TottenhamBoi90
After a restart with Havant and Waterlooville i am now firmly underway. *Party Popper* After accessing the squad i discovered that with 12 crossing and dribbling, Ben Swallow was my best player technical player. I had a decision to make with 2 key player contracts expiring in 8 days. Jack Jebb who seems to be my only creative midfielder and Wes Fogden who plays right wing. I renewed their contracts for 2 years mainly to keep some continuity going after their promotion. The goalkeeper Matt Hall has some good stats and Mark McCrystal adds some experience and quality in defence. Reece Meekums is my hottest prospect after the previous manager signed him before i arrived. Theo Lewis was my only defensive midfielder and Matthew Paterson up front was the goal man from last season. I added quite a few staff with Chris Brindley coming in to be my Assistant Manager. Laurence Ball (Director of Football) come in and Iain Harvey (Head of Youth Development). Coaching wise i brought in Joe Stevens who has good attack and defence coaching and Andy Franks to be a fitness coach. My medical staff are Rebecca Linekar (Head Physio) with Ben Warren and Chris Lewis (Both Physio's). My scouting team is Craig Marshall and Mike Green (Both Scouts) and i also brought in Esther Wills as Data Analyst. The board want a top half finish but my players were aiming more for the play-offs. They also want to get to the FA Cup 1st Round and FA Trophy 2nd Round. Finances at this level don't allow for much but they arrived agreed to a lot of staff. I thought i would host some big teams in pre-season to bring in some money so the warm up to the season started off with 4 home games in 2 weeks hosting Aston Villa, Bournemouth, Cardiff and Dagenham, We actually did well but lost against the big 3 before beating Dagenham of the Vanarama National League which is promising. I then decided to travel to local sides Fareham (Win) and Bognor Regis (Lost) before hosting affiliate club Portsmouth at home (Lost). We traveled to local rivals Gosport to round off pre-season and we drew 1-1 with them who are in the same league as us so gave a good indication of where we are. The link with Portsmouth only gives us an Annual friendly so i have kept that in place but i was hoping to find a Senior loan link with somebody to which the board agreed but came up fruitless in their attempts to find one. Bit of a blow there. Now it's on to bulking out a squad which after a few players left was quite thin. I opted to scout England which quickly found over 300 players. I want to play football to as good of a standard as i can at this level so i will need a technical group of players. I further defined my 300 results down to around 35 who had at least 1 scouted technical stat which could be 18. *Ambitious but i thought if i sign any of these players they would inevitably arrive with their key stats a lot lower but it was better than risking a 12 which turns out to be 8* I then scouted those 35 players until full knowledge could be gained but this was difficult as many of them didn't have clubs. I offered out 9 trials to players that didn't have clubs. 7 of them were accepted and they joined me for 4 weeks. 2 right backs rejected which was disappointing but i decided to pursue them later on. I will talk about those trials in a moment as 2 players i found did have clubs and looked fairly decent so My first signing was James Comley from Maidenhead on a free who has good passing and tackling skills for my midfield. My 2nd signing was poacher Danico Johnson from Redditch for 3k. He scored 15 goals last season. I then realized that i needed a back up keeper so i went for Jonathon Miles on a free from Boston United without scouting him properly and i gave him a 750 p/w contract for 2 years that in hindsight after looking at him properly looks an absolute rip off. Then it was on to the 7 players on trial. Martin Slocombe had good tackling and was a left back but his overall ability was only 2 star but i thought he could maybe do a job. Joe McNulty had been released from Bristol City and had good heading and marking for the center back area, 19 year old. Jarrad Welch had a good first touch, passing and technique and was only 18, he looked miles better than the now renewed Jack Jebb so i could get competition in that area if i signed him. Richard Seixas had a good first touch but also decent pace but not the best. Aram Soleman was similar to Seixas so it looked as though a decision had to be made here. Danny Parish and Tristan Abrahams were strikers with decent finishing and could rival new signing Danico Johnson. Overall the trials had turned up a load of players who didn't look as though they would make an impact this season, all quite young but i want a technical side and with some coaching i thought i could work with these players so i signed all 7. I now had a bulky enough squad to start the season and i would access them again after 6 games. Those 6 games have proved to be quite a good evaluation and i have learned a lot about the team i have assembled. Firstly those 6 results were: St. Albans (H) - 0-0 - Played some football but faded second half Poole (A) - 1-2 - Epic first win, Jarrad Welch scored both goals and Comley was sent off late in the first half when we were 1-0 up at the time, a free-kick was headed in by Poole who dominated 2nd half but we nicked a winner late on. Good character. Gosport (H) - 1-2 - Local rivals, disappointing home defeat, struggled with set pieces. We have a crap pitch. Hampton & Richmond (A) - 1-1 - Made a few changes and went ahead before fading again 2nd half to drop 2 points. Welch got injured. Hungerford (H) - 1-0 - Back on the crap pitch, trying to play football actually won, pleasing. Danny Parish with the goal. Hemel Hempstead (A) 0-0 - Lost McCrystal last game so was pleased to have a good clean sheet without him. Overall the evaluation after 6 games is good. We are hard