Congrats on the title @XaW, Hammond has great mentals and physicals and looks like a decent little player for that level. Unfortunately I don't think we can offer contracts until we get to the top tier, as I've not been able to after having spent 3 seasons in the 2nd tier.

Thanks! Yeah, I think he is really good in my tactic as well, so I hope he can keep up. And, yes, I've just about started the new season, and still no new contract options. I've managed to keep all the players I'd like to keep though, even with non-contracts.

Regarding cups, it seems I'm not competing in the Intermediate Cup this season, but I can still see the rest here, so I guess that's the only changes to the cups.

Season Summary 2029 - 2030

Back-to-back Bundesliga titles

A good season that saw us win our second Bundesliga title in a row. We started the season really well and we together with Borussia Dortmund we got a good gap to the rest of the teams. At one point we established a 8 point lead, but from mid-February our form took a dreadful turn. In 9 league games we only won two, and we were lucky that Dortmund also had a slip of form. This gave Bayern the opportunity to close the gap, but with two wins at the end of the season we managed to secure the title. If we start our next campaign like we finished this season we are in big trouble, so hopefully this was an isolated run of bad form! I promoted Maik Siemund to the first team this year and what a season he had! 16 goals and 9 assists from the right wing, he was our best player by far this season!

We drew Manchester City, PSV Eindhoven and Slavia Praha in the Champions League. As expected we went through as runner up in the group, beating PSV 0-3 away in the final group match. We drew Real Madrid in the first knockout stage and I expected an early knockout. We then managed to perform what was our best performance of the season in the first leg, beating Real Madrid 3-0 at home! A 3-1 loss in Madrid saw us go through. This gave me great hope, but our optimisim was quickly diminished on the next leg when Man City beat us 4-2 on aggregate. We probably should have lost with 4-5 more goals.

We have a lot of work to do in the Champions League!

Donegal Celtic F.C. - Wikipedia

Donegal Celtic

Season 2026/27 Review – Belfast Telegraph Championship – Northern Ireland

League (1st)SquadTransfersFinances

Top Goalscorer – Aled Smith YP5I (24)

Top Average Rating – Aled Smith YP5I (7.50)

Most Assists – Aled Smith YP5I (10)

After 4 seasons in the second tier and two failed playoff attempts, we finally get promoted by winning the league comfortably. What a season it was, although it started badly with the loss of Chris McBride YP4H to Ballymena amongst other first team players to leave the club in pre-season. We went top of the league after 7 games and stayed there all season and won the league with 3 games to spare.

Aled Smith YP5I stepped into the limelight this year and pretty much single handedly won us the league with the most goals and assists to his name, his form also earned him a call-up to the Wales U21 squad. The emergence of Ryan Norton YP5M up front alongside Aled was also a huge benefit to our attack. A strong defence which was led by Andrew Hoy YP1G and Gavin Mitchell YP1C also contributed and it was a comfortable end to the season as we finished top by 13 points.

Due to achieving promotion into the premiership we can now offer part time contracts which will help me to retain our key players and will guarantee me to receive some compensation if they end up leaving. The key goal for next season is to stay up but if Aled Smith YP5I keeps up his form, we should do that comfortably.

The Youth Intake had lots of promise but unfortunately no guaranteed starters for next season, I am hoping for a big transfer windfall or European qualification to enable us to get enough money in the bank to afford a facilities upgrade so we can actually improve our youngsters more effectively.

Youth Intake

Kyle McDermott YP7I – The best player from this year’s intake, he will be backup in the striker department and will probably get game time in the cup games.

It was a tough slog of a season in my second year at the club. We had sooooooooo many draws this year and, as I feared, we found goals hard to come by after allowing my three strikers to leave in the summer. Things were that bad that until Christmas central defender Alpar Birtalan was the top scorer at the club with 4 goals.

To look at things with a glass half full mentality though we were a tough team to break down and we only lost to top 8 sides with the exception of Metaloglobus. We really did struggle to score though but a striker did step up to claim top scorer at the club for the season and that was third choice Mădălin Voicu. He spent the first half of the season warming the bench but then an injury to first choice striker Florin Morar meant he got a run and he then became Morar's foil up top.

