  1. It took a long time, but as of 23 Mar 2050, after a 1-0 win in a friendly vs North Macedonia (103/4th) We may not stay top 100 for long with another friendly vs 14th Holland immediately after, but we're here for a few days at least! 2. Massive, massive result! 9th place Germany fails to score, and our one shot on target finds the net! The finish puts us 2nd in WC qualifying to end the 2049 qualifying run (a 2nd place playoff to make the WC proper I think?) We move up 5 spots to 101st in world rankings as well.
  3. It's been a bit since the last update, mainly because I've been chugging along with little to update. We missed out on our chance of making the first European Championship in 2049 when we qualified for the Euro Championship qualifying playoff via our position in the nations' league --- something I wasn't really aware of. After finishing 4th in our actual qualifying league group I figured it was over for the year. However, we did qualify, and managed to win our first match vs 89th (ish) ranked Finland with a fine 3-1 win. However, the step up to 53rd ranked Serbia proved just a bit too much, and we succumbed to a 3-2 loss to end our first bid for actual Euro Championship football----for the time. We then went 2-4 in Nations League B division to get relegated back to Div C in the next cycle. Now, however, we have a sniff of something special: We're not quite there, with both Germany and Czech ahead to face...but we are already at our best ever spot in qualifications for a major tournament. A win in the next match vs Czech republic would go very far towards that goal; however, even a draw would be satisfactory against the 31st ranked team. Germany at the end of the cycle might be the key; if we can get a draw there and Czech loses to Germany in their 2nd meeting, we then have a chance. And finally, I can update the table (correct it) below, as we have finally beat a top-50 team (again, no idea what I was thinking when I added the achievement with a....62nd ranked notification! But, in our Nations League B of 2048, We did beat Sweden (38) for what appears to be our first top-50 win (we also topped that knocking off Romania 1-0 in the same group). We're also edging closer to a top-100 spot in World Rankings --- 109th after the last WC qualifying series; a decent result against Czech should move us up even further; a solid win might be enough to move us all the way to the top 100. We'll see how that goes! Win a game: 30/3/2024 -- 1-0 vs Somalia Win a competitive game (inlcudes Nations League): Oct 15, 2025 -- 3-1 vs Lithuania (World Cup Qualifying Group Stage) Have a player beat Andy Selva's 8 goals scored record: Sept 8, 2024 -- Nicola Nanni, 9th goal vs Andorra (International League Division D 1-1 Draw) Have a player score 50 international goals: 28 Mar, 2035, Nicola Nanni, 49th, 50th, and 51st career Int'l goal vs US Virgin Islands in a 5-0 friendly win. Get San Marino into the top 100 in the world: Get San Marino into the top 50 of the world: Get promoted from Nations League D: 2026 after taking 9 points from four matches (vs Luxembourg and Andorra) Get promoted from Nations League C: 2042 after edging out North Macedonia in Div C Group 1 (4W/2L) Get promoted from Nations League B: Qualify for the European Championship: Qualify for the World Cup: Survive group stage in the European Championship: Survive group stage in the World Cup: Win the Nations League: Win the European Championships: Win the World Cup: Become the number one ranked team in the world: Quick update: a 1-1 draw vs Czech with both sides missing golden opportunities for the win (Czech striker hit BOTH posts on one late shot before we cleared our lines) leaves us in this position with 2 to play (and moves us to 106th in world rankings). We're not out of it, but with Germany yet to come in our final match (Czech has already played Germany twice), it's not likely we'll advance this year. Still, major progress, and the best showing we've had yet in any qualifying series.
  4. As hoped, we moved straight back to European International Division B. Came down to last match, where we battled Armenia for a 1-0 win. A loss would have handed the title to Armenia. 4 wins and 2 draws (against one lower ranked, 2 higher ranked teams) sees us move up to 122nd in the world rankings.
  5. Major milestone hit as the San Marino National Team knocks off Hungary, 2-0, in World Cup Qualifying. The win gives San Marino their highest ever finish in World Cup qualifying, although they are still well short of competing in their first major tournament. The win, and tournament overall, moves the Samarinese national team up to 131st in world rankings (up 5 from the start of the match, up 8 from the start of the tournament), while Hungary dropped 4 spots to 66th. edit: Sad day for the Sammarinese national team: The Ball winning midfielder was our 2nd to reach 100 caps. He will be missed! 6. One option (if you have FM23) is to download one of the FM23 leagues and immediately convert it to FM24. My 20-season save converted over seamlessly, and only took a couple minutes. I've not looked at the FM24 leagues yet, as I'm too involved in my FM23 carryover; and I've not looked at the editor at all (although I might have a look over the holidays and see if I can recreate it properly).
