ddidiodion Posted December 28, 2015 Share Posted December 28, 2015 Everyone (bar Sid) was willing to wait and see how it goes, so what are you on about?At this point in time....everyone other than Sid was happy to wait and see how it goes but some were worried about where our style would take us but were being shut down by others who felt that no criticism was necessary because we had somehow managed to fluke a win. Go to the thread post the Watford game and it was pretty much a case of do not complain as we got the 3 points. It was not "Hey be patient" as you are suggesting because at that point no one was calling for the sack, the worry was the style of football. Commentary is not 2 extremes as you try to paint it Dion, it is not the sack now brigade versus the wait and see. That's precisely the point, what is the point in criticising something everyone knows isn't perfect and more time is required to fully evaluate something? Sure you can take a guess, but that still doesn't change anything. At that point in time those results were acceptable on the basis that we were doing enough to give ourselves time to improve. Nobody was claiming it was fantastic football or that it would be sustainable into the future. That is where the problem lies, it is not a case of one-upmanship mate as much as you jump on every word hoping it is. I supported the manager because I felt we were expecting too much and patience would see us through be it rightly or wrongly. We decided not to do that (rightly or wrongly) and sacked him then spent £250m plus the decimation of our squad to end up worse than we were under Moyes. Of course I will complain and criticise, people complain and criticise all the time. Moyes was criticised from day 1 by many posters so why are you upset that some criticised LvG. To say that LvG was work in progress and no one should have mentioned his flaws is hypocritical at best. "this isn't a reason for major changes, yet" isn't the same as "everything is great, let's keep doing this forever". As mentioned above, nice to see Rooney leather one at goal from outside the box, doesn't do it anywhere near enough. Great challenge from Young on Azpi too. Plus clearing that cross early in the game that stopped a almost certain goal. Schmidfield getting tons of space and it's allowing us to dictate the game. Hazard drops to the floor at every opportunity. Ivanovic should file police report though, Martial raped him for his chance. Can still see this being 0-0. Hiddink will have told the Chelsea players to try to press more but United's players can't let them start doing that because once Chelsea start closing up the space, United will start slipping back into old habits.