My central defenders were stars this year. The aforementioned Birtalan along with Roberto Hasnaş and Cristian Minta were solid and got decent avergae points for the season.

Marius Lazar on the right wing was also a big player for me this year and I would give you his profile but my Imgur won't seem to load at the moment as I'm halfway through typing up this report. There are a few teams sniffing around him but I'm hopeful of keeping him here for another year at least.

There's around 6/7 talents in the intake who can come into the team already so I'm very pleased with that and looking forward to next year. Hopefully we can kick on a bit and climb up the league.

2039/40 (season 20)

Premier League

finish: 5th

Season Summary

Another good season for us but we just can't make that final push to get into the top 4. It's a combination of lack of consistency and lack of quality in key areas of the team, particualrly in defence. We spent the whole season in and around 5th/6th, winning when it looked ike we might drop, losing when we might have moved up.

The Europa League was fun. We went through our group stage unbeaten, although we drew more than we won, and then breezed past Lazio to get to the quarter finals. We lost 2-1 away at Sevilla but I felt the away goal was gold dust. In the return leg this happened...

40bloodysevilla.JPG.8ce9c741fe41e0a55d15265e04fb0104.JPG

90+3!!! I couldn't believe it. So although our first European jaunt was fun it ended on a disappointing note.

FA Cup was terrible again losing to Spurs in the 5th round. Not sure why we even bother with it!

Players

Kota Kotawano - 17 goals in 22 league games, making the difference for us, when Barcelona came calling in January. I tried to be clever with them but they called my bluff with the 99m release clause. So Kota is gone..... But what a legacy!!!!

40katowano2.JPG.238e0a899bf439f7385aa0e3152d6271.JPG     40katawano.JPG.c551d22f2152554888e06307347f43f7.JPG

Heiko Petrick 36A - A really nice surprise this one. He was our best youth pull from 2036 but only had 3.5 stars potential. Our keeper at the time had been with us since the National League and although he wasn't bad he was struggling a little with the step up to the Premier League so last summer, when a nice bid came in, I let him go, giving Heiko a chance. He was amazing, made his debut for the German national team and ended the season a 4 star potential Wonderkid!

Deon Jackman 34A - I feel a little bad for Deon, always in the shadow of Juddy and Kota as our third best striker but he really is very good in his own right. Another good season from him, up to 60m value now and looking more and more important for us with every passing season. Next season, with Kota gone, will be key for him.

Youth

A really nice preview, promising me gold and riches beyond my wildest dreams...

40youthpreview.JPG.aeaf71780a7bda6f119b821eefc3f625.JPG

Particularly the promise of a nice shiny new Spanish striker! and when it came, it didn't disappoint

40youthintake.JPG.2829fca1426980ed0912c05cf5d62f8d.JPG

Fernandez looks half decent as well, i have high hopes for the lad. Very nice facial hair for a 17 year old as well, hopefully bodes well

Finances and Improvements

We got loads of cash so I suggested a new stadium which the board agreed to. I envisioned a lovely new 50k stadium, maybe named after one of the club legends, maybe who'd overseen FC Uniteds meteoric rise through the leagues. And, well, the board sort of agreed...

40newstadium.JPG.23678cea82ce50cad9351e7ab7d95a98.JPG

well, 25k is only 5k more than I have now and i suppose Karl Marginson is a club legend and did oversee some importnat promotions but.......well.......

After a very bad start , we could finish very high , taking a playoff place. In those playoffs we had to compete against Airdrie, a team we rarely or never could win. at home it was 0 0 , on Airdrie we were 0 2 ahead and I thought we would proceed ... until they scored 2 2 in the 90th minute . I thought that away goals counted but apparently not... after extra time we eventually lost :(

It's all the more painful when you know that we've made it to the quarterfinals of the cup. There we had to go against Alloa . After a 2 2 at home it was replay time away at Alloa. We were 0 2 ahead . After an equalizer in the 93rd minute it was time for ..extra time. eventually penalties . In that we forgot to finish it twice and in the end we lost. Semifinal would have been against Celtic at Hampden park (60000 people for Celtic Alloa), this could have made us financially healthy again.