to beat but are going to need to relay our pitch if we want to play football at home. Finances are holding this back after a chat with the board so a good run in the Cups is actually crucial. We are set up in a 4-2-3-1 which is good as the first 3 games pit us against 4-4-2 sides which i expected to see a lot at this level. After that Hampton changed second half to 4-5-1 and I went for 4-4-1-1 to nullify their wings but we dropped points but to draw away is not too bad. Hungerford tried 4-5-1 from the outset and failed so next game Hemel Hempstead went 5-3-2 WB and that really killed us creating in the 4-4-1-1 so tactically used 2 systems so far and we have been okay with both. I am now scouting more players from our league as we come up against them after seeing Nicky Shorey and Guiseppe Sole in sides we've faced so far. I will look to make more signings through out the season still with my technical filters on but i am happy with the work i have done so far and will update you again at the end of the season. EDIT: Changed 6th result, Was actually Hemel Hempstead not Wealdstone and Goalscorer against Hungerford. As i needed to edit i thought i would Update after playing another 3 games but i promise it will be annually after this. Wealdstone (H) - 0-0 - Struggled to create anything but defended well. Hayes & Yeading (A) - 3-1 - Defeat and played rather badly. Maidstone (H) - 2-0 - Played well, Parish and Jebb with the goals but Fogden was injured. 3 more games brought 3 more 4-4-2's until Maidstone changed 2nd half to 4-3-3 which forced me to 4-1-4-1 and we doubled our lead in the game so it's now 3 good systems we have to call up on. I am looking at the results against 4-4-2 quite closely because against Hayes we got done a lot on the break so i might add a 4-5-1 to help protect against that. The pitch though, is going to play a key role this season. We have picked up our second injury on the poor surface and opposing sides are looking to play long balls and attack from set pieces against us but i don't really want to change my philosophy. If we can defend physically the possession will limit their opportunity therefore with the evidence i have seen so far i think we can turn it to our advantage. The FA Cup 2nd Qual. Round is coming up next so we can make a start hopefully on getting some money in to fix the pitch. At the moment though, The recruitment has now put us 24k in debt but home games claw back a few grand each time so i don't expect the situation to get much worse. Again the cup is crucial to that so hoping for a good run, Now it really is on with the rest of the season.
Butts
Really struggling having gone up, not getting hammered or anything but every game I either have someone sent off or give away a penalty not entirely sure wtf I can do about that as I had the best disciplinary record last season and don't remember giving away a single penalty, haven't changed anything. Butts
This is getting absolutely ****ing ridiculous now, having players sent off within 30 minutes in every game.

TottenhamBoi90
Wow!, Have i just done a hole season in about 8-10 hours? Yes i have lol. Havant & Waterlooville (First Season Review) (2017-18) First things first, I want to talk about my players, transfers and competitions. The squad built a very good base for what i want to achieve here on the South Coast. But for a catastrophic collapse during January and February i would have been in contention for the Play-Offs. I only lost 7 before the New Year which included an unbeaten run of 9 and continued on to 1 lose in 15 games and then i didn't win in 10 losing 8 of them. I quickly found a winning formula playing possession football with a solid defence. Goals were problematic at times but i scored enough to keep me winning until a few factors triggered my collapse. The chairman was and is still looking to sell the club, Some players who wernt playing revolted and once i stopped the rot of losses with draws i had a few individual errors that cost me but i turned it round towards the end. Here is a break down of the squad. GK - Matt Hall - Was fantastic, 20 clean sheets in 51 games only conceded 60. The only player to play every minute of the campaign although a few others started every game. DR - Sean Burke - Averaged a 7.02. 5 assists in 48 games before getting injured near the end. The guy is a natural winger but after i failed to sign 2 right backs in pre-season he became indespensible. DC - Dan Strugnell - Averaged a 7.03 only a goal and 1 assist in 51 games. Didn't play every minute but started every game. Very solid. DC - Mark McCrystal - Best defender i had when i started but he was diabolical. I cudn't get him on the pitch to start with, He picked up 2 injuries then he come back and then picked up 2 stupid red cards then he come back and played terribly and was dropped. DC - Joe McNulty - One of my signings, Only 19, 34 starts and 7 subs only managed an assist all season but he was dominant in the air. His tackling still lacks a bit but if its in the air, This guy will head it. DC - Robbie Cundy - Another 1 of my signings, Made 8 sub appearances and very similar to McNulty. Didn't really play them together due to lack of experience. 