vikeologist
Vikeologist's Palermo 2036/37 End of Season Report A year ago I bemoaned the fact that Quote “we did set a club record for points in Serie A and were only 3 points behind the winners. Perhaps this season was an opportunity missed. It will probably be a long time before anyone wins the league again with only 77 points.” Well, funny story. With 12 matches to go we were coasting towards the league title. We were about 13 points clear at the top. I was asking myself questions such as how soon should I start blooding my youth prospects, and might we complete the challenge this season? The question I should have been asking myself was what happens if some of our razor thin of quality squad starts picking up lots of injuries and one of the teams behind us starts winning every match? As discussed in my Champions League report, our lead shrank to 5 points and then 2 as Juventus suddenly loomed horrifyingly large in our rear view mirror. To add to the stress, our last league match was to be away to Juventus. Juve stumbled a bit and we had plenty of chances to stop it going to the final match. We would have secured the title with a win in our penultimate match, but we only drew. So, a title decider it was to be. We only needed a draw to be champions. We went into the lead with a penalty and with half an hour to go I shut up shop. They equalised in stoppage time to make it even more stressful, but we held on. We have won the league, but honestly, I don’t think I’ve ever won anything in FM in a more pathetic way than this title. To put our success in context, in those last 12 matches we picked up 12 points. Relegation form. And that 77 point league winning tally I cited at the start of the post. We won the league with 74 points from 38 matches. A league record low. We have 3 or 4 positions on the pitch where our starter is ok, but everyone below them is garbage, and sometimes this season we had to rely on the sewage below the garbage for a lot of matches. I think the problem is actually that I have too many players. For the last 4 or 5 seasons my youth intakes have been poor but I’ve been giving contracts to kids just to fill out the ranks of my U18s, and not cutting them loose when they’re no longer needed. This off-season I need to have a cull, cut out the weeds and hope there’s some green shoots somewhere, or at the very least ensure that my mediocre backups get enough match time to be match fit when I need them. But anyway. We’ve won the league. Now I just need to ensure that we keep finishing in the top 4, and try to win the Champions League. But honestly, I want to win the league again, and feel like I deserved it this time. Top Goalscorer – Vanni Lugli YP7d – 17 Lugli hasn’t been a starter in the past, but this season for the most part I dropped my usual top scorer Varsallona for Lugli. I’ll be honest. 9 of these goals were penalties which made him look more prolific than he really was, but Varsallona once again did not have a good season when he did get time, (nor did my ‘best’ striker Allegretti), so I’ll probably stick with Lugli next season. Highest Average Rating (minimum 10 matches played) – Luciano Campi YP5g – 7.18 Ninth year in a row, but this time by only 0.02. He did not play well at the end of the season, but then, nor did anybody else. Man of The Match – Luciano Campi YP5g- 6 Most Valuable Player– Luciano Campi YP5g Season Division Position Notes 20/21 C/C 8th Eliminated in 2nd round of promotion playoffs. 21/22 C/C 8th Eliminated in 3rd round of playoffs 22/23 C/C 2nd Eliminated in Quarterfinals of playoffs. 23/24 C/C 1st Won league and Super C Cup easily. 24/25 B 4th Lost in playoffs S/F 25/26 B 2nd W7 D1 of last 8 matches. vikeologist
We're in the Club World Championship. I've no idea why. Is it based on coefficients? Can't be the Europa League because we won that 5 seasons ago. Anyway, my board expect me to win it! Hopefully my job status will cushion me from their inevitable disappointment.