Player of the season

Image preview is to big so i'm going to post it with a screenshot. Ze Doumbia 26B was our best player , and is wanted by all the premiership teams except Rangers and Celtic.

Young player of the season

Lagourde 27D was our best young player and was our starting striker, he directed Mclaughlin to the bench.

Not that great ?

Class 2030

Signed 8 . Not great set of personalties and players. This isn't the best class.

Below the best three:

Ouri-Bodi 30A : Our best player from this intake, could become a good winger.

Kouassi 30B : A future option as a adv. playmaker.

Rocha 30C : to short and wrong personality.

Next season

Normally everyone stays. I just don't know yet if I will add another eleventh season. It's starting to run out of steam. But I still have my doubts after these special games (quarterfinals cup and playoffs).

Season 2025/26 (Season 4) Review - Belfast Telegraph Championship - Northern Ireland

League | Squad | Transfers | Finances

It doesn't seems like the difference between the 3rd and 2nd tier is very big, because we were very often the best team in matches this season. And a lot of the youngsters have improved a bit, so we had a good season. While Ards were the best team by some distance this season, we were in contention for the 2nd place all season. Loughgall and Dundela were our main competitors, but in the end we finished 2nd. So we went into a playoff against Loughgall, and unfortunately we lost 1-2 at home and could only manage a 0-0 draw away. So very close to a promotion this season, but no cigar.

Cups

In the Irish Cup we beat Loughgall, Armagh City, Linfield and Dungannon Swifts before losing to Cliftonville in the semi final.

In the Mid-Ulster Cup we beat Banbridge Town before losing to Annagh United in the quarter final.

In the NIFL Cup we beat Portadown and Linfield before losing to Larne in the quarter final.

Key players

Phil Hammond 23i - Not as amazing as last season, but still a great season and loads of goals.
Robert Devlin 23k - The other striker once again, but contributes a lot.
Conor McAree 24l - A great season on the right wing.

Welcome! England is not easy, but neither are any other to be fair. There are two types or difficulty in this challenge, and the hardest one is mostly based on what you think about it. For smaller countries, it's often easier to get to the top and win the league, but it's hard to go anywhere in Europe. For bigger leagues (like England) it's often harder to reach the top domestically, but as soon as you actually enter Champions League, you should have a possibility of winning it.

I don't quite know why, I've thought about France, but the league have never caught my fancy. The only thing I can think, is that you can't manage in the lowest tier (like Norway and Romania), so you can more make sure whatever team you want is promoted, and that's nice, but other than that...?

A more solid year for us in our third year in Liga II and I'm pleased with where the club is headed.

We've had some excitement this season off the pitch as well as the club was bought out and we welcomed a new board. I've been lucky enough to get the previous board to continually invest in our youth and brought it up to a decent level already so hopefully I can get the new board to invest in our training facilities as we could really do with bringing them up in standards.

On the pitch striker Florin Morar was the star performer this year while fellow striker Andrei Teutisan finished as the clubs top scorer with 9. Around October I decided to take over training the squad myself after previously having my Ass Man do the job, we seemed to get more comfortable on the ball as I heavily focus on technical training and we played some lovely football out on the park.

I gave a lot more game time to my younger academy graduates this year and most of the older heads in the squad will probably leave this summer as a few have come to me saying they want a new challenge, in particular my three centre backs who did so well for me last season. So, we will have a very young squad next season so I'm expecting it to be a slog again. We're also probably going to have to sell star talent Marius Lazar this summer as there's a list as long as my arm after him and there's no way he will sign a new deal.

Could be a few years yet before I'm in a position to be challenging for promotion :(

Season 2026/27 (Season 5) Review - Belfast Telegraph Championship - Northern Ireland

League | Squad | Transfers | Finances

After coming so close last year, this was a bit of a disappointment in itself. But we did overachieve a lot, so being in the contention for a playoff spot this season as well is a good season, to be fair. Looking at goals we were quite at the same level as last year, but we lost more close battles, and we got a bit unlucky at times. I think we can keep improving next season and perhaps soon get up to the top tier.