20 year old. DL - Cai Owens - 42 starts, 3 assists, Right footed playing at left back, I didn't really have any cover for him but he did well defensively. DL - Martin Slocombe - 9 starts, 7 subs, 1 of my signings, Has decent tackling but only really signed him as cover and he did okay. Actually being left footed made my decision to sign him. 1 penalty goal and 2 assists from his appearances. MC - Jack Jebb - Was expiring when i arrived and glad i kept him. DLP-D most the season but for a few great box to box showings. Started all 51 games, 3 goals, 2 assists. MC - James Comley - Another signing, Had 2 reds and a yellow card ban, fairly inconsistent but versatile. When he gets time on the ball his passing is fabulous. Only managed a goal and 2 assists but mainly a ball winner with 2.45 tackles per game. MC - Theo Lewis - I really don't know if i should keep this guy. 30 starts 9 subs 4 goals 3 assists, He technically isn't great but his energy is infectious although his stats don't reflect that. Rest of Central Midfield - Ryan Upward was signed, can tackle, 3.27 per game with 3 starts and 9 subs. Ahmed Abdulla 6 starts 9 subs 2 assists for the Saudi creator, Versatile too. Richard Seixas was poor and i didn't dare start him so he had 11 subs. Aram Soleman, Was very good early on, Drinkwater like hoofer to get assists, 2 goals 2 assists in 6 starts and 12 subs, Still young player. AMR - Wes Fogden - Like Jebb, His contract was expiring and i renewed it but this was an error. 6 starts 11 subs 2 goals 3 assists but had a long injury lay off. AMC - Jarrad Welch - My favorite signing, There is a lot more to come from him. Naturally MC but his stats make him clearly the best creator at the club so i moved him forward 36 starts, 2 subs, 4 goals 5 assists. He is lovely on the ball, Nice passing. AMR - Ben Swallow - A left winger, My best player technically when i arrived. Wasn't doing great on the left with Meekums on the right who is actually right footed but then i swapped their wings and they exploded. Swallow started all 51 games 12 goals 10 assists, Very good return, Expect him to improve on that next season. AML - Reece Meekums - The hot prospect of the squad upon my arrival, I was keen to play him as he was the only player who had decent pace and ability to go with it. Started 42 games 3 subs 12 goals and 7 assists and like Swallow, will be expecting more next season. ST - Danny Parish - Was a punt signing to challenge the other strikers but he was really the only striker to take his chance upfront. 36 starts 5 subs 18 goals 3 assists, Only young, A good return and will be key next season, Doesn't go on crazy runs without scoring but could have got a few more if i am honest. Rest of the Strikers - Tristan Abrahams - Punt signing like Parish, Did well but doesn't contribute much to the team. 5 starts 10 subs 4 goals 1 assists. Again, Young player. Danico Johnson i expected more and the only player i signed for money at 3k, 3 starts 10 subs 1 goal 2 assists like Tristan doesn't contribute much. U23 Squad - Jonathan Miles, Free back up keeper from Boston Utd. Didn't play him got the arse and dropped him, Will sell because i massively over pay for his services. Bradley Tarbuck, No technical skills, No space in my team, *Fart Noise*. Matthew Paterson was the goal man of the regional season, I started with him but then Parish took over, Target man, decent player but now moaning and will be sold. U18 Squad - A bunch of youth candidates arrived and 2 have stood out. John Minshull center back and Duncan Mills left winger both look excellent prospects but yet to appear. Overall i am happy with my players and transfer activity but for a few flops. I do have a wealth of targets in mind. Ideally i want a cheap back up keeper, some full backs that can cross and a center back with experience. A set piece specialist would be nice and i may look at center midfield again. Back up on the wings and upfront is last on my list as the 3 i have are my star performers. I can't hide from the fact that i am 173k in debt!!! 33k came in prize money for the FA Cup and FA Trophy. Ultimately i have over spent in recruitment and any good offers may have to be accepted in the summer. I am not going to scale back my staff because i think the players will cover the cost in the long run although my staff wages are nearly as much as my players wages so hopefully the chairman sells and whoever comes in clears the slate. A tycoon maybe, Or not! I am still in dire need of a new pitch after i thought it would hinder the way i play it hasnt proved to be the case but i have had loads of pitch related injuries. I have got my National C license but the money ran out before i could get the B license. FA Cup - I beat Cinderford, Bath (Replay) and St.Albans (Replay) in the qualifying rounds before drawing Barnet at Home in the 1st Round proper. My initial game was waterlogged so had to played on a Tuesday night which i think effected the players, made it abit less special and then a John Akinde inspired performance from the Bees put me out 2-0. FA Trophy - I beat Faversham 5-1 with a hat trick from Tristan Abrahams to qualify for Round 1. I looked at the draw and a team called South Park obviously stood out. I then drew them at home and i chuckled in amusement. A 4-1 victory this time got me into Round 2 which pit me against Vanarama North side AFC Telford. I was a bit disappointed to lose 1-0 although they eventually went on to win it and the defeat meant i could concentrate on the league for the rest of the season. As it turned out, It was the start of the collapse. Vanarama South - The highlight games were 4-4 draws with Margate and Ebbsfleet. Best win was 5-0 at home to Margate. Tactically - I had a few teams play different formations but nearly everyone else played 4-4-2. My 4-2-3-1 with possession and closing down less was very solid and meant i could just pick off the 4-4-2 sides with ease until the collapse happened. Next Season - I am not expecting much difference next season, I think my side will improve because i have a young squad and with a few quality additions i think i should get Play-offs if not win it. Have made a few tweaks and will see how we go, there's been an insane amount of yellow cards in some games though like 12 between the 2 teams. I don't use ball winning midfielders as I know that's a recipe for disaster but have tweaked some of our other setting to see if we can perform better. alandlondon
