league again (which requires top 2).

Oslo City FC - Season 2024 (Season 4) Review - Tipping-ligaen avdeling 3

Table | Squad | Transfers | Finances

I was afraid we might go down again, but we had no problems staying up this season. Seems like the difference is not that big between the tiers and we ended on a very good 4th place. Going into next season, I'm only hoping to do the same as this one. Perhaps make a bit of money.

In Norgemesterskapet we beat Stokke before we lost to Greåker in the preliminary final.

Youth

A lot of meh.

Season 9 - Volsungur FC

Competitions - The League Cup was the start of the season for us, we started off in decent enough fashion with two wins but we did not have enough to carry this through and once again saw us out of the group stage. In the Cup we rested a lit of players and went out at the first chance. In the League it was really a two way battle with us and we seemed to take points off each other and then seemed to beat most of the other teams in the league. In the end they dropped points with a few games left and we didnt and that was enough to give us our second title. In Europe it was the EC2 again for us. We beat Iskra (Montenegro) first up before getting the better of FC Lahti (Estonia). This set us up against KCC Genk (Belgium) and somehow we managed to sneak past on away goals. OB (Denmark) was next and once again away goals saw us through. In the Group Stage we face St Gallen (Switzerland), Rosenbourg (Norway) and SJK (Finland) I dont expect we will go through but a few results may come our way.

Finances - Once again Europe really helps

Transfers - Guys going out on loan and players who maybe will not make the grade any more

Intake - Another decent intake with players we can use

Stars

Atil Por Kristjansson - He has been tremendous this year

Samuel Mar Birgisson -A fantastic season from one of the players who have been here longest

Sindri Por Jonsson - Still one of the more consistent players at the club

Season 10 - Volsungur FC

Competitions - The Cups were good as we got to a final and also a semi final, despite not winning them it was good to get a bit of a run this year. In Europe we did really well, beating some decent teams like Qarabag and Astana to reach the Champions League Playoff, we got beat by Shakhtar that put us into the Europa League Group stage, we stood no chance in that but we did well to get that far. In the League we were an absolute joke as we just could not get things together. We brought a lot of the new  players into the first team and let some of the old guard go. We will really need to improve on this next year.

Finances - A decent result as we have a couple of more upgrades going on

Transfers - A lot of faces left on loan or for cash, it was time to move on from some of the players

Intake - We had another decent intake, not ideal but it was decent

Stars

Daniel Sveinsson - New keeper who became the starter this year and did a good job

Fjolnir Porhallsson -A very good right back who supplied a lot of assists this year for us

Aron Gauti Gunnarsson - Absolute beast of a Defender who has done well this year

Belgium

Division 1A

2040/41 - Season 20

Season Summary

At one point it threatened to becaome a disaster of a season but in the end it was pretty good!

League - we started off well enough, with 5 straight wins and an unchanged side. But once fatigue, injuries and suspensions hit we really struggled. October and November were really grim - we didn't win a single game in any competition - and I was starting to write the whole season off. But 3 straight wins in December lifted our spirits and we performed pretty well for the rest of the season.

It was a close run thing but we just managed to qualify for the championship group, which was amazing given our autumn form

41leaguetable.JPG.0e28f6489813d6a7402f0b09dfce6673.JPG41startofchampgroup.JPG.8bb455ce3453a0ae1da21f86aa4a38be.JPG

So we started the championship group as underdogs, a huge 6 points behind Genk in first place. Our first game saw us beat Anderlecht at home to jump up to 3rd. We then drew with Brugge and were looking quite strong. But then two defeats to Genk were followed by defeats away to Anderlecht and Brugge and we finished bottom. But still qualified for the Champions League due to Belgiums positive co-efficient. Which is nice.

41playoffleague.JPG.3a0d6ad3737799df262715b91d61ba33.JPG

Champions League - we were in a group with Arsenal, Real Madrid and Monchengladbach. To stand any chance we had to get results against Monchengladbach and they were up forst, at home. They beat us easily 3-1. The next game saw us lose 4-0 to Arsenal and I realised we were out of our depth. But although we lost 4-0 to Real Madrid we also managed to get draws against each team, so although we finished bottom we weren't totally outclassed in the end. But still a long way to go i think.

Players

The best XI this season picked themselves to be honest:-

41bestXI.JPG.c19924c6f18e6f8cf64dff74d5ac2746.JPG

Nikita Kozlov 36F - Disapointingly not a wonderkid and his performances weren't quite as good as the previous two seasons. But he still hit 30 goals and he's still a good player for our level. I'm not sure he'll win us the champions league but he'll do for now

Mirco Coco 29C - now our best left winger and still performing pretty well most games. But for some reason his value plummetted during this season. He was valued at 650k at one stage! I wouldn't mind but his counterpart on the right wing never wavered from 8.25m and was mostly rubbish!

Jef Leemans 29E - over 20 caps for Belgium now, 2029 really was a golden generation for us

Youth

So, we were now a chapions league club, our youth facilities were maxxed out, I wasreally looking forward to this years youth preview. And it was ok, but no promise of a godlen generation sadly.

41youthpreview.JPG.a91acaa05580bb3bf0bd61d49c1d8ee2.JPG

Not to worry, becaue the intake was our best one since 2030!

41youthintake.JPG.f6d6ab03314e7c3dd3cdfbc0de51234a.JPG

4 four star prospects, incuding a really good looking Brazilian! he looks the best prospect I've seen in a long time, maybe even since the legend that is Jef Leemans 30A!

Season 11 - Volsungur FC

Competitions - So firstly Europe. We ended up in the Europa League Group with Athletico Bilboa, APOEL and Olympiakos. We got 4 points off APOEL and that was enough for us to finish 3rd and go into the EC2. In the EC2 we were in the First KO round and we faced Kobenhavn where we lost 3-2. That put us out. In the next year we beat Qabala (Azeribajan), Streda (Slovakia) and Tiblisi (Georgia) to get into the Group Stage where we had Ferencavorsi (Hungary), Arsenal Tula (Russia) and Red Star (Serbia). In the League Cup we went out at the Group Stage again. In the Cup we were much better and even managed to win the thing, it was amazing. In the League we were the best side for most of the season and spent most of the year in top spot. We ended there and recorded our 3rd title.

Finances - Europe is really keeping us alive

Transfers - Players who are not going to make it left and some of the lads went on loan for game time

Intake - A very good intake where Paterkur Haflidi Skarphedinsson is the absolute pick of them, one of the best players already

Stars

Atil Por Kristjansson - A very decent striker who has scored a lot of goals for us this year