Accrington are probably the worse league team I could have drawn in the 1st round because I had no real chance of winning but their crowds are the the lowest in the Football League on my games except Sutton. That said, now I've had 2 intakes I'll definitely be taking a deeper look at the number of players we have and trimming those who are not going to contribute. Mentoring is new to me and to be honest apart from increasing some of the players determination I've made a hash of it so far so any advice and guidance would be greatly appreciated! vikeologist
My training facilities were downgraded, so I asked the board to get them back to top notch... and they refused. I mean we have over 200 million in the bank. We've just won the league and the board are even higher than our coefficient given they expect me to win this CWC *, but they don't want to spend money on our facilities. They folded petty quickly, but I'm not happy. Mind you, we might not have 200 mill for long. I get the feeling being league champs is going to go to some players' agents' heads and they're going to want to pay rises. I mean, far from being the best team in the world, I'm not convinced we're even the best team in Palermo given our recent form. Had to check that we don;t need the CWC for the challenge. If we had, I'd have left it for another day. Had enough stress this morning with the league run-in. Technically the competition is part of the same season, so Vikeologist's (Updated) Palermo 2036/37 End of Season Report Something dreadful has happened. Not that we didn't win the CWC. I mean, we didn't. we were knocked out in Quarter Final Extra Time by Real Madrid. Thanks to bugs in the game, our team were tired while theirs were all match unfit, but no, the updated player stats mean that Highest Average Rating (minimum 10 matches played) – Giovanni Pierpaoli YP5a - 7.20 Campi's 9 season run has been ended. Pierpaoli was 0.02 behind before the CWC, and afterwards he was 0.01 ahead. It's the end of an era. Pierpaoli might be our best player, and his long term injury was probably a big part of our late season collapse, but still. Anybody apart from Campi winning is against nature. SpS_Zen
Season 2034/2035 I have mixed feelings about this season. We performed surprisingly well, and we were close both times to manage great sucess. But we failed to do so. In VNL, our were results better and better during the season. We ended strong, beating convincingly some of the best VNL teams. We reached an unexcepted 5th place. This is mainly due to my defense, 29 clean sheets this season! The PO started well against Maidstone 4-0, then we suffered 120 minutes against Chorley. Only our heroic defense able us to reach the PO finals in a game clearly dominated by Chorley. Against Woking, similar scenario, we suffered 120 minutes in front of 38.500 spectators, and lost during the penalties. It is frustrating to miss a such opportunity on a coin flip. For the first time, my u18 team played in the div.3 u18 league. I haven't improve my facilities, so may be the spot is linked to the club reputation. We reached 3rd place and won the u18 cup. Several players improved a lot and would be decent for League 2. My GK is my best player. We lost straight away in Fa Cup to Dorking (VNLS). We had really good draws in FA trophy, allowing us to reach Semi Finals. We lost in a very close game against Bromley (VNL) and missed the opportunity to play a final versus a VNLN team. This would have been a great chance to win a trophy! This run bringed a bit of cash, as well as the PO finals in Wembley. I have noticed my expenses for youth teams increased a lot, from 10k month to 17,5k. It hurts our finances. I suppose it is due to the participation of my u18 to the u18 league, but i'm not sure. A decent year with again a GK as hot prospect. I have a GK as hot prospect every 2 years. He doesn"t look that good and i expect a striker to be the star of this generation. grff
NK Zadar: 2050/51 season review Back to winning ways as we clinched the domestic double. A few surprises in the league as Rijeka almost went down, whilst Inter Zapresic were frontrunners for the league before slipping away. Our CL campaign ended in the Q/F as we lost to Manchester City once again. A fair amount of impressive stats achieved by the squad. Our best four players contributing in important areas... Rapaic (41A) was the subject of a £121m bid in August from Barcelona. Luckily the bid rejections didn't unsettle him. Youth intake. Some much needed prospects in defensive areas... Transfers. Nothing noteworthy here. Our overall best XI has some crazy appearance numbers...

thomas_e
South Shields Youth Intake 2031 A below average youth intake, but we have been lucky over the last few years, so we cant complain! That includes Ian Davidson, even though the coaches like him, I don't really see the potential.