Hi! Two quick questions...! 1- if you use the save game file from the first page, do you then add an additional manager (so theres two managers in the game?) or use the current one? 2- again if you use the save game, you aren't employed by 25th june. will this make you ineligible for the challenge? You retire the existing manager (as he should just be a placeholder so you can holiday through the first season), and create a new manager using your profile details and when the game asks you which club you want to manage you select the challenge team you want. TottenhamBoi90
Havant and Waterlooville (Season 2 Preview) I have had an okay pre-season. Similar to last season i have hosted bigger clubs in friendlies for cash and on that subject My chairman has gave me a cash injection which put me to 90k in debt but that's now back at 150k in debt on the eve of the new season. Last season the FA Cup mainly gave me 30k prize money but i am going to need to win the FA Cup at this rate to get me into a good situation. When i signed my new contract i did drop to 500p/w in the hope it helped. Only 6 players have left and they are McCrystal who was poor, Paterson who moaned, Fogden who was injured, Lewis who played half decent but faded, Tarbuck who had no skill and Upward who was poached by Redditch but i didnt fight to keep him. 6 Players have also come in, Liam Marsden is a right back who i think is a slight upgrade to Burke with 10 crossing rather than 9 and he also has a long throw, 2 right backs came in on trial but i didn't fancy Jim Fenlon or Steven Sessegnon. Dan Smith was released by Coventry and has good dribbling, first touch and heading he is the best striker i have with 3 good technical stats. Tom Lovelock is my back up keeper and much cheaper than moany miles in the reserves who i am still seeking to sell or give away after transfer listing him has done nothing. Lee Naylor at left back is by far and away my best technical player now but physically shocking at 38 years old. I am hoping his experience free kicks crossing and penalties will add a lot to my side this year. Shaun Lucien from Poole is 26 year old winger with poor physicals but has all the winger technical attributes over 10. Lastly is another creative player giving me 3 or 4 options now in Fabio Saraiva. Portuguese number 10 who has free kicks corners penalties technique and flair but most desirable for me was 13 long shots. Worryingly now most of my squad is on pay as you play contracts so can be poached easily but i am hoping financially it will help me out. Its a safer deal than having Miles with his 750 p/w contract even though he isn't playing but i am not going to gain anything if a club comes in for them. My big group of staff is the same i have not made any additions as my current crop like Miles are bleeding me dry but at least my staff are contributing. I will again update after 6 games once i have settled into the season. I do have Matt Hall in goal and Ben Swallow on the right out injured for the first 1,2 or 3 games which is a massive blow as they were my 2 top performers last year. EDIT: To save posting another reply i will just edit this post. The first 6 games are now complete and i am very happy with how its gone so far. I have finally had a takeover after months of speculation and many failed attempts. It was nothing special but they did take out a bank loan to clear my debts so i am now 20k in the black. Yayyyyyyy! Was 30k though so i am still losing money but hopefully with some prize money i shouldn't lose too much until the new year when it took a plunge last year. They rather strangely cut my link with Portsmouth though so i will no longer get an annual friendly with them. They agreed to find a new affiliate but came up with nothing, 3rd time under my management that has happened. Now on to tactics and selection ahead of the new season i was trying to fit in as many new signings in as possible to get a look at my new players as i get the assistant to do friendlies. In doing so Lovelock in for the injured Hall in goal and Lucien on the right wing for Swallow. Naylor started and Saraiva with Dan Smith upfront. Which leaves the midfield and i felt that only Comley was a must as my only tackling midfielder now. I have a good range of creative players but i can't fit them all in so i opted to drop Jack Jebb and move Jarrad Welch into the midfield leaving 10 free for Saraiva. I have been fiddling with number 10 role since playing Lucien there when Swallow returned and i think i should give Aram Soleman another go. Welch and Abdulla played there last season and are great on the ball but they don't really have the dribbling to excel. I think my best bet is Swallow moving central but i will definitely mix it up through out the season. Braintree (H) - 1-0 - Great win against a relegated Conference side, New signings off to a good start. Maidstone (A) - 0-1 - Another great win but it was lucky they had a man sent off and i scored late. Tired legs. Poole (H) - 5-1 - Rested tired legs with Swallow and Hall back in the side as well, We were rampant, Could have been 10 and should have been 0 at the other end. Oxford City (H) - 0-1 - Didn't score and they did kind of scenario. Bishops Stortford (A) - 0-1 - Can you guess what my favorite result is yet? Hampton & Richmond (H) - 1-0 - Another win, Top of the league, Promotion has to be on the cards this year. A brilliant start and all my new signings off the mark in 1 way or another. Lovelock looks a good find, 2 out of 2 clean sheets in the games hes played. Stat wise his communication is better than Hall so should be competition in goal this season. He also has fantastic rushing out and tendency to punch stats so really happy with him. Marsden has got an assist and he takes it upon his-self to launch a few long throws without me setting anything up so that's another good weapon to have. Naylor has been good with set pieces but does get tired quite a bit because hes old bless him. Lucien has a goal and looks good, Saraiva has a goal and looks good. Dan Smith has a few goals and also looks good. Really happy, Gonna smash it this season.

