Verby Posted April 5, 2010 Share Posted April 5, 2010 I was following a dutch Youngster at Ajax when he come through there youth ranks, I didnt want to approach him yet, I was waiting to see how he progressed. Bolton come in with a bid of 4.3 Million, I didnt do anything and just let them take him. He was 18 then and went straight into there first team, he took a while to settle down but eventually was banging them in towards the end of the season, including 3 against me over 2 games. I sold Berbatov at the end of the season cos hes getting on abit and brought this guy in with the money. Opinions? He was also called up to the national team and gained 2 caps towards the end of the season when he was on fire. Hes also got the tag Wonderkid. roo-naldo Posted April 5, 2010 Share Posted April 5, 2010 Your scouts cannot give definitive reports on players though, so always reserve the final judgement for yourself. I've bought players that my scout and Ass. Man have given 2.5 star potential to, but have developed well enough to 3, and even 3.5 star. So if you get a report on a player with 2.5 star, then look into buying him based on his stats and performances. If he gets 3 or more, then I'd be buying him. In the meantime I'd try and get him unsettled by praising him in the media and he might refuse to extend his full time contract when it's in the last year, allowing you to snap him up when it's within 6 months of expiring. Search by age and scout every player worth 1m+. There is a thread somewhere though as mentioned. Different countries generate new youth at different times during the season. Not all regens have a high price and even then some of then are rubbish because their stats are in the wrong places etc. Make sure you have a really god scouting network and get them to scout under 18 leagues, tournaments etc. Also have some roaming different regions with an age limit. The easiest obvious way is to check the youth teams of 'big' countries. France, Spain, Turkey (oddly have great regens) etc. Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...

Hard to say really. If he has potential then he'll develop into an effective player with his pace but there are a few too many important attributes below 10 for me tbh.