Cups

In the Irish Cup we beat Limavady United, Coleraine and Newry City before losing to Linfield in the quarter final.

In the Mid-Ulster Cup we beat Dungannon Swifts, Tandragee and Annagh United to reach the final. There we lost to Loughgall.

In the NIFL Cup we beat Newington Youth and Loughgall before losing to Glentoran in the quarter final.

Key players

Robert Devlin 23k - A good season from the striker.
Conor McAree 24l - The right winger had a good season providing double digits in both goals and assists.
Phil Hammond 23i - To round out the usual top 3, the other striker also had a good season.

@XaW last question with England do I pick a team who got promoted to the Vanarama Conference or is it that we have to pick a team that got promoted to Vanarama North or South?

Promoted to the lower tier playable. So promoted the North or South. When the league rolls over (June 24th or there abouts), press the "world" symbol and select England, there go to Season summary, and in that list you should see all teams promoted from the divisions below. It's the easiest way of finding out who is promoted.

Oh ok so I start in the Vanarama North or South then. I thought I had to start in the Vanarama Conference lol. I will have to start it again as I just selected York who just got promoted to the Vanarama Conference.

I wont be long.

2040/41 (season 21)

Premier League

Finish: 11th

Season Summary

Our first full season without Katowano and it showed. We were drawing and losing games that we would have won with him. It's a bit of a rebuilding period i think for the next 2 or 3 seasons

Shame as we had another really good fun season in the Europa League - we topped the group unbeaten again and easily got past Red Bull Salzburg in the 2nd knockout round. The quarter final saw us draw Everton who we managed to just sneak past on penalties 8-7. The semi final pitted us against Sporting Lisbon and I felt confident, particularly the good form we found ourselves in, but the first leg saw us lose 3-1 at home after having a man sent off in the first half, which was hugely frutsrating. The away leg was a bridge too far and a 1-1 draw sent us home.

The FA Cup? second year running Spurs battered us. 6-1 this time....

Players

Juddy Mutombo 32A - The main man again! Top scorer, top assists and top average rating. Seems really happy as well, i think he'll be absolutely key over the next few seasons

Marti Fernandez 40A - I didn't want to play him much as a 17/18 year old but injuries meant he had to play a lot more than I was comfortable with. he responded well, 8 goals in 31 games with an average rating of 7.25, and is now worth 13.75m. He has a good chance of being a first choice player next season which should be interesting regarding his development

Youth

A really good youth preview with another golden generation promised. I was most excited by the promise of a Slovakian centre back as I'm really low on defenders

And the intake? of course. Another striker was by far the best prospect! only 3.5* but to be honest he looks a lot better than that. I'm quietly confident I have another ridiculously good striker on my hands. Look at that personality and determination!

Finances and Improvements

yeah, I'm doing alright really. 500m in the bank. I really wanna spend it, I'd win the league then!

James Morris YP5A, the youngster who got poached from us from Larne has just received his first call up for the Northern Irish senior team which makes him the first player to do so from our youth academy. We've got a 50% sell on clause on him and Man Utd are currently linked with him.... He's currently got a £500k release clause so i'm hoping Larne can renew him to another contract to get rid of that and hopefully I'll be in for a huge windfall!

Did anyone else see the little tweaks they announced last night for FM21?

New things added to club vision and one of them will be to spend your transfer kitty in certain ways. Hopefully that isn't too strict or harsh or could put a dent in challenges like this.

Squad - League - Transfers - Facilities - FinancesIntake

Poor season would say. We got kicked out from Euro Cup by Rangers then very fast aswell from Polish Cup. On plus 2nd place in Polish League which allow us to play in Champions League. Finances are ok Im keeping upgreating Facilities. I've managed to have 3 fedders clubs from Finland, Sweden and Norway (spoilers in next season we got Iceland aswell) so I have high hopes for foreign intake next year. Intake is decent anoter good AMC on board brigned by my Faroe Island HOYD with 2 wingers.