  7. Our biggest result yet with the national team: Serbia ranked 49th going into this matchup: We basically played defensively, soaked up the pressure, until the 87th minute, where I pressed for the draw. It worked! We followed this Euro Div B match by taking a 2-0 lead against 42nd ranked Czech Republic; however, we were unable to maintain the lead and were handed a 4-2 loss by the end of the day. Still, we are certainly seeing signs of improvements in the national team.
  8. 23rd season for Victor San Marino now in the books. Finished second in the league --- after losing my starting keeper with 4 to play (including the IC final). Had to call in my 15yo academy graduate to finish the season, but it was a rough final 3 matches. He did well enough, but it was a lot to ask him to have to win all three matches, let alone facing Inter twice as well as Lazio (lost both league matches 2-0, but he picked up the win vs Inter in the Italian Cup final) In addition to the Italian Cup (our 2nd in VSM history), we also picked up the Italian Super Cup trophy for the first time, and can look forward to trying to keep it in San Marino in the 44/45 season. As for the ECL, did not progress quite as far in this year's edition. A pretty huge mistake saw me leave 3 starters off the squad registration sheet when it came time to register the first phase, so even a fairly favorable schedule saw us falter, and we only qualified for the knockout playoff stage. A 2-1 away win vs Milan gave us hope, but a wild home leg saw us drop a 4-3 loss (3-2 in regulation, one goal each in extra time), which would take us to penalties. And....we did poor. Both teams leading strikers led off the shootout; both strikers had their penalties well saved. Sadly, while both teams' #2 kickers scored, our 3rd kicker was also saved, and our 4th kicker hit the upright, taking us out before the round of 16. Next year, maybe. No boneheaded mistakes (the mistake was due to having players "unavailable" filter out during the registration process, and I completely missed that fact). and maybe we'll qualify outright for the round of 16 next season. Overall, Victor San Marino has moved up to 18th in European club reputation (and in coefficients as well). Our stadium turns 10 years old this fall; here's hoping we can now look at a new one, as we've sold out every season since it was built (barring, perhaps, the first, where we might have only been 90-95%)
  9. Congrats! Great achievement. I'm still waiting to qualify for my first major tournament, in 2044.
  10. Just a small, minor, barely worth update worth mentioning based on one of my posts just above this one....
  11. Into the 2044 friendlies, and we get.......another massive draw ---this time against 34th Switzerland. Getting so close.....
  12. I'll upload the May 24 seed file on my next batch.... haven't done any in a couple days due to work.
  13. Meanwhile, the National team continues to show improvement, with two huge draws (vs Wales and Serbia, ranked 35th and 44th respectively). The 8 points in the tournament is the most by the National team in any major competition. Still need a bit of a bump, but I am betting that by this time in 4 years (next Euro qual's) we will actually be competitive and possibly qualify for the main tournament. The tournament sees us move up 8 spots to 137th in the world rankings. I'm also seeing a few Samarinese players starting to appear in leagues around europe, including this youngster who appeared in Linfield this past season: At this time, a total of 18 players in the national pool are playing for teams in the top division of the nation they are currently playing in: 13 in Serie A (11 for VSM, 1 Capitoline, 1 Lazio), 1 Slovak, 1 Slovenian, 1 Turkish, 1 French. Sadly, other than Biordi above, all of these players are from the San Marino League or from VSM ourselves. Still, seeing a newgen with potential pop up in Northern Ireland gives me hope that our reputation is spreading, and gives me hope to find other SM gems hiding out in the world at large.
  14. I'm in 2043 (finished 2042 then imported to FM24 --- without any real problems I might add). My last youth intake contained this gem: We're now half-way though his first season, he's already playing for the senior national team, and is doing well in limited appearances on the senior VSM team as well.
  15. These saves (first batches at least) are from the Beta/Early Access of FM24. My FM23 saves are still on site as well, so if you wish to load anFM23 save and import to FM24, they'll be there. Obviously there are more FM23 saves up at the moment, though I hope to have more FM24 beta saves up this week.... and I'll also get some batches of FM24 saves from the release version as well come the 6th.