noikeee
Career thread Season 5 - 2021/2022 After a season of highly disappointing performances, we again attempted to get back to the Vanarama National, as I fully commited to the 4-1-4-1 that had look promising at the end of last season. I had vague hopes of fighting for automatic promotion, but Stockport quickly distanced themselves from everyone else, and we would spend all season long fighting to hold on to a playoff position. Unconvincing form from February to early April just dropped us out to 6th, but a late recovery saw us clinch the final playoff spot. Unfortunately, we would lose on penalties in the semi-final vs Salford. Unfortunately we went out to AFC Fylde in the semi-finals despite dominating both games we went down 3-2 chucking away a 1-0 lead when cruising at home to lose 2-1. TottenhamBoi90
Havant & Waterlooville (Season 2 Review) Again here are my players, transfers and competitions. To summarize my 2nd season at Havant & Waterlooville, It can be done with 3, 2 letter words. De Ja Vu! I was fantastic, I had a collapse and the season finished with me in mid-table. Although i feel i have improved in several key positions, The results are basically the same. In January i went from top to 7th in 1 game as the race was so tight for the title. I was only 2 points away and after my defeat in the FA Trophy 2nd Round i actually won back to back thinking i am not going to collapse this time. The collapse did happen again though. Probably a bit worse this time. On a personal note i now have a 2 year deal and when the money was there i took the opportunity to get my National B license. I only finished the season 112k in debt this time so that's an improvement. I did lose Assistant Manager Chris Brindley to a Managers position at Bromley and i responded by bringing in Danny O'Donnell as his replacement and i also added another scout (Jake Reid) so i could spot more players. Players GK - Matt Hall was not as good as last year and i am considering dropping him for next season with Lovelock waiting in the wings with his communication, kicking, rushing out and punching ability as well as matching Hall's, Command of area, handling and reflexes. May consider buying a new keeper altogether, Only 8 clean sheets for Hall. 3 for Lovelock but he only had 6 games. After 2 collapses i think both goalkeeper and center backs need to take responsibility. DR - I improved with output at Right back this year signing Liam Marsden who had a slightly better cross and a long throw. 8 assists for him but Burke did rotate a little and had an amazing game which he got all 4 of his seasons assists in a 4-2 win. Still searching for the right man in the transfer market. DC - Dan Strugnell again was my best center back. McNulty again was 2nd. I did have an injury to Strugnell so i brought in 2 more young center backs as cover. Cundy left after starting to play and play quite well but i wasn't too bothered. I could definitely improve at center back as Strugnell can't head and McNulty can't tackle. I have players that can't mark and player's that can't position themselves. I need a guy who is the hole package next year otherwise i will collapse again. DL - Lee Naylor was fantastic this season if only he was 10 years younger. 7 goals and 2 assists, all from free kicks and penalties. Didn't miss a spot kick all year. He will continue next season unless i find similar who is actually 10 years younger. Ball Winner - Comley frustrates me sometimes because his passing is fantastic but his touch lets him down. He got injured so Fernando Bell-Toxtle come in but he has the same problem. I need to change something in this area. Deep Lying - Welch has dropped back here this season and as he got 0 goals and 0 assists you can probably tell i am not happy but i do feel he is still my first name on my team sheet because of my philosophy. Right wing - Swallow was the dominant guy in this area again with 7 goals and 10 assists. I had intended on using him more centrally this year but i may now do it next season. Number 10 - My problem position. This season has been a lot better, Lucien and Saraiva have rotated and Soleman off the bench have contributed to 23 goals this season which was better than Welch 7 last term. Left wing - Meekums is the only pace really in my hole side. On his day he is unplayable, Most the time he isn't though that's the problem. 14 goals and 6 assists still a good return though. Striker - Dan Smith largely played upfront, 19 goals is an improvement to Parish last year but only just and with similar games. I look at mostly a 442 league and most teams have 2 strikers both with over 20 goals. I wish i could splash out on some of the strikers in this league because the ones i have, don't cut it. Transfers I am pleased with the work i have done this year, I have got better crossers and set pieces which i lacked the season before but now my squad lacks mental and physical attributes. Technically i am very good which is what i have been aiming for to get started. Now i am looking to feed in some mental and physical attributes to my side to take this god damn league by storm. I am still looking for technical players but i need key mental and physical attributes to take me forward. I am pretty sure that my scouts have now come up with some real all round gems if i can get my hands on enough of them i feel it could be my year next year. The final piece of the jigsaw. Competitions FA Cup - I got past Cirencester (4-1), Wimbourne (4-1) and Maidenhead (3-0) before meeting Forest Green of League 2 in the 1st Round and they dealt with me easily winning 5-1. FA Trophy - I beat Hampton and Richmond 1-0 to qualify for Round 1 where i beat Sittingbourne 3-0. I then met Conference National side Aldershot who were at the time and now have made it into the playoffs so no shame in losing 3-2 in the last minute to these League 2 hopefuls. Vanaram South - Last season i only lost 2 games by 2 clear goals. This season however i have lost by 3 or more goals on 4 occasions. Highlight game was the 5-1 over Poole on game 3. leejoelee
Billericay Season 1 Review I won't go into too much detail here (story telling is not my strong point) but I managed promotion via the play-offs in my first season. TBH, I think it's better to build the club a bit in the Conference South before pushing on but hey-ho. TRANSFERS http://imgur.com/gGMqcva Naturally I needed to buy a whole new squad. I unearthed a great loan in Tyrone Marsh from Dover who played great up top all season. I accidentally paid a fee to Poole for Charlie Smith which I was kicking myself about, as he wasn't fantastic. My best performers at the club were actually the guys that came up with the club... TEAM http://imgur.com/jlV2oxA Charles Banya and Ernest Okoh were playing on either wing as inside forwards, with Okoh finishing top scorer on 21. They were so great and reliable, interchangeable and both footed. I had to grab Sam Sergeant on loan in February as my keeper got a bad injury. LEAGUE FINISH http://imgur.com/mb9T2jF As you can see, a 3rd place finish and it certainly wasn't a season of domination. Dartford ran away with it and I ran into a bit of a sticky patch in March with a few losses, but really turned it around the last 4 games to bag a play-off spot on the last day of the season. Setting me up with a 2 legged tie against St.Albans, which featured a great couple of games, 6-4 on aggregate. http://imgur.com/pkwDsVO I then came up against Hemel Hempstead in the final. I really didn't fancy it, as I'd lost both games this season, but I made it. 2-1 in the final. http://imgur.com/um3DaiG MANAGER OF THE SEASON and rightly so... http://imgur.com/J7rFMro Looking forward, I'm gonna try and keep the spine of the team, especially the spine of Okoh and Banya. A couple of shrewd loans will be nice. I've been trying to get a senior affiliate to no avail but hopefully the board can sort one out now I'm in the conference Premier. They're also building a new stadium for 13 months time, imaginably named "The Billericay Stadium". Watch this space!

