dlnwba86
Halesowen Town - Pre-season update I'm finding it tough to sign any quality players in my second season in the north division. I originally tried to sign Nicholson again on loan but he said no chance. I was getting desperate so i just tried again, not long before the first game of the season, and guess what, he said yes!! I have my 44 goal a season man back on board and suddenly i'm more optimistic about the season ahead.
zutcorp
wow! Im just feeling really bad! Been having great fun with tiverton save, but I guess its gotta go, since its corrupted. Im contemplating waiting for the patch to start now...although, what am i going to do with my life then :-) from what i have seen though, most issues in the game arent database related, but engine related (along with some minor issues), so i hope a game thats startet now and then patched will work out fine...What is you guys impressions from last year= is it worth it waiting for the patch, or will I most likely be okay? paulsgruff
My third season is going absolutely terribly. I have 8 playes in my squad; 6 who are 16 years old and 2 who are 15 years old. I have no (that's not even a single one) staff, it's just me and my chairman. I have no transfer budget. Fortunately my wage budget is at £5105 per week and i'm only using £440 of that. My overall budget is + £40372. So i'm off to find coaches, an assman, physios and at least some players (here's hoping for a good parent club). Season expectations is to achieve a mid-table finish. And my chairman is willing to sell the club for any offer. </div></BLOCKQUOTE> Was in a similar position at the start, except I only had 4 youth players. Managed to build up a very good squad and staff, but it's hurting my wage budget, which is why I'm losing money . mattyisalegend
Kings Lynn - Dec 08 - Conf North Well im half way through the 1st season so thought i would do a little update. Ive really surprised myself at how well we have done although i do think if i pick up a few injuries ill quickly drop down the league. I havent done very well in the cups being knocked out in my 1st game in all 3 competitions but not too bothered about them. Finances are looking good, mainly due to the fact that im only paying out £2100 a week in wages which is £200 under budget and im getting crowds of between 1500 and 2000 for every home game. best performance league table finances top scorer star player supersub I just hope the 2nd half of the season is as good as the 1st and hopefully if i can bring a goalscorer in ill be able to make the playoffs. Not exactly the hardest games in the world, yet... the following has happened. Halesowen 2 - 7 Leek Town Halesowen 0 - 4 Willenhall (2 Reds for me) Halesowen 3 - 6 Kidderminster (1 Red for me) so, like i said, not the hardest games. freelinet
Chippenham End of Season update 2008/2009 IMO the 1st season is the worst especially seeing as I only started with 4 youth players and loads of greys!! Transfers In I decided to go for some experience with Gayle and Mooney unfortunatly the latter turned out to be a bit of a plum . Still I had to be happy with the fact that I didn't spend any transfer money so I got £0 left to spend. Parent Clubs. It took 3 attempts of me asking until my board caved in and offered me: Bristol Rovers Bristol City Forest Green No surprise that I chose Bristol City. How did I do? After plenty of ups and downs throughout the season and considering I was predicted to finish 21st I was quite happy with my final league position- BS South Table 2008/2009 Star of the Year Board Confidence Home Screen The only thing I need to do now is to lower my Wage budget: Total Wage Budget- £2717pw Actual Wage Budget- £4135pw (Not as bad as some I've seen!! ) Onwards to 2009/2010 Any other screenshots available on request. Alurny
Monthly Update- August 2009: Stamford Blue Square Premier Just a quick update on my progress thus far in the premiership. I sit an ominous 13th (but I cant say I wont be happy with that at the end of the season) on the back of some pretty lucky results. It appears my tactic of 10 men behind the halfway line and one striker works well against the bigger teams. Result of the month: Stamford 1 v 0 York Player wise I have released some of the players I signed initially in june to fee up some wage. Currently in the process of signing a regen from, yes, Monserrat. Goal wise Howe, Savage and Hindmarch continue to hit the mark and new signing Rae is looking forward to getting his chance. Player of the month is goalkeeper Veiga who has kept me in every single game with great performances!
NepentheZ
Ok. Im getting Pi$$ed off now. In my last 4 Friendly's i've had.... 4 Reds (Two players twice) 12 Yellows 6 Goals Scored 19 Goals Conceeded And i dont know why. I'm doing not much different from last year, but my players are having no shots, my target man no longer has the same amount of headers he usually has (usually between 15 and 30 a game, in the last 4 matches he's totalled 18 attempted headers) and im getting battered by teams with worse quality than me. I've STRENGTHENED my team over the summer, with 3 new defenders all rated better than my current lot, a couple of midfileders and a forward, ALL rated better than who i had before, but my team has fallen apart. On top of that, im £150k in the red, and the board are 'Angry' that i've done nothing about this. How am i supposed to make money on a wim? On the only bright note, they are 'Extreemly happy' that im well within my wage budget. This is SO much harder than FM07 ....

Jimbokav1971
NepentheZ. Are you comparing this season to your first season in FM08, or this season (FM08) to last season (FM07)? If it is the latter then I know exactly what you mena as it wa my first impression too. I would suggest that you watch a full match and it should shed some light on the subject. What I found was that if I tried to use the Target man tactic that bought me success in FM07, then my target Man would not be able to challenge often enough for the ball because the quality of the balls to him, (and his lack of ability), meant that he just wasn't getting near enough to the ball. What I have done is reduce the passing levels right down, but still play Targget man instructions to head. This seems to be working.

paulsgruff
Has anybody else experienced this sort of player unhappyness? I signed the guy knowing that he would easily be my best centre back and he got unhappy after a few games, morale went right down - but I carried on playing him and he has now notched up 46 appearances this season and seems to be intending to retire Any suggestions on how I can get him to change his mind? As I say he is only 22 and by far my best centre back.
