Well I called a team meeting after the Wolves result and basically gave them an ear-bashing. Despite Steven Gerrard saying I was being harsh, plus a pretty big drop in morale, the following 2 results:

Liverpool 6:1 Bolton

Liverpool 3:1 Man Utd

In the United match, we had 4 players taken off with injuries (four ffs) eventually reducing us to 10 men as all subs were used to replace injured players, hit the woodwork 3 times, had THREE goals disallowed, 2 penalties turned down (one of which was basically attempted murder in the box) plus missed countless 1-on-1s.

That is one thing I will definitely level at FM12 now I'm used to it (and have clocked up over 170 hours of game time); there is WAY too much happening during matches. Far too many injuries, own goals, goals from corners, penalty 'shouts', missed chances, woodwork hitting (in fact I hit the post/crossbar at least twice a match, sometimes 3 or 4 times).

Glad I could help - team talks aren't my strong point; but in FM12 it is really easy to slip into a run of bad form and you have to take really decisive action to advert it.

fuss do you use any training?

ive search the all thread and nothing i saw about it

10x anyways ;]

I'm not an expert at training - for me the key is to get specialist coaches (i.e. one good coach for each skill), as for training schedules I'm currently using 'Fusion' training which can be found on this forum somewhere.

Can anyone tell me where to find where the assistant manager tell you about the team blend e.g. "players blending well together", or "players have developed a strong understanding" ? I can't seem to find on 2012! Thanks.

Lads - anyone fancy helping me out with this? Can't seem to find it on this year's game! Cheers.

PS Fuss - having a bash with v4 of your tactic now - will report back! I remember your 2007 tactic - if this one is anything like that then you're on to a winner!

During a match, click 'analysis', click '[assistant's name here]'s feedback' - gives a good impression of the squad blend and any particular issues such as overconfidence.

When setting up for a match (at OI and Team Talk stage) the Overview screen shows the team. There is an advice tab which also tells you about over confidence and team blend etc

Defoe isn't very good in fm12, my first choice of the default squad would be Adebayor, followed by Pav, then Defoe third.

VDV would be the best AMC you have, but Moderic will also be very good there (Moderic will also be good on either wing).

I have basson and bocchtti in my squad, so they're perfect :)

FuSS is Bressan good playmaker ?

He's a pretty decent all-rounder and should be fine in the French league. In the long run you might want to look for somebody with better mental stats if you're going to play at champions league level - obviously this costs money.

There's a few cheap youngsters that tend to turn out well as PM's (not always): Kevin De Bruyne, Shinji Kagawa, Dos Santos.

And it's worth keeping an eye on a few slightly older brilliant Playmakers that sometime go very cheap a season or two in...kaka and Van Der Vaart I've seen sell for less than 3m.

The main advice is to have a decent backup and always be prepared to sub your PM if he isn't playing well.

After those 2 wins we went back into a slump of nonsense form. Simply cannot win matches where I am CLEAR favourite to win. In fact, as soon as I see a comment like "Liverpool/no contest/cricket score" etc, I know what will happen.

I think I'm going to give up on FM12 because everything annoying about football seems to have been squeezed into every single match. Lord knows why.

hello fuss. would it ruin the tactic if i use natural wingers? thanks in advance, i´m giving 4.0 a go when i get home

nope, not at all, it'll just waste some of their crossing skills. Give them a go on the wrong wings to see how they perform though.

This is how the season ended:

table2o.jpg

I don't remember having scored that many goals in a season, at least since the days of FM08.

Don't know if I will change to V4, as V3 is obviously working very well.

And I'm not having problem with crosses, in fact, I score a lot from them, specially in counter attacks:

FuSS

Things going well with my Foggia game as you can see

05-12-201118-04-52.jpg

This was with SkyRim. I have a pretty poor squad and no money but I'm hanging in there thanks to your tactics.

Thanks for all your efforts, you have made me enjoy FM2012!

I'll try out V.04 now and look forward to seeing how it performs.

Nice.

I've actually designed a 4-4-2 (well 4-2-2-2 if we're picky), that's working very well. I'll likely open a new thread and set it up as an alternative tactic for people that would rather have a second striker than an amc.

Only just started using the v4 in a new game I've started with Aberdeen.

The current squad is not suited toward the tactic, has no money and at the moment is not familiar with the tactic.

Just played a friendly...

Will keep you posted :)

fuss, just one question mate: see youre playing with hard tackling on almost every players except the CBs. dont you get any problems with cards? i myself tried it out with hard tackling, since I had the feeling, that my players are too cautious with easy or normal tackling and right in the first game, cahill got sent off...

wondering, how many times you are playing with 10men...

not too often no, the fullbacks and the DM probably generate the most cards...but given their jobs in this tactic that's to be expect. I'm assuming also that you employed Cahill as a CB...one of the only players not set to hard tackling!

El_magico, I played several seasons in Fm12 with different tactics, but always used hard tackle, and had no problems with red cards. There is one every now and then, but the benefit outweights the cost in my opinion. You just have to be careful with players who have a high dirtiness attribute.

thats something ive noticed aswell. without hard tackling, you have almost no chances to win challenges. when I just see van persie winning almost every single challenge against distin and jagielka, I just wonder, where the problem lies. but if setting tackling to hard, it might be too dangerous, I dont like that. hopefully in the christmas patch, SI can improve the defensive behaviour of players on the pitch, its just awful. there is almost no tactic out, which as a solid defence, and its not because we cant create solid tactics, much more something to do with the ME.

I' m try v 0.3 FINAL in my Legia team in champions league against the last three matches and...that was amazing:

Man Utd (A) 2:0,

Twente (H) 4:0,

Juventus (H) 4:1(from score 1:1 I played in ten men)

This tactic is killer for counter attack and have solid defence;)

Btw this is 3rd season I buy only three players for the first team

Thanx a lot man;)

@hayward, how on earth did you manage that lol! I'm Evian in my 2ns season in France, got some pretty decent players signed, fully comfortable with the tactic and yet I just lost 2 home matches 1-5 and 2-3 against lesser opposition. Must be my team talks?