deadfncat
Dulwich Hamlet - Sky Bet League One - 2021/22 - Fifth (Promotion)Overview So it seems the quality between League 1 and 2 is about the same as it always is. Using the momentum from last season, we were able to sit mid table for most of the season. All 4 teams who were promoted from League 2 last season were very competitive and we even played Exeter in the playoff final after they led the league for most of the season. We got a few key players back from injury towards the end of the season and it propelled us up the ladder a bit as well as some luck. The finals themselves were a bit uneventful with us beating Peterborough who were from L2 like us. In the final, we faced the Harry Kewell managed Exeter who had been bad mouthing me all season. We played fantastic football though and put them to the sword. Also Still no news of Brexit. No sure whats going on. FA Cup - 4th rnd We played really well and actually beat Championship Millwall to go into the 4th round. Once there, Premier League Watford outclassed us. but we held on well I thought. Watford were in 2nd place at the time! League Cup - 3rd Round This was an amazing game. Our first game was against CH Nott Forest and damn it was close. Took it to extra time, but they spanked us with two quick goals and sealed it up. A good way to start the season though. Checkatrade Trophy - Champions! I have wasn't a fan of this cup, but decided to go all out attack in the games and see what happened. haha it actually was amazing. The u23 squads just leaked goals and we held our own against the other L1 teams well. Some nice new silverware to the cabinet. Squad Johnny Burn and Adam Bell are the rising stars the team. Ollie Bassett was at red morale for 95% of the season because I didn't bring in enough talent he thought, which may have affected his play. Will definitely be bringing in a lot more in the new season. QSF25
Playing semifinal playoffs atm. Colkin a 17 year old player who I signed when I was in Vanarama North has just send us to the final scoring the winner 3-2 in the 119 minute. Club captain, top scorer of all time and icon of the club. It's because of this moments that I love FM. This is the story of a small boy who grew to be the leader of a small team from Kettering. Where strikers came and left but he kept working hard through bad days and injuries until he proved he could get into the TOP. This is Robert's first match with us on Kettering back in 2018. profii
Blyth Spartans Season 2017/2018 - Vanarama North - Finish 1st Played 42, W27 D10 L5 GD39 Quite an easy season overall as I was top or 2nd pretty much all the way through, I was even on points with Halifax for ages, then lost a game, drew with Halifax and fell behind. After a great run of wins they slipped and I took the lead back, they kept up right until the penultimate game, which if I won, we were title holders. In the end we both lost and I took the title. In terms of players, Joe Thompson was player of the season with 15 goals and 11 assists, closely followed by Louis Robles who poached 15 goals. Interestingly I signed too many strikers given that i like to play 4-5-1 and I think the secret to success was rotating my other strikers in before the AI sussed out my game. In theory I had no reason to drop Robles but I just decided I should. Transfers I brought in quite a number of players, all on frees of course. Faustin Makela - used him last year in this challenge, tasty winger. Bradley James - ended up being my main keeper as seemed on par with Guthrie and had higher potential Brandon Holdsworth - good technical playmaker Patrick Reading - backup left back Stephen Akbas - Became first choice right back Miko Virtanen - decent stats but never came good. Cedwyn Scott - did well when called upon up front but didnt quite become first team regular Arlen Birch - handy utility man at the back Alex Perry (Loan) - tend not to go for loans but really struggled to bolster the midfield so Perry was welcome in January. In terms of the cups, I didnt really have much success but I don't care, I just wanted to get up a division so not bothered For some reason I was media prediction 2nd and my average attendance was a mere 626... onwards and upwards.... LeProfIamNot
Dulwich Hamlet - 2019/2020 - Sky Bet League 2 League Table - Transfers - Season Review - Injuries - Finances - Awards - Players - Attendance Expectations Media - 24th Board - Fight bravely against relegation Actual finish - 11th Overview This was a very satisfying campaign. We started off with a few solid wins and then were shot back to reality and immediately found ourselves fighting in the drop zone. Each match seemed like it was against a top side and I was concerned I wouldn't be able to keep the boys in good spirits for a long time. After a bit more than a quarter of the season done, I reviewed the schedule and found a stretch of games that I felt we could realistically win. I called a meeting to lift the spirits, then met with each player individually to boost their moral. We went into a home game against a bottom club and won convincingly. This changed the tone of the season and I didn't need another team meeting until the tail end of the campaign. We found ourselves so very close to a playoff spot through the last quarter of the season but couldn't find a way to get there, but overall it was quite pleasing because I really wasn't sure we had was it would take to even stay in the league. Overall, I'm happy with my players, most of whom stepped up and handled the new division really, really well. I have grown to really like most of these guys. They all have had something to give and, by now, I understand exactly how they need to play in order to perform. It's amazing how much of the first South squad I still have. Out of my best eleven, I think two of them are not from the original squad. I expect that to change soon, as we are going to start getting access to some higher quality players. Double promotions and almost squeaking into the playoff in League 2 with the same South squad is really something. One of the best accomplishments for me personally without using a loaded tactic. So very gratifying when you do it with your own tactics and just really, really knowing your players and what conditions they need to play well. I hope a large group of these South players will see League 1 to keep the success going. Players It was the same two players leading the way again this season, Charlie Kendall and Daniel Carr. Another standout performer is my captain, central defender Michael Chambers. He's grown into the role every season and keeps getting better with each division, which is amazing