Diego D10S
Season 2028 / 2029 January Update In short youth intake doesnt look good, but absolutly delighted with the season so far. If I can keep this up it will be one of biggest achivements. My hope for the season is to atleast go down fighting. The board doesnt share my excitement tho and this feedback just provoke me. Loosing 0-7 against Real Madrid fair enough but being concerned about my 1-2 defeat against Barcelona..... really ? I will highlight my defence line. Playing the best players in the world, what do you expect ? It actually worries me because what if I fall apart second half of the season ? Getting the sack ? Maybe. Diego D10S
@officiallydeej About mentoring I have had alot of success with it. Its all about creating better personalities. If you dont have any strong personalities you probably have some fairly determined, fairly proffesional, fairly sporting or even fairly loyal. Every positive personality works. Let the assistent set up mentoring groups and just make changes to that in the beginning to get used to it. Position I dont care about at all, as I said its all about personalities. Only thing you need to be careful about is preferred moves. Players do sometimes acquire preferred moves from their mentor, so for exampel if you have a center back mentoring a more offensive player and he has stay back at all times as preferred move it is a risk he will aquire it. Also you want to use Influential player, higher influential or team leader, all those work. And for exampel having a 20 year old mentoring a 19 year old is no problem at all as long as the mentor are a more influential player. officiallydeej
Tamworth FC - 2022/23 - Vanarama National League North League Table - End of Season Fixtures - Transfers Colin Connolly - 23a - Aiden Hancock - 23b - David Phiri - 23c I've got to be honest I didn't write a full review or take all the screenshots because after the end to the season I had I was struggling for motivation to carry on the save. We only won 2 of our last 20 league games, including a 10-2 hiding at Gateshead and in all honesty only stayed up because there were 4 sides who were absolutely hopeless. I decided to race on and start the next season, play a few games and see if I could get the buzz back. Luckily I have and although we aren't troubling the promotion places I've now got a clear identity and although it's taken some time the players are finally buying into it and results are much better. I won't put a full report on until I've finished the season but I've got the youth much more involved and my attack is now spearheaded by Van der Vlag 21a who already has 22 goals so far this term. XaW
XaW - Íþróttafélagið Völsungur - 2030 Table | Squad | Transfers | Finances This season we lost a great player, so right back is now a position I'm really hoping to get in future intakes. I'm also swarmed with big teams looking at a lot of the players, and I wouldn't be surprised if I lose some soon. The league went really well and we won it again, winning all but two matches this time around. So quite comfortably, really. In the League Cup we won our group, then beat Fylkir in the semi final and Fjölnir in the final to clinch another trophy. In the VISA Bikar karlá we lost to FH in the 3rd round as I heavily rotated the side with youngsters, so a very poor showing there. We are back in the Champions League this season and we started in the 1st qualifying round were we beat Linfield of Northern Ireland. In the 2nd qualification round we knocked out Red Star of Serbia. Then, in the 3rd qualifying round we got past APOEL of Cyprus. In the 4th qualifying round we beat Hajduk Split of Croatia to get to the group stage. In the draw we got Milan of Italy, Man City of England and Benfica of Portugal, so a really tough group. So far we've lost at home to Milan and away to Man City and are yet to score a goal. I'll update when we're done. Edit: And we are done. After the first two losses, we managed to beat Benfica at home, before losing to them away. Then we got beat by Milan away. In the final match of the season we actually managed to draw against Man City at home, even if the match was of no importance for them. So we finished dead last in the group, but were surprisingly not only a whipping boy for the big teams. Here is the same map as last time, since we didn't face any new countries this year. We had a rather good youth intake with a random Argentinian talent in Federico Pezzani 30a. The other worth mentioning is Gunnar Helgason 30b. The leading players this season have been Ásmundur Heiðarsson 23d, Baldvin Jósteinsson 28a and Hrannar Gestsson 28f. Owenhide
Volsungur 2022 Really good season this season for me but also really unlucky at the same time because in our first season you only needed 34 points ton get promoted an this season I got 43 points and was still 4 points off it. This season went out of the cup in the 3rd round due to over rotating and went out in the league cup as I just tried to blend in my youngsters. This was the first season my youngsters stepped up an became the main men with a few of them having offers from the bigger teams in the country but I've persuaded them to stay. I'm very confident I'll be able to push on next season and get promoted which was my aim at the start of the save to get promoted in the 4th season. An ok youth intake this season no where near as good as I hoped but I'll see if I can get any of these involved next season. These were my