FC Energie Cottbus

FC Energie Cottbus

Season Summary 2030 - 2031

Champions League progress

We went into the Bundesliga season hoping to secure our third consecutive Bundesliga titles and hopefully make a push for the CL-title. We were close to winning the league, but after this campaign I am more than happy that we secured a CL spot. Borussia Dortmund won the league with a 7 point margin, but throughout the campaign I think 5-6 different teams were top of the table. We finished 2nd with 63 points, only 4 points ahead of Hamburger SV in 5th and only 8 points ahead of Wolfsburg in 8th place! A really tough season and our domestic form once again took a dreadful turn in mid February, but we managed to pull through.

In the Champions League we drew Tottenham, Shakhtar and Red Star. Losses away against Tottenham and Shakhtar saw us finish 2nd once again. We got "lucky" in the first knockout stage when we drew Atletico Madrid. A very good team, but it was good to avoid Man City and Real Madrid.

We beat Atletico 1-0 at home and 3-2 away. In the next game we were up against domestic rivals Bayern Munchen. A very unlucky 0-0 at home made it a tough test away. We managed a strong 2-1 win away to progress to the semi finals. The semi final was very dissapointing. We faced Manchester City, who we also got in last years group stage and the team that knocked us out in the Qtr finals that season.

We lost 0-1 at home in the first leg, in a game that we really should have won! This was really dissapointing and as expected we lost to them away as well, 2-1. 3-1 on aggregate, but it was a big step for us reaching the semis!

With FM21 around a fortnight or so away beta wise, I think I am done with FM20 as I am itching to get going with the new one.

So I will start afresh with FM21.  I am now hooked on this challenge and will try again in two weeks!

So that I keep track, my highest position was 20th in the Premier League.

I think I will do a full blown stats thread oin the Careers Forum for my FM21 effort and post the end of season updates on here.

Poole Town FC Season 1 Review

image.jpeg.dd89ab377f604bb4fe305bdc526e77fa.jpeg

A nice first season ending 14th which is pretty decent considering I was a promoted side.

image.thumb.png.61594d19bd2ff4c1023c32600d5e8bc6.png

I got to the 4th Qualifying round of the FA Cup losing to Barnet and I got knocked out of the 3rd round of the FA Trophy by losing to Hartlepool.

Just a quick update as not posted anything for last couple of seasons

Nothing to report

After my top 6 finishes, nothing has happened

5 years of middle to lower finishes

I need a big push in last few days if I am going to make it Champions League before FM21

One thing I have noticed is none of my players are real superstars. Nothing valued over £25m

Need a couple of wonderkids

I'm interested, do you guys buy every version of the game? I'm seriously considering not buying the new version of the game and starting the new save with current game...

Will there be a new thread for FM21, what's the plan?

I've already pre-ordered. I have every version and play every version, but each to their own. I don't know if we will continue this thread or make a new one. What do you think, @darren1983?

Season Review 2263/64

We have finally qualified for Champions League, first time sine 2212/13!

MIles off top two but happy to finally qualify

Also potentially had one of my best Youth Prospects for decades!

Not had a player worth over £2m as soon as promoted

Usually only £200-£600k

LeagueCupSquad ViewPerformanceFinancesTransfersIntake

A decent season for us this year but we never really troubled the top to be honest. The squad is really starting to come together though and I do think it won't be too long before we are up there and looking to get promoted.

Sadly, top scorer Andrei Teutisan is off this summer but we've had a good intake and I'm hopeful someone else can step up and get the goals for us.

Florin Bucur was our best performer this season but the whole squad did better really and we played very much a team game this season.

The future does look bright for the club though as our youth team have become champions.

I'm not quite sure why I'm losing money though. We didn't have any building work and the wages are under control, the only thing I can think is that it's maybe due to the increase in our junior coaching? The costs of running it?

My idea a year or two ago was to have a general youth academy challenge thread (a bit like the ultimate challenge one) that goes on over time but not sure if people would want that or just have one for each version.

Personally unless there's big changes (like this year with player pathway and such) I'm happy with a general thread