really. Charlie Kendall He continued his role as my target man, DLP, DF. We continued to play a direct style and our success was largely due to him. He had a very rough first half of the season and I was starting to think he wouldn't make it in this division. Then, however, my staff came me and told me that he had mage huge advancements in training. His attributes jumped a ridiculous amount and he finally started to make a difference. He started to do the same things he did in National and allowed Daniel Carr to shine. Daniel Carr His best season yet for The Hamlet. Our direct style feeds right into his strengths and he was electric this season. Not much else to say. The only issue is that he's starting to show signs of developing injury problems which is concerning. I still believe he will continue to play a large part in the squad, but I'm going to try to bring in another striker to add competition and more quality cover for next season. These injuries are just starting to worry me. He barely played 30 games but was so much more efficient this season. He's getting better, at the price of his fitness it appears. Sigh. Michael Chambers My captain continues to improve, and continued his role playing the middle central defender in my back 5. If you put a ball in the air anywhere near this guy he'll head it. My only issue with him is that he can't cope when trying to play as a central defender. If he doesn't play defensive defender, his game goes bye-bye. He's my favorite player for the middle central defender in my 5-3-2, with cover duty. He is a huge part to us not conceding many corner goals. FA Cup Oh this just bothers me having to review this. Same division side, Accrington in the first round, which we weren't picked to get through. I hate Accrington. We played these guys in our first league fixture a month before this one and got a draw at home. First round of the cup, another draw at home. Sigh. Second leg away, of course, we get shut out 2-0. Our only saving grace is that we had our second match away at the end of the season when we were in excellent form and handed them an old fashioned whooping, 4-1. EFL Cup We weren't expected to get through the first round, up against League 1 side Oxford. We played excellent, tight defense in our own half and, as usual, it was all about getting the ball up the pitch quickly to Daniel Carr. He hit one on the break on a great through ball and a well placed shot in the box off a throw-in. We shatter the odds and drive the dagger to Oxford in their own house, 2-1. And then reality sets in and we travel to Bournemouth. We played admirably, though, losing 4-2. It could have been a lot worse though. That win against Oxford was priceless though. Wish it could have been at home to a sold out Champion Hill Stadium. Checkatrade Trophy So this wasn't fun. Two League 1 sides and the Norwich City U23s. We really did well, though, especially being out classed as much as we were. 2-2 loss on penalties against Norwich U23s, a 2-1 loss to Charlton and a 2-1 loss to Millwell. We're going to need a bit more quality to make a dent on this competition. Finances We're sitting pretty good now. With the new cash injection from the league, we've got 600k in the bank. We made 250k profit this season after the league funds were added. I will continue the austerity for now, though. I'd like to make sure I feel secure in this league before making any big purchases. We're working on a link with higher division club so hopefully we'll get some money for that and a loan or two to keep things cheap. Our supporters are really great so I'd expect us to get close to regularly selling out our 2500 seat stadium. The league is going to force us to expand to 5000 by next season and the board is putting it off until the last moment, which I'm happy about. Assuming we stay up next season, we'll need to expand anyway since we're starting to outgrow the capacity. Hopefully, we can improve on our 250k profit next season. G_D_K
Chippenham Town Football Club Season 2 (2018/19) Table / Position Graph / Squad / Finances / Transfers / Manager / Facilities / Annual Injury Report / Confidence / Competitions / Reputation Season Two was (in addition to being prolonged due to a vacation and an illness), to say the least, challenging. It started bad, (0 points and a single goal in my first seven matches), and didn't start turning around until mid-season. By that time, I wasn't sure I had any hope of escaping the bottom of the table....but when it turned around....it did so in a big way. I ended with only 17 points from first 23 matches...leaving myself a huge hole to crawl out of. But, the second half saw me crawl out of said hole --- even if it took me 31 matches (and 80 minutes into a 32nd) to actually escape the drop zone. Once I escaped, I still had some work to do, but in the end finished with (what I consider) a brilliant 15th place finish. We never had any real stand-out players in the squad (in fact, we don't have a single player with a coach reported CA of better than "Leading VNN/VNS" on the whole team --- though we've a dozen or so with potential VNL ability. Our top goalscorer was loanee (from Swindon Affiliate) Kwame Asamoah (9G7A), followed by newcomer Sandy Cunningham (8G6A). Asamoah came into the team in the winter transfer, after another swindon loanee went out injured for 4 months. David Pratt, a solid player in S1, managed only 7 goals and fell out of favor toward the middle/end of the season and likely won't be returning next season. In his stead new signing youngster Luke McCormick (8G2A) will be trying to break into a starting role....though he will be challenged by another newcomer, the pacey Michael Obafemi -- who showed a real eye for the net in the U23s (15 goals in 20some matches), but didn't score a goal for the seniors until the final 3 matches of the season. Those four will hopefully anchor a rotation of strikers which will lead me out of the VNL in the coming season (or two). Defensively, Liam Marsden came into the right fullback spot and played solidly, if not spectacularly. I've not yet settled on a solid left back, as new signing Josh Wilde, brought in mid-season due to his ability to cross the ball, never panned out (only garnering 1 assist in 15(1) appearances. DCs Gater and Ryder, along with DMs Deeney and Rehman provided a fairly solid anchor in the center-back of the pitch however, while GK Lewis had a solid season as well, with another 12 clean sheets to his credit. And, when Lewis was lost for 5 weeks due to a broken finger, new signing goalkeeper Jose Mourinho proved up to the task, with 3 clean sheets in 5 sub appearances for the senior team (conceded 4 in the 5 matches, but that included 2 PKs in one match). He'll be a solid #1 keeper if he develops over the next year, and will be needed with 36yo Lewis going into his final year of contract. For the rest of club news---we managed to get the board to agree to a training ground upgrade 'round about March, when we had £110k in the bank (estimated cost, £95k). Then....in May, right after the end of the season, with about £60K in the bank.....the cancelled it due to cost.....go figure PROMOTION/PLAYOFFS Quite the opposite.....we were in a relegation battle most of the season! I foresee at least on more year before we can even challenge... CUP COMPETITIONS Not much to report here either --- it took a replay against VNS Whitehawk to get out of the qualifying rounds (0-0 home 2-0 away), which set up a 4-0 drubbing away vs L1 Oxford. Sadly, the 3.2K crowd didn't generate much revenue...but every little bit helps! The FA Trophy also featured a 1st match replay against a VNS team....this time a 1-1 home draw vs Margate. Unfortunately, we didn't fare well in the away match, and crashed out of the FA Trophy w/ a 3-2 loss. No problem....gave us time to concentrate on the league..... ADDITIONAL DETAILS Team of the Season Team Stats/Awards -- Asamoah w/ fans PoY, David Pratt with the goal of the season, youngster Luke McCormick as the signing of the Season, and Asamoah w/ YPoS rounds out the awards. Hopefully, we can put together a solid season in the VNL in 2019/20. I think I'm still a couple pieces short of challenging for a promotion run...and my low rep will continue to cause problems getting those pieces in. But....with a good season I can push for the 20/21 season. I'll be looking at strengthening the squad this season...and maybe get a facility upgrade pushed through. More coaching would help (already got a scouting increase allowance ---giving me 3) to develop some of the talent we have in (a dozen or so with good-->leading VNL potential). A good cup run would help in both areas (rep boost and funds for facilities)....so I'm targeting an FAC2R or better! gameportz
Well, after a very tough first season we managed to stay in the division thanks to goal difference. Had a hopeful start to the season, then my main striker got injured for around 4 months and crippled my whole system and so my season. Time to take stock and prepare for the next season (assuming I don't get sacked before then)

deadfncat
Dulwich Hamlet - Sky Bet Championship - 2022/23 - EleventhOverview So I was expecting to get spanked this season and after a bit of a squad turnover it was looking that was early. We would do ok one week, then absolutely fall apart the next week and leak 4+ goals. However around September we really started to turn it around and from November we had an amazing unbeaten run. in the last third of the season we dropped far too many games to poor teams which hurt our position, but I think with the squad we have, we did very well. Next season will be interesting and I hope we can move up the ladder a few spots and contest a playoff seat. Also Brexit finally happened and we got a soft one! haha no changes suckers! FA Cup - 5th Round We dealt with Rotherham easily then faced Norwich who were smashing the league at the time. We had recently beaten them in the league so i felt confident we could get it done and walked away from Carrow Rd with a 1-1 draw which I was very happy with. The replay was a fkn cracker. We traded goals all game and went into 90' at 3 a piece. This is after Norwich had a player red carded in the 35th for a rough tackle. We just couldnt do enough to take the win. They scored just after the 2nd half of ET had started which made me lose hope, but the boys cracked in two in reply in the next two minutes. Great game Premier League West Ham knocked us about in the next round, but it was a decent run overall. League Cup - 1st Round Lost straight away to League One Cheltenham in an awful showing. Oops! Squad Johnny Burn and Adam Bell are the are still the standouts and will be tough to keep them. Martell Taylor-Crossdale was my shining hope of a striker and while he is good, he is inconsistent as all hell. I dont think many changes will be made to the side this season, as I try to hold on to what we already have. QSF25
Kettering Town FC Ok premier is totally different it took me six matches to even score, lots of 4-0, 5-0. I had to revamp my tactic in order to finally win a match. I'm the worst in all the stats so I have a lot of improvements to do. The positive side is that... well... I'm not winning matches but I'm swimming in filthy premier league money. noikeee
Career thread Season 6 - 2022/2023 After picking up some incredible players in pre-season, I was very excited for this season and expecting great things, but we had a slow start. However, suddenly we got a really long unbeaten run going, and although this included a lot of draws, it fired us all the way up to 1st place, thanks to slightly inconsistent opposition. Past January we were still top, but then an absolutely disastrous run started out of nowhere. We started losing almost every match, and then to my dismay, our forward Ben Flusfeder who had been absolutely key so far, got injured. This prolonged the run, which ended with an absolutely awful 2 points in 11 matches. We won the final 2 fixtures but could only recover to 7th out of the playoffs. I briefly considered myself done with this and giving up on the challenge, but then I went back, studied the matches that had gone wrong, asked for some help in the tactics forum (actually I'm not too sure this is within the rules of the challenge? I'm sometimes using alternative systems heavily inspired on setups from other users, too), started learning a lot, and decided to go for another season. Tecmo
And downward go with Corby. Actually liked the style I had going in my fourth season but at the end we couldn't convert a chance to save our lives and it felt like we were giving up fluke deflections for goals in every game. I'll be back to continue the misery.

gameportz
Is anyone else having an issue during the second season where it's a struggle to hold on to all your players as they're not on proper contracts so the AI is just coming in to get all my best players for free? profii
They seem to accept a £20 per week with £150 appearance fee where prior they were on £200 appearance non-contract - but the benefit for me is I know they are staying don't mind paying £20 per week for someone who sits on the bench anyway Last night I spotted the Sammy Ameobi has gone from Newcastle to Ebbsfleet on 3.5k per week > no idea how to compete with that at the moment