best 3 players this season Hardarson has been my best player consistently an that's why he's one of the 3 players to still be at the club from when I started the game. He plays both the dlp and ap role so well and always pops up with vital goals an assists. It's been Audunsson's breakout season this season and I couldn't of imagined him to play as well as he did I thought he'd just be in and out the team but he made himself one of the first names on the team sheet every week. Kristjansson was good last season but this season he added goals to his games and was a bit of a free kick specialist scoring and scored some vital goals to win us some games. One problem with him is that I can sort his personality out it was mercenary and now it's changed to Fickle which is even worse so hopefully the mentoring can improve it. Some special mentions of some youngsters below who have improved a lot and are attracting offers from other clubs so hopefully the chairman doesn't accept any. Nothing in the transfers this season and another reason I want to get promoted is to give my youth players a chance to go on loan to some playable teams in our nation as it is not possible at the moment. Going to try an get through this next season quite quickly and let's hope for no sales and promotion to the top division. officiallydeej
Tamworth FC - 2023/24 - Vanarama National League North On the Pitch League - Although 14th doesn't look impressive on paper, this was a big step forward from the previous season with 17 more points on the board and a positive goal difference. We got stronger as the season went on and our youngsters developed and learned the system I want them to play. Obviously conceding over 90 goals (we had a 7-7 draw and 5-7 defeat!) is an issue and I made need to reign in the attacking approach slightly next season. At least it's entertaining for the fans I suppose. I'm not in a rush for promotion and the board appear exceptionally patient but would perhaps like to see us start to try and trouble the playoff contenders in the next season or two. Cups - A couple of high scoring wins in the cup before we went out in a rather tepid defeat to Hereford, who will be joining us back in the VNL next season. Wasn't too bothered about the Trophy, with another side coming down to join us next season, Harrogate, knocking us out in the first round. The Squad Squad Overview - Much better average ratings than I've seen before here an a healthy number of academy products getting plenty of action whilst racking up decent numbers in the process. I'm finally turning around some of the more difficult personalities (Thanks @SpS_Zen and @Diego D10S for the mentoring advice!) and I'm optimistic this group can continue improving. Roelof Van der Vlag 21a - The star of our first youth intake finally came to the party with a terrific return of 27 goals and 9 assists in his first full season leading my forward line. Any future promotion ambitions will no doubt rely on his continuing improvement, with my staff already rating him the 5th best player at the club. Terrique Anderson - My top scorer for the past two seasons was pushed into a more supporting role but still more than contributed with 18 goals and 15 assists. He's our highest paid player by some way but more than justifies the £900 p/w I'm paying him. Rob Walker 20a - I decided to add a YP tag to Rob as even though he didn't come through one of my intakes he did some through in the AI's holiday season. A mainstay in both my midfield these reports he has now developed to become the best player at the club. Youth Intake Youth Candidates - The first time in this save we haven't had at least one five star prospect. We are fairly stacked in the positions the stronger players have come through in, but I still signed the top 7 players from the intake to see how they develop. Moses Etim 24a - Bags of pace and terrific natural fitness, definitely someone who I can work with. James King 24b - A smaller centre half who I'm hoping to turn into a defensive midfielder, a position we're currently light in. Jake Deeney 24c - Another giant centre half (we seem to be a breeding ground for these). He has very similar base stats to a number of the young defenders at the club but we'll see how he develops in the next couple of seasons. Off the Pitch Transfers - No-one out again but I am planning to release a few of the older fringe players, whilst long serving centre midfielder Chris Lait is refusing to sign a contract so unless that changes I'll be losing him too. Finances - We had a consortium take over at the beginning of the season who put us back in the black for a few months but unfortunately still wouldn't approve any upgrades before we slid back into the red. grff
NK Zadar: 2051/52 season review Heartbreak as we were pipped to the league title on the last day, although it was probably deserved as we trailled Dinamo all season. Hajduk finished 8th which is their lowest finish since the creation of the Croatian league system. We were beaten on away goals in the CL first knockouts, this time to Atletico, another of our bogey teams. Some fairly impressive numbers. The topscorer stat is a little worrying especially as our record goalscorer has just announced his retirement. His fugures have dropped off though. Youth intake was very pleasing. This little treasure could be set for big things... Transfers. Our youth squad won the UEFA Youth League again, rubbing shoulders with some giant teams.