  16. Having actually beat the challenge two years running (in season 20 in both FM21 and 22, coincidentally), I'm not entirely sure I will be running it again this year. But, I have started holidaying and building up a save database, just in case. So, as in previous years, I will again host those saves on my mediafire account for those who want to save time and dive in. Note: These are what I have obtained so far, but are not actually uploaded yet. I'll get to that this weekend --- so far, I have one half of the available teams, and will continue over the next week or so to find more. PS -- if you find a save you like but with a setup you don't (too many players for your machine to handle, too few players to your liking), you can download the savefile and Add/Edit league (from the main menu) to add new leagues, make leagues playable that are view only, or make them view only if they are set to playable. This will tailor the size/speed of the sim to your liking). Without further ado -- FM24 Dafuge Holiday saves: As requested in past, teams in bold are first apperances in the list. 17. Think I'll download this and import to FM24 and give it a try
  18. Well...FM 24 is released (EA). I'm going to import the save to FM24 (which was quick, took < 2 minutes). Going to use the EA period to see how well the import has taken, and continue it with release if no major bugs have cropped up...otherwise I'll reimport the FM23 save once any major problems are taken care of. I just finished the 2042/43 season in FM22 with VSM, capturing our first Serie A title in team history. Our 3rd foray into the ECL saw us reach the QFs, where a 2-1 home win was erased by a 3-1 away loss to Tottenham. Still, it was an achievement to get past the first knockout round ever; one I hope to improve on next season. Our journey thus far: (Spoiler alert --- English teams have been my bane in Europe! ) And, our National Team achievements---- still less than half-way there, but we will be in European Division B in that next competiton's opening: Win a game: 30/3/2024 -- 1-0 vs Somalia Win a competitive game (inlcudes Nations League): Oct 15, 2025 -- 3-1 vs Lithuania (World Cup Qualifying Group Stage) Have a player beat Andy Selva's 8 goals scored record: Sept 8, 2024 -- Nicola Nanni, 9th goal vs Andorra (International League Division D 1-1 Draw) Have a player score 50 international goals: 28 Mar, 2035, Nicola Nanni, 49th, 50th, and 51st career Int'l goal vs US Virgin Islands in a 5-0 friendly win. 19. Been a while since I've had much worth updating here, but finally getting to Div B. Not that I think we'll be able to stay up, but we have been promoted from Div C! Tough Group in Euro Qual's next year, we'll likely finish 4th out of 5. Just had one of my two 5* NT players retire after 124 caps (DL that I found early on.... I suspect my AMR 5* isn't much further behind), so at least one hole that needs to be filled with not a lot of quality in sight. Still, we're up to 145 in the world, and inching forward slowly! 20. One of the craziest matches I've played yet. 2nd leg of Europa Semi-final after 2-2 home draw. Missing 2 starters, with two others on limited duty due to recovering from injury. Four of my goals were from set-pieces, including one of the first I've seen from a corner taken short, given back to the corner taker, crossed in and headed home. Sadly, Chelsea keeper made two great saves to start the shootout, one low left corner, next lower-right corner, and we didn't recover. Still, well done by the lads to make the semi-final and give Chelsea a few grey hairs. Still in potential ECL spot with 3 to play in league as well.
  21. I've been wanting this feature since early-mid 90s! I get invested in a save, and as I play games out fully (no highlights), 20 seasons in a year is pushing it....and I often don't complete my goals in only 20 years. being able to transfer to the next version and continue my save will be absolutely wonderful! I can finally potentially complete some of these obscure challenges
  22. Yep, that's what I'm using....problem is that the link is no longer valid. I did a quick check on steam workshop, and that particular DB isn't there any longer. Timo has a ton of DBs posted, and the only one that looks like it might work is the Italy (D5). I will try to find the original if I still have it and throw it up on a filesharing page, if I can Here is a link to the original Timo File, uploaded to my mediafire account for those that need it. https://www.mediafire.com/file/163yzzxv4gcra1x/Italy_%28D5%29_-_By_%40Timo%40.fmf/file just place it in your //documents/Sports Interactive/Football Manager 2023/editor data folder and fire up a new game.
  23. Might try the Idaly (D5) by Timo off the steam workshop. Same author as listed in the first post of the thread. Possibly the same and/or updated database from the start of the season. (Or search Timo in the workshop search bar and see if another fits)
  24. Signs of improvement: (WC 36 is obv. 38, typed it in wrong in the pic)
  25. Finally, reached 150 in world rankings!