thomas_e
South Shields Season Summary 2030-2031 A note before the season summary: It is absolutely ridiculous that our club should struggle financially when we have the lowest salaries in the league (I think we have 25% yearly salary costs compared to the club with the second lowest salaries), but we have sponsorship income like we are still in the Vanarama. We have £730k in total sponsorship revenue!!!! In the Championship! Yes, we have a 5100 capacity stadium, we will get a new one next year, but the fact that SI haven't corrected such an easy problem shows that they dont care at all about the hardcore group of FM players who do challenges and actually does something more than just plug-and-play saves with Man City and Barcelona. I'm sorry, I know that harsh, but that's the way it feels. If someone here has knowledge of coding and can tell me that it's complicated to fix this issue, please let me know, and I will retract my statement. This problem makes this challenge almost impossible if you play in one of the big leagues where you start really far down in the league ladder, England being the best example. I have been lucky as I have had quite a successful run so far so I have gotten some good prize money. But if I dont get to the Premiership within say 4-5 years, I will have to quit the save, as I would be forced to pay League 2 salaries to Championship-quality players. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- A really good season and we made great progress from last year where we could have gotten relegated on the last day. A year more of experience for our very young starting 11 gave instant results and we were a lot more consistent this year. An 11th place finish is something we can be really prouf of! We showed pretty decent form throughout the whole season, never performing great and never being relly poor. Our star player Bob Sterry scored 24 league goals, just like last season, and finished 2nd in the top scorer rankings. Eddie Sheridan on the right wing had his poorest season se far, only scoring 5 and providing 7 assists, nothing compared to his 16 goals and 11 assists last year. Let's hope he turns his form around for next year. We have two really great talents in our squad, Ross Finnie in goal and Steve Brazil on the left side. Brazil has been trained to also perform naturally on the left wing and he was part of a rotation system with the left back (Ireland) and left winger (Sheridan) this season, to keep away fatigue, and also letting the star players know that they have to perform! Ross Finnie is now our star goalkeeper. I could have sold him for £10 million pounds, but I want to keep him. This challenge needs a good goalkeeper! I think he can be the next England GK, lets hope we are in the Premier League by then! Goals for next season would be to get closer to a playoff spot. We won't reach the playoffs, but we will give it the best effort we can! And only one more year before we get a 14 000 seat stadium! I don't think its realistic that a club that goes from Vanarama South to the Championship and almost don't see any increase in sponsorship income. I've noticed a small increase (no way near enough) Also remember that you're signing multi-year sponsorship contracts (sometimes 4 years+). The revenue only goes up once the old ones expire in my experience. I'm not saying the system is realistic, but please consider this.

And possibly youth recruitment. Not 100% how it works, but upgrading one or both of those increases the Youth Setup costs for sure. Your youth intakes will get slightly worse though. dkouv
Scarborough Athletic – Season 6 (2025/26) Vanarama National League: After last season’s third-placed finish I was expecting big things, but we actually regressed, with our usual pattern of good start - midseason collapse - end season pickup leaving us 6th. We finished the season in better form than last year, however, and managed to squeak out two playoff away wins to face the team that defeated us last year, Swindon, in the final. Alas, it wasn’t to be as they beat us 2-0 at Wembley, which means another season in the Vanarama National next year. We finally had a nice FA cup run this year, reaching 4th round where we narrowly lost a replay to eventual semi-finalist Sheffield Utd (now in the Championship). Players: Russell Jebbison 02c (DLC/DM) is still here, and Tony Webster (AMC/ST) had a great season, scoring 37 in total. Lewis Southern 05d (MRC/AMR) has progressed the most out of the youngsters. Youth intake: Poor depth overall but I got what I wanted - a goalkeeper and a fullback! Neil Smith 06a (GK) goes straight into the first team, and Joe Reece 06c (DR) should expect some games next season, too. Facilities: The FA cup run meant I just about had enough cash for a training facility upgrade. Youth recruitment is also improved